    Beautiful venue!

My best friend got wedded here and what a beautiful place to have it!  Floor to ceiling windows overlooking the golf course, amazing garden for the ceremony, and great food.

The staff was pretty accommodating to our set up and helped as much as they could.  Service was efficient and friendly.

You don't expect much from buffet food, but this place did a great job!  Most buffets, the food gets dry and it's always just.... blah!  I surprised to notice that the meats were cooked perfectly and their food probably hasn't been sitting in a hot box for hours.

I wow recommend this place for anyone looking for event planning.

I don't golf, but I've eaten lunch several times at the Surrey Golf Club and never had so much as a bad minute. The servers are great, the food is tasty and cheap, and on sunny days, you can't beat their big patio overlooking the course - and miles beyond.

I feel like I'm giving away a secret by writing about it. It's your basic pub lunch - sandwiches, burgers, wraps, big salads, fish and chips. The burgers are huge and come with your choice of sides. Ditto the wraps. As I usually come here with co-workers, I've settled on the chicken strips and fries, which can be safely delivered to my face without too much of a mess, and a glass of Pinot Gris.

One tip: I'm told the chef is different on Mondays, so come any other day for the best eats.

I played this course for the first time a couple a weeks ago, and was impressed with the course. Listed below are some comments about the course:

    Pro's:
    * Decent price-started my twilight round @ 6:30pm and played through 15 holes
    * Pace of play was wide open-Although I started the round late, the course was open and was able to play the majority of the course
    * Drains pretty good - It was raining the day before and the day I had played the course, but the course dried up pretty well. The fairways were in decent shape, and the greens were pretty good condition (no puddles)
    * Layout can be challenging- the layout of each hole is pretty straight forward, but there are some holes that are long and challenging (i.e. 10th hole and 5th hole)

    Con's:
    * Rough not so forgiving-The fairways were in pretty good condition, but when I did miss a fairway the balls were deep in the rough and covered in mud. So if your not a straight shooter, play conservative.

Overall, I enjoyed the course, and will definitely play it when I'm back in the area.

Fifteen years later the Gleneagles members located some broader and flatter pastures for golf in Richmond and he was among the movers and shakers who developed the Richmond Country Club. His next involvement was in 1964 as a minor shareholder in the syndicate that built another Richmond landmark, Green Acres Golf Course.
