Plan B is a spacious café cum florist cum T-shirt shop situated at the subdued corner of Dundas East and Logan. Its scattered decor will have you looking in all directions. There's a giant Coca Cola sign, a wall full of t-shirts and onesies, a couple of fridges full of flowers. Instead of a mirror there is a little note in the washroom which reads, "don't worry doll, you look smashing."

It's quite large also. A long communal table (which alternates very uncomfortable lime green Ikea chairs with solid wood ones) fills the space. Light pours in through a gargantuan garage door. The sofas in the corner are key if you need an outlet (i.e., for power not for your emotional surplus), because the table is barren of plugs.

They serve some pretty mean sandwiches (which they make each day), pour a solid espresso, and serve the aforementioned Coca Cola in glass bottles. The major draw is that it's not very busy so if you are looking to get some work done, it's a great environment to concentrate. Also, they only seem to hire cute girls who know a lot about pop culture. Maybe that's just Reighan. She's awesome.

I'd like to come back in the summer. I suspect that magnanimous sliding door gets a lot more use.

    Obligatory Title Pun: B excited!

Menu Readability: Brace yourselves: the stunning menu is written on a chalkboard IN HELVETICA. I heard they used a projector. Brilliant.

Need to mention: They have wifi, but it's spotty.

What this place teaches me about myself: I DO look smashing, don't I?

Thank god they are closed. What a nightmare. Hopefully T-shirt guys is next. Want to see some Toronto Low Life's wasting their life away getting high at work-- go to the back of the store after ordering your poor quality misprinted tees from the owner who is nothing more than a scumbag. What a waste of retail real estate-- CLOSE ALREADY.

I showed up at 9:05 am on a Sunday morning. The signs says they open at 9 am on Sundays. Lights were out, door was locked. When one of the staff saw me looking in, he open the door, and told me that the coffee was still brewing and that they hadn't put out the baked goods and it would be another 10 minutes. I was treated like an annoyance instead of someone who wanted to be a customer. So instead, I walked to another bakery that sells awesome scones - and was open and friendly!

This might sound dickish, but I used to be a barista and opened a cafe at 7 am on Sundays, which meant I was there at 6:30 to make sure everything before it opened.

I go to Plan B a lot in the winter because it's closer to my house than Mercury.  Their coffee isn't that great but they have a tonne of other drinks that are great, like coke in glass bottles.

    The good:
    - close to my house
    - lots of baked goods
    - hot sandwiches
    - huge table for working
    - integrated florist (serious)
    - clean restrooms
    - REALLY great chalkboard menus
    - don't seem to mind if I sit there for quite a awhile sometimes
    - it's quiet

    The bad:
    - don't love this coffee anymore, but not really a dealbreaker, just get something else (they have a lot of drinks)
    - there was a lot of staff turnover so when I've invested in getting to know someone and they're suddenly gone I'm always like "awwe..." (and I hate meeting new people)
    - the wifi is terrible and I always end of tethering my phone
    - there are limited power outlets

Overall, I will make this part of my winter work-at-a-coffee-shop rotation and be quite happy about it (being inside with the flowers is especially nice during the winter).

If you work from home, might I suggest surrounding yourself with the intoxicating aroma of fresh cut flowers? If this idea appeals to you, come hang out at T-Shirt Guys Plan B. It's a glorious space to repurpose as your office-away-from-home.

The space doubles as a flower shop and the selections are breathtaking. There are flowers everywhere, beautiful, fragrant ones too, like gerbera daisies, hydrangea, tulips, crocuses and hyacinth. I'm more than pleased that I haven't killed any by merely sharing the room with them, as I've often done. They make the space so bright and lively. The friendly lady that runs the flower portion of the shop will remind you of Jackie from Roseanne, except she doesn't snoop over your shoulder or give you sass. She's solid.

There's a buttload of fresh baked treats and sandwiches to choose from, and the vintage Coke case is impressive - I'm sure you've heard me mention more than once how much I love the availability of glass bottle Coke, and you can get it here, as well as V8, iced tea and Vitamin Water.

The large communal table in the centre is wonderful to work from. The people who share it with you might chat you up and you'll be happy to socialize, otherwise, just put on headphones. Wi-fi is reliable and the dogs (and the owners that bring them) here are some of the best dog breeds I've had the pleasure of mauling with affection. There's a huge rollup garage door that is kept open during the summer months that leads to the street, and that's where the dogs chill together.

Word has it the owners are planning to make Plan B more of a community space with late night movie events and such. Stay tuned!

They've done a great job with the decor and the staff are very friendly.

The coffee is great and fairly priced.

However, the food is mediocre and VERY expensive. I just had an average roast beef sandwich for $8! Come on, at least give me a side of something for that price.

If you want to work and drink coffee, this is a good choice. If you're hungry for more than a caffeine buzz, go elsewhere.

I was redirected to Plan B after heading into T-shirt Guys when they were swamped. Instead of leaving me just standing there cooling my heels, the t-shirt guy said, "follow me." He walked me over to Plan B, asked the staff person there to make me a coffee, and apologized that I would have to wait. When he came to retrieve me a little while later (less than 10 minutes) he apologized for the wait and then was nothing short of awesome as I ordered three t-shirts. The coffee was on the house, the t-shirts rocked and I will definitely go back.

Super friendly staff and beautiful decor, lots of light, and a bewildering assortment of candy, baked goods and drinks at the counter.  I really loved this little place, I will definitely be back.
