As far as lunch spots go, this place is great! I crave sushi abot once a week, and this place satisfies that craving with some extra veggies snuck in (like a sliver of red pepper in a spicy tuna roll or heaps of bean sprouts in the Tom Yum Soup).

This is that place I've been looking for to get veggies with my sushi!

I was downtown looking for a quick sushi meal to satisfy my craving, and decided to give Sushi Go a try. I wasn't disappointed, but I've definitely has much better. I want to give it four stars, but I think three will suffice. It's just not THAT spectacular.

The inside of the place is cute, tidy and sort of modern. I didn't visit the washrooms, sorry. At first I was confused as to where the menu was; the gal behind the counter never greeted us or told us where to look so I took it upon myself to pick up what looked like a take-out menu and chose my order from it.

    I tried the:
*Inari ($4 for two pieces): They're a really decent size. I will try to upload a picture so you can see how huge it was compared to most sushi joints. I am used to plain old Inari with just bean curd and rice, but this one contained marinated shiitake mushrooms and green onions, and it tasted really nice. It wasn't ice cold, which is something I really appreciated.

*Avocado Hosomaki Roll ($3.50 for 6 small pieces): The roll was kind of small, but that was expected as it was mentioned on the menu. The avocado was just right and the seaweed was great too.

*Yasai Futomaki Roll ($6.25 for 5 big pieces, contains Avocado, Cucumber, Carrot, Red Pepper, Marinated Shiitake and Sesame Seeds): This is your standard vegetable roll. I actually got full off my two other items so I ended up taking the rest home with me. It was yummy. :)

*Organic Spring Jasmine Tea ($3.50 for a small pot): The gal at the counter asked if I wanted to try out the tea, and since I LOVE tea, I did. Wow... so good. Yum! I was so impressed that I ordered a pot for my friend and I. I thought the portion was quite small though for the price I paid... I'm used to getting free tea with my sushi, so paying that much for such a small pot kind of sucked.

Their soy sauce is in 37% less sodium containers, and I'm not sure if it actually was that type of soy sauce in it, but I found it less yummy than I've had elsewhere. It's really not a deal breaker for me though.

I will definitely be back here to try out their soup and salad, for which they only have a couple vegan options: Veggie Nippon Salad, Miso Soup (I still have to check if it's vegan though) and Coriander Soup. They also have a Vegetarian Spring Maki Roll and a Kampai Hosomaki Roll I'd like to try.

Thumbs up: OK portion sizes, taste, and smiley people.
Thumbs down: No free cup of tea when you order in...and a little pricey for the portion sizes. Also, the table and soy sauce container were both sticky. That's actually a huge pet peeve of mine. I usually assume the restaurant is dirty if the tables stink or if they're sticky.

    Kanpai!

One of the most interesting things about SushiGo is that they offer rice-paper rolls ("Spring Makis" and soya rolls, which you don't tend to find in too many sushi places. They have a pretty large selection of meal-sized soups and salads, combos, and party trays. They have different sized rolls - maki (medium), futomaki (large), and hosomaki (small). These are posted on the signs so that you won't get mixed up and order too many massive rolls.

I came here for the first time with my cousin to satisfy yet another sushi craving. It was pretty packed with people both sitting and coming in and out. After looking over their fairly large menu, I ordered the "411", which were 8 maki rolls with white tuna, tempura pieces, and and a few other sushi fillings for about $8. I also bought one of their aloe drinks, which I was surprised to find came in many different flavors. We took a seat and our sushi orders were served to us. Though not a very unique roll, it was very good, made fresh and well, but like the hungry, hungry hippo that I am, I was still hungry and picked up a "Salmon GF" tray they had in the express fridge against the wall, which cost about a buck less. This was also very good and finally made me full.

All in all, the quality of the sushi is pretty great for express, and the service is also very fast. The prices are affordable as well, so I definitely something to check out if you're looking for a quick sushi fix!

Sushi Go is a small restaurant that has soups, huge salads, and (of course) sushi. We got some sushi prepared for us fresh but there are also rolls that come prepackaged and that look fairly fresh, so no need to fear any sort of odd food poisoning. And the sushi that we did get was quite delicious and really reasonably priced, and also there was a good selection of vegetarian and non vegetarian options.

The people dining next to us ordered a very fresh looking salad in which they got mixed in one of the wide variety of fresh dressings they could choose from. There also seemed to be a fairly good selection of loose leaf tea and dried snacks that I will definitely have to come back to try.

For the price you are paying this is a great place to go if you are in a rush or want to sit down and chill out for a while with the selection of magazines provided by the restaurant itself.

this place is pretty fun.  there are lots of sushi packaged to go, but you can also order various rolls, and they package it for you in a to-go box.  the storefront is super sleek and clean, and there are japanese snacks lined up on the walls.  there are also various loose leaf teas in canisters on the counter for you to order.

the rolls here are pretty good...not stellar, but good for a to-go place.  portion sizes are fairly big also, so it's a pretty good deal.

Sushi Go was well-priced and tasty! Good for vegetarians, as there are a variety of veggie & tofu rolls, salads, and soups. Don't forget to try a "tea of the day" while you're there! It seemed that most people there were buying food to take out, but a couple of people were perching on the high tables to eat.

I'm pretty sure this place is a franchise but it's a very good sushi place. The prices are reasonable, the menu explains all the choices very clearly, and the food is fresh. The staff was friendly and brought the food out when it was ready.  I thought the big spring maki roll that comes in a set of two is delicious and it's vegetarian. I do not recommend the rolls with sundried tomato. A very strange taste.  The interior is clean and simple and they have rice and stuff for sale that you can take and make at home.  Seafood salad was fresh and tasty too.  There are pre-made sushi trays that vary in size and price and I think that's a good option too if you plan on eating a bunch anyway.

Whenever I stay at Les suites in Ottawa. One of 2 must stop locations for me is Sushi Go. The food is excellent and the service is fast and efficient.   The only downside is that no sushi place in Ottawa delivers. But, this place more than compensates in quality.

Went there only once and will never go back again. Love sushi and so was impressed by the fresh looking selection in the fridges. The decor and general feel of the place is also modern and welcoming. But that is where my compliments end. I chose a sushi roll box and took it to the checkout. My work colleague was ahead of me and did the same. When we got there we were told that the prices were wrong and we had to pay an additional $3. It gets worse!!! I told the person I did not think so and that she should get the manager. She disappeared for 2 minutes, and came back to tell us that the manager (who is also the franchise owner of SushiGO) was too busy to speak with us, that we were to pay the price that was not on the box and that if we had a problem we could email her. I left my box there and told the person I would never go back. If you consider service in exchange for your money important, avoid this place like the plague.
