Delicious sushi and amazing sashimi. Their stuff is always fresh.  Always. A bit too much mayo in the Cali roll tho. Otherwise, highly recommended!

Good quality sushi, reasonable prices. I like that they have daily specials. It's a little cramped and could maybe use a new coat of paint, but I guess this is beside the point.

I think Osaka was missing me. I hadn't been in ages (so many good sushi places in town and a dirt cheap one right across from Osaka) and the owner called me out on it! Asked where I'd been *blush.* Well, truthfully, it has really been bothering me that they never include anything special. They just take my money and I leave. Is this how you really treat regulars?

But, twice this week I found myself starving, and in need of quick fixes. A long time ago, I'd ordered their bento box and had not been impressed. Measly bites of chicken, a California Roll, a few tempura bites and a blah salad. But my hunger was eating away at me and I wanted to eat big! So I ordered a Combo #6, Chicken Teriyaki for take out:

-Chicken teriyaki, crunchy but cooked bean sprouts and a bed of rice- that was soaked through with teriyaki sauce (thank you very much!)
    -tuna, salmon and ebi nigiri
-a big Dynamite Roll (I'm going out on a limb here - best I've ever had at a sushi bar before)
    -Tempura: yam and prawn
-A spring roll (with plum sauce)
-Miso soup: loaded with seaweed and tofu
-And FTW - SEAWEED salad. None of this icky mixed bag salad. No. This was proper seaweed salad. Dare I say, I liked it more than any gomae I've had.

Not only was I overcome by how much food there was, but it was fresh and fricking fantastic! And for all of that I'm bumping them up a star. They deserve it for that. But why won't you listen to me? Just throw in a free miso soup, ice cream or even an orange slice every once in a while... you'll win my heart, since you've already won over my stomach.

Average sushi and speedily prepped.  This is one of numerous sushi restaurants within two minutes from my condo.

Having resolved to try them all, this one was conveniently next door to my movie store.  Made my order, picked a movie and returned to get my sush.

The prices were inexpensive and the food quality decent.  Nothing about the food impressed, but I wasn't disappointed either.  Mediocre is the best accolade I can bestow.

This place is right under my apartment so I would have to say that I come here because it's convenient... but no... I come here because the sushi is consistently good. They have some unique stuff and definitely prices their sashimi at a premium, but they also deliver so it's worth it.
I usually get the stuff I like, nothing to outside of the box here - like their rainbow roll, and unagi, but the fish is fresh, their california rolls are tasty, and their unagi is meaty and has good sauce. I always get a house salad which is a very large portion with avacado and tomatoes, cucumbers and carrots,  in addition to a hefty portion of lettuce and drenched with their ginger dressing (in a good way).
Their service is courteious and prompt, and although you may think that they are not paying attention to your rolls because an intense Canucks playoff game is playing on their TVs, they still deliver.
Even my cousin who lives out in Richmond and works for a sushi grade fish company says that Osaka is one of the best in the city.

There are a few other sushi shops across the street at a cheaper price point, but you can count on Osaka to give you something good.

    Cheap, but not fresh.

The last time I went here for lunch, after I finished eating I was drinking my tea and digesting for probably 2 minutes and the server asked if my friends and I could leave because it was busy at lunch and they needed to free up the table for other customers. But there weren't any other customers waiting.

Kadoya and Samurai are a short walk away on Davie, I suggest going there if you want sushi in this neighborhood. Pay a small amount more for better quality and service.

I'm somewhat new to sushi.  I keep trying it, and while I eat it, I still don't love it.  My husband and I split some kind of tuna-based roll.  In his opinion it was average.  I ate some too, but found it no more or less agreeable than the others that I've tried.

The ambiance is somewhat lacking here, it's on a similar tier to Quiznos.  I wouldn't say fast food, but there's no need to linger here.  Just eat and go.

Osaka is nothing super special, but it fills the bill. They usually offer tea while you're waiting, they're quite friendly, and the food tastes good. I'm not sure how fresh it really is, but I've never had any issues with it.

They have a rather yummy Summer Roll, which is made with cucumber rather than rice - fresh and tasty!

Conveniently located just before the Burrard Street bridge, Sushi Osaka delivers fast service and tasty sushi. Along with a bevy of more traditional tuna and salmon rolls are a host of fusion favourites like California and BC rolls. They also serve all the standard teriyaki dishes that are now so familiar amongst Vancouverites.

Nothing really stood out as being particularly amazing but everything was decent and moderately fresh. With its outdoor patio section, this spot makes a nice retreat in the warmer months when sitting outside is an option. As a whole, though, the food was average. Average but incredibly convenient, the latter of which is sure to guarantee a return visit by many.

The place is very big which is nice, but the first thing that put me off is the color of the place. I'm not sure about you, but dining in a sea-foam-green environment really does not whet my appetite. In fact, sea-foam-green is probably the LEAST appetizing color I could possibly think of. Save it for a doctor's office or a travel agency or something.

It was a very cold night when I came here with my boyfriend so I wasn't in the mood for sushi. I ordered their beef yakisoba. Something in the spice didn't really taste quite right with what I thought yakisoba SHOULD be (and I've noticed that in general, Vancouver's yakisoba pales in comparison to anything I've had in Seattle... but that's just based on what I've had so far!) It was so off-putting that I unfortunately couldn't finish my food.

My boyfriend ordered some sushi and he said that the sushi rice was very dry, as if it had been refridgerated for a few hours before. Unlike the other sushi joints we've been to in Vancouver they didn't have a bar where the "sushi artist" prepares -- we didn't see them make anything, actually.

Doing a google search on "sushi burrard" brings Osaka up several times so I am probably safe to assume people either like it a lot, but I guess I'm not one of those people.

This became my go-to sushi place recently, mainly because it is the closest one to my house, but mostly because I really like it!

As a vegan, I have never had any problems here. They are totally open to my dietary restrictions - at some sushi places I have had to lie and say I am deathly allergic to eggs just to ensure there is no mayo in my rolls!  (and lots of other restaurants too!) Here they seem to have no problems with any changes. Which is nice, because I definitely don't want to eat any animal products.

Ambience is kinda sad. A few weeks ago I was waiting for a take-out order and they had championship darts playing on the tv. That's right, competitive darts. Ugh. I have only eaten in here once, as I much prefer my cozy apartment.

My typical order? brown rice yam & avocado rolls sans mayo. As many as I can eat. :)

Bonus point: the brown rice! Yay! I'm a sucker for places that offer brown rice.

this place is relatively cheap with good quality. The sashimi is overpriced and I typically have a bad waitress. There is nothing outstanding here so I would suggest another place unless you live close or something.

Good sushi and quick service. Their sashimi boat is very tasty and, at least to me, seemed quite fresh. Prices seemed average. One thing that bothered me was the fast food feel to the service. My wife and I visited about 2x a week for sometime seeing that we liked the sushi,
spending alot of money there, and it felt like we were rushed in and out of the place.

This is our go to restaurant whenever we need a quick bite to eat and are too lazy to venture far. They are inexpensive and have quick service and decent quality food.
