Best sushi I've found in the Comox Valley.  Owner's a great guy.  Quite busy which seems to keep it super fresh.  Tip - get it to go, along with a couple of Japanese beers from the beer store across the street.  Tuna sashimi melted in my mouth - that's always the ultimate test of a sushi place for me...How good are the basics.  Can't go wrong here.

Very good sushi with limited seating (11 inside, 8 outside) so mostly take away.

    Very reasonable prices.

Very busy so expect a wait. But when, after finishing our initial order, I asked for awabi nigiri (abalone), Sam, the ebullient sushi master, presented me with not only the awabi but with a pair of wonderful sake nigiri (salmon).

    Fresh and very tasty.

Yum yum YUM in my tum tum TUM! I used to live in Vancouver, home of the Good Sushi™ and this place gives almost anywhere in Vancouver a run for it's money. I'm a big fan of sushi, have eaten it pretty much everywhere I've traveled (not such a good idea that), and I'm thrilled that there's a great place to get it in my home town.

The restaurant is *tiny*. Seats 8-9 maybe. So plan on take-out, and if you're ordering dinner, give yourself at least an hour and a half for your meal to be ready to be picked up.

Sam and the staff at Sushi Kobo are super friendly, lovely people.

If you like sushi you can't go wrong with Sushi Kobo.

Like the other reviewer said, this place is very, very small, with very, very slow service. Why the four stars then? Because if you're looking for takeout sushi in Comox, this is a great choice...

Having lived in Vancouver for 8 years prior to moving to Comox, some of the island sushi joints are a bit wanting. But Kobo delivers the goods... this is pretty high-grade sushi, prepared with care and precision, with reasonable prices, considering.

Just be aware it closes very early in the winter, and you likely have a 45 minute to hour wait for most orders.
