Review from Maria F.
I have never actually been to this restaurant, but I frequently order take-out from them over the phone, and so I will review customer service and the food. Szechuan House's menu doesn't really differ from other Chinese restaurants in town, but I love portion sizes and freshness of the ingredients. Prices are very reasonable considering the amount of food you will get. When my husband and I order dinner for two ($24), we know that the food will last us two days. Some of the things we order most often are hot and sour soup (great for treating a cold or a hangover: ), spring rolls, shrimp and mixed greens, chicken with mushrooms (Portobello mushrooms are amazing) and shanghai noodles. I will say again that Szechuan House offers well-known dishes which can be found at any other Asian restaurant in town; what makes me keep ordering from them over and over again is the way the food is prepared. It is not overly sweet or salty; it is not swimming in sauces that have God knows what in them; and all ingredients taste fresh.
All orders totalling $19.00 are subject to free delivery. Which brings me to the issue of customer service... Most of the time, deliveries are timely, but on several occasions we had to wait over an hour for our order to arrive. Such long wait is annoying but the food makes up for it big time. Once, not only did we wait 1 hour, but the food arrived cold. Basically, customer service is a hit and miss with this restaurant, and that is the only drawback. -

We ordered for the 1st time tonight and well i have to agree with the person taking our phone order was very friendly, pricing and portions were really good , but yes 45 minutes for an order and having to heat your food when you get it is not acceptable.our chicken fried rice was so gummy it was plain rice with peas and chicken thrown in isn't exactly what i would call Chicken Fried Rice, the wonton's in the soup were really gummy, too much flour. the chicken chop suey was a dish full of itchaban noodles covered with 7-8 slices of chicken with a few veg's on top , and over fried chicken balls. overall food had no flavour. so obviously it gets a 1-10 rating and will be the 1st and last time we order from there ...
