    This place is hidden and quite delicious.  I always order take out from there when I visit my grandma.  My grandma really doesn't eat anything except for chinese food, but she always mooches some sushi off me when I order from here!  Totally says sometime about the taste!  I'm a regular.

    1. Great prices, comparing to others in Vancouver;
    2. Great quality;
    3. Nice, friendly personnel.
    Let's put it this way:
    The BEST sushi for what you pay for. A $25 sushi/sashimi platter can feed two very hungry people )) Good value for your buck.
    I do recommend this place if you like good sushi.
    /But for gourmet sushi - look somewhere else/

    This is East Van's answer to Sushi Garden/Sushi Town if you don't want to drive all the way to Burnaby ;)

    Ordered the Awesome Roll; avocado, crabmeat, cucumber roll w/ BBQ salmon, green onions on top (which could've been more haha), drizzled w/ their special sauce.  Again, a bit on the pinchy side, as more is usually better in this case.

    For $7.95, pretty reasonable, and nice to have their bamboo fence for the 3 tables along the wall, a bit more private.

    All in all, a nice, clean, friendly, Korean-owned sushi place, prob. the nicest one along this stretch of Kingsway.

    I'll be back.

    I have been to Sushi Bay twice now & love their sushi at very reasonable prices ;-) Tonight we had Unagi, House roll (yum!), mixed tempura, miso, dynamite roll, salmon roll - all of it was delish! Even better than I remember last time.

    Definitely a fan!

    A friend brought some take out home to share and I had thought they'd gone to some super expensive swank place in Gastown or Yaletown!!  I tried a sushi roll that was deep fried with an amazing sauce over top and something that looked like a new twist on sashimi.  Instead of lame boring rice supporting the raw fish, there was a tempuraed rice paddy supporting the sashimi and striped with fantastic sauce. (Don't ask me what kind because I don't know!)  For take out the presentation was phenomenal and makes me wonder how much more amazing it will be on location!

    Thank you Sushi Bay, I may just like sushi again, but only yours :)

    Sushi Bay truly caught me off guard today and I'm impressed with their playful and creative menu. Cute items such as "Hokey Pucks On Fire" made the special rolls section a fun read. Everything sounded so good so the server enthusiastically recommended two deep fried offerings. One, a rice-free crab and cream cheese roll (crazy talk) and the second, sashimi served on tempura-battered rice and drizzled with spicy mayo. It's refreshing to see a break from traditional Japanese since I eat it so often.

    The food tasted...(wait for it)...awesome!

    In summary, I'm impressed. The presentation was pro and the taste was fab. Haha... "In Summary." The Kensington Cedar Cottage rules.

    Today the rolls were falling apart and wasn't as tasty as I remembered the last time. The spicy tuna roll was also a bit fishy tasting. The prawn tempura was good. On the Alaska roll they put the Japanese salad dressing on it yuck! It was like two different chef's bad one today and better one last time. I might not come back here.

    Delicious food with friendly service.  Serves the best takoyaki I've had in the city so far (not too doughy).  The sushi was good too, with some novel selections.  The clam wasn't tough or rubbery.

    I had a little trouble one night where they were critically understaffed, but all was forgiven after the food arrived.  Definitely worth a try.

    OMG! This place is just awesome... We just moved a couple of blocks away from this place several days ago and we are already regular customers. I personally don't like sushi that much, but boy did this place change my perception, first of all: It is not your typical crammed up sushi place (you know those places, 4 tiny tables that can barely fit in the space and the sushi bar) it is quite spacious and it is always very very clean, every 2 out of 3 times I've been there I see the server tidying up the place (I am a cook and know how dirty a restaurant can get first hand) it is always nice to know that they take the time to dust a bit or sweep the floors.
    The plating is always nice, excellent! Portions are just splendid and the price is great (yesterday I had 2 spicy tuna tempura rolls, one mango and prawn roll and agadashi tofu, plus 2 pops, I did not pay more than 20 bucks) and the portions are good.
    The servers are so nice and the cook always seems to be in a good mood (I hate cranky staff, it ruins your meal, no matter how good the food is, here it is not the case) The dining experience is great, mostly because of the fact that the place does not look bad at all, one of the nicest sushi places I have been to... Like Eric Cartman once said... I'm seriously you guys!

    Recommendations:

    Spicy tuna tempura roll (one of the best in the city) round 4 bucks
    Yam Roll (huge!) like 3 bucks
    Cucumber roll (simple but perfect, and cheap) less than 2 bucks
    Tofu roll (tiny, crunchy, tasty) like $2.50

    The mango, prawn and cucumber roll is really good to, but honestly at 6 bucks it seems a bit too overpriced... I don't know why, it is the most expensive roll there, but it is good, I would not buy one for myself though, just to share.

    I will sure be coming down more often to this place (I already sneak out of my house from time to time in secret and quickly eat a yummy spicy tuna tempura roll without my girl noticing when I don't want to eat her food)

    Oops...

    I love sushi bay!
