I received a gift certificate for a facial at Sweet Momma. What a treat for a woman 8 months pregnant! I'd never had a facial before (somehow, I found it hard to justify paying so much money to have somebody wash my face), but I found the experience to be enjoyable and relaxing. The spa was immaculately clean and the staff was very professional. It was nice that the technicians know about the needs and concerns of pregnant women (we cannot lie on our backs) and have made accommodations. If you are looking for a wonderful gift for a pregnant woman in your life, consider a gift certificate to Sweet Momma. I may try to get back for a massage before the little one comes.

I had an outstanding massage from Kirsten at Sweet Momma. I felt great after. And the reception staff was very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend Sweet Momma.

Visited the southside Sweet Momma location today for their 5th Anniversary celebration - they were providing mini pedicures and mini massages for free on a first come first serve basis.
My girlfriend and I (both 9 months pregnant) arrived approximately 15 minutes prior to their opening weekday hours of 9am. We were promptly greeted and offered cold bottled water. We were seated together for our pedicures a few minutes after 9am. The service today was 1/2 of the normal service - we had a choice of massage or polish with our pedicure. We both chose polish - a pregnant girl must have pretty toes for delivery! The pedicure room is beautiful with modern crystal sconces and a chandelier - there is a large bench seat to sit next to your friend or companion while in the pedicure foot soaker tub. The atmosphere is very relaxing - open and bright. There are no toxic smells as they only use products that are formaldehyde, etc. free.
The staff were pleasant and friendly. The little boutique store itself sells a wide variety of pregnancy and baby related items from baby slings to nasal aspirators to body products.
They had an assortment of snacks and goodies out by the time we had finished our pedicures.
I have previously visited this location and have always found the atmosphere to be bright, airy, and pampering!
Today certainly was a special treat as their prices are on the higher end of spas. I highly suggest a gift certificate for services to Sweet Momma as a baby shower gift or a group gift where everyone can pitch in $20 towards a total of a big spa day! -

While pregnant with my daughter I went for regular massage treatments. I had several different therapists and they were all great. If I needed the pressure adjusted they were very responsive and I always left satisfied. Towards the end of my pregnancy the esthetics services were valuable as I couldn't reach or see my toes. I never had to worry about the products as I knew they were safe. Since then, I have given gift card as the perfect baby shower gift.

I've gone to Sweet Momma for pampering during both of my pregnancies, and usually the treatments are outstanding.
However they have a massage therapist who is an absolute train wreck! She was overly chatty, rough and abrupt in her massage, used cold massage lotion, and spent most of my massage trying to do accupressure on my face. Emphasis on the 'trying'. The whole experience was so far from relaxing it was laughable; it felt more like being rubbed down with a rough towel than a pampering massage. Oh, and did I mention she started off the session by making a rascist comment about Chinese people? That was AWESOME. Almost as awesome as having the owner decide to never follow up on my complaint, despite the promises of the very lovely receptionist.
In short, go for the pedicures, absolutely try the facials ( request Jessica, she is AMAZING) but steer clear of the massages, and be aware that if you have a truly awful experience, they ultimately don't give a rat's ass. -

When my friend was pregnant she would often go to Sweet Momma. It's a spa especially for mommas-in-the-making, and they have every product you can possibly think of related to maternity and new-born babes. I've gone with her and browsed the spa menu and boutique section. They also offer a giant selection of special spa treatments for reducing stretch marks and water retention, de-stressing, easing lactation, soothing and pampering. Treatments are safe for all stage of pregnancy. My friend told me the staff was super supportive and helped her with building a nutrition plan for during and after pregnancy. She was really impressed with their service and I saw how much that meant to her during her first pregnancy, when it was all new to her. I will definitely join the sweet momma club when I go prego.

This business is such a great concept! It is a pregnancy spa! I haven't had the pleasure of actually using their services (that would require having been pregnant at some point throughout my life), however, I did purchase a spa package for a close friend of mine - it was the best baby shower gift ever! The receptionist at Sweet Momma was very friendly and very helpful. She recommended some the most popular treatments to me, since I had never experienced being pregnant. I got my friend the Scrubcious Momma which is a massage and body polish for $143. It is one of their cheaper packages but my friend absolutely loved it. They also have some single treatments such as pedicures, facials and body treatments (some that are specifically designed for stretch mark fading and prevention). Pregnant women should be pampered! I would definitely recommend something from Sweet Momma as a baby shower gift or for the men out there - show your baby-carrying lady some love and send her to the spa!
