A recent brunch visit has prompted an additional star.  I took out of town guests to Supper on Saturday for brunch.  I ordered the dixie biscuit:  two scrambled eggs, country ham and pimento cheese on cathead biscuit with white grits and pickles.  As someone who has to work really hard to remind myself to eat slowly, when I come across a dish that is so good I have to do nothing else but pause and savor, I take notice.  The Dixie Biscuit was just this dish.  I could not eat it slowly enough, not wanting to finish!!!

I also loved the old school cereal buffet, with throwbacks like count chocula and booberries, how can you go wrong!

I was in Philadelphia shooting a portrait session for a couple of my clients who I would definitely categorize as "foodies."  They picked Supper based on my request for something not fancy and casual.  I wouldn't really categorize Supper like that, it wasn't overly dressy but the menu definitely had some sophistication.  Unfortunately for a guy like me who could live off of a kid's menu, sophistication doesn't always translate in palatability.  There really wasn't much on the menu that immediately sounded good to me, so being the true kid's menu aficionado that I am I settled on their $19 burger.  That's right, it was $19.  So the most interesting thing about it was this piece of crispy ham that was on it, which made it pretty flavorful, although maybe a bit too overwhelmingly hammy.  It came out cooked a little more done than medium is to me, but it was still pretty good.  The duck fat fries were also good, but I'm not sure it was necessary to tell me they were cocked in duck fat- but I guess it did add to the gourmet nature of everything.

Our meals took forever to come out, and the owner or manager or whatever did visit us a couple of times apologizing for the delay.  We got a free dessert out of it, and decided on carrot cake which we split between the 3 of us.  It came out deconstructed which was a little unusual, but it was very good.

The interior of the place was modern and cool, and the service was good.

Exceptional Kale Salad and Rabbit. Pinot Noir was an excellent wine for the price. I think they do a really amazing job of everything at Supper. My one complaint is that it is a limited menu for your vegetarian friends who want to join you for dinner.

Every meal I've had at Supper has been excellent.   Looking back, their duck and waffles stand out as my favorite of their dishes, though their truffled deviled eggs are a close second.  I've had an amazing carrot soup in an oblong bowl, one wall of which was coated in toasted marshmallow.  I'm also dying to try their burger.  Next time!

My most recent visit was for brunch, and it was excellent.  Their Bloody Mary is the first I've ever enjoyed, it tasted like cocktail sauce (and I mean that in a great way).  I had the Supper Benny, their take on Eggs Benedict, which is served on crispy fried grit cakes and was wonderful.  My girlfriend got the Dixie Biscuit, which was an incredibly good biscuit with eggs, ham and an awesome pimento cheese with a side of perfect, chunky cheddar grits.  So, so good.

    Highly recommended!

I loved this place from the second I walked through the door. It manages to feel upscale but comfortable and casual at the same time...just like the food. They take something as comfortable as chicken and waffles and make their own version instead... duck and pecan sage waffles...heaven. Then there's the deviled eggs. They take a plain old deviled egg and turn it into pickled truffle deviled eggs which are so incredible that I figured out how to make my own version and serve them whenever I can.

My most recent trip to Supplier was for brunch and I was yet again super impressed. First they make one of the best bloody marys I've ever had. I stuck with the original but they had many versions with Bourbon and tequila! Next I had the dixie biscuit which was great. It was a biscuit, with scrambled egg, pimento cheese, country ham and grits. YUM! My boyfriend had the supper benny which was also fantastic and I don't generally love eggs Benedict.

To sum up, Supper is a restaurant you can go to get a consistently great meal in Philly. It has an amazing feel, great atmosphere and very good food!

I was in town for work and went to Supper for dinner.....or supper....I suppose.  :)  Started out with the Deviled Eggs.  They were good.  Very unique take on deviled eggs.  EAch one is different.....you get 4 halves of an egg.  Also had the Carrot and Orange soup.  It was delicious and very filling.  Would definitely order that again.  For my main course I went with the Duck and Waffles.  Sooo good.  Just the right amount of sweetness.  Get ready to spend some cash....but overall it was an excellent meal so I can't complain too much.  I left very full and satisfied with everything.

I had the most amazing brunch at Supper. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but everything was perfect.

I ordered the Skillet Mushroom Toast: the toast was thick and crisp on the edges, with goat cheese gratinate between the fried egg on top. So amazing, and the portion was just right. It even comes in a tiny skillet. Note, this dish isn't ideal for those with a huge appetite.

Can't wait to get back. Oh Philly, you have the best brunch spots.

I went to Supper for a dinner date on Saturday night, and really enjoyed it. Good food and good service.

We ordered the smoked chicken wings as an appetizer, and they were amazing. Hot, tender, juicy chicken wings generously covered in a sweet glaze, but then coated with black pepper so there was a spicy kick cutting through the sweetness.

At Supper, the server walks around with a large basket of bread and offers you selections from the various loaves they have. We tried the ciabatta and the garlic Italian. The ciabatta was good, but not extraordinary; the garlic Italian bread was amazing. Garlic cloves were baked right into the bread, imparting a strong flavor. The bread was warm and chewy, and a bit of butter complemented it perfectly. We requested more of the bread because it was soooo good.

For entrees, I ordered the duck & waffles (Supper's signature dish) and my boyfriend ordered the Supper burger. The pecan sage waffle in my dish was unique, but I think they were a bit too heavy handed with the maple bourbon au jus, because my waffle was falling apart as it was so saturated in the au jus. The duck leg was tender and moist, and easily fell apart with minimal cutting. The skin was flavorful, but contained too much fat for my liking so I left it. The maple au jus imparted a nice sweet touch to the duck confit.

I didn't try much of the burger, but my boyfriend reported it was good, albeit a bit too tall (with everything piled on it) to eat properly. I did try the duck fat potato wedges served alongside the burger, which were really good - albeit a bit heavy on the salt.

We were tempted to order dessert, but ultimately decided we were too full. I would definitely go back - maybe for brunch!

Supper has the feel of a locavore, farm-to-table restaurant, and I believe it is. They had what I believe was a harvest menu that gave you a 3-course vegetarian meal that sourced all of its ingredients from a local market that day.

Anyhow, the food emanating from the kitchen smelled great, and the serving sizes were pretty nice. The service was solid. The restaurant has two levels, and each level had its own bar.

    To the food:
    Appetizer: smoked chicken wings
Entrees: duck & waffles and lamb shank posole
Dessert: oatmeal raisin pie w/ brown butter ice cream

The smoked chicken wings were fantastic. Juicy wings w/ lots of flavor.

I really liked the duck & waffles. According to the waiter, this is the restaurant's signature dish. The maple flavor in the sauce was a really nice touch.

The lamb shank was the weak link in the meal. It was still decent, but I have higher expectations for my meat shanks. I'd recommend passing and trying another dish.

The oatmeal raisin pie was a special for the night. I hope they make it a regular staple of the menu. It's like the one of the best oatmeal raisin cookies you've ever had morphed into pie form. And the brown butter ice cream was just perfect.

The smoked chicken wings and oatmeal raisin pie were my favorite parts of the meal. No question about it.

I definitely want to come back to Supper to try some of their other dishes and desserts. It is a bit pricier than most Philly restaurants, but I'd say it's worth it.

So brunch. Let's talk about it, I'm a big brunch-er. It's basically the only meal I consistently eat (you just think about that!) so when I'm inclined to highlight a new (for me) place to go out and get your brunch on please understand the weight of it all. Are you on board? ok. great.

I've been living just a stone's through from Supper for about 5 years now. I had gone in previous times for dinners and been contented, but the food was pricey and I was poor, as well as the food being a little tiny. Now I can't tell you if they changed the regular menu (I'll be back for that review in time) but I can tell you that the brunch menu suffers from none of these issues. The portions are decent, combinations thoughtful and mouthwatering, and the prices are only on the slightly higher end of brunch-odelphia pricing. ie. affordable but let's not go every day.

I had: supper benny- it was by far some of the best benedict I've had this year and it's simply because of the fresh take on an old stand by. Instead of canadian bacon, poached egg, hollandaise and english muffin. this one's rocking: grits cakes, country ham (like a thin sliced prosciutto's cousin) and sautéed greens. It gave me the feeling I was doing something healthy for myself (I wasn't) and was still every bit of deliciousness I was seeking. I sided up with some hush puppies (because no one carries them, and I was looking for some deep fried cornmeal heaven- and that's exactly what I received. They were literally perfect. And then I started the meal in on a conversation about the supreme lack of hush puppies in the Philadelphia area. (some people at the table didn't even know what they were, for shame) So massive kudos to Supper for not only having them, but also rocking them.

My partners in brunch had a variety of things, best among them seemed to be chilaquiles navidad and the french toast- which I think they flip because the one on their website was different than the one at my table, but they were both rediculously delicious and well received by all parties.

So bottom line. Totally brunchable. totally happy we went. and will definitely be making some return visits for updates on other brunch things, and probably dinner so you can get a well rounded unbiased vision of everything they serve.

I hate to write negative reviews during RW but i was very peeved that Supper rapes coffee drinkers.
At the end of what I thought was a lovely meal I was charged $5.00 for a single espresso and that dropped this review down a half star. I get it they use Stumpdown and all that jazz but i have never ever paid 5.00 for a single espresso in my life ANYWHERE.

On a positive note my dinner and service was absolutely delightful. We arrived a few minutes after our reservation but were seated right away at a table literally in front of the kitchen. I appreciate an open kitchen so i can gaze at the magic happening before it lands on my plate, then in my stomach.
I started my night off with a Franklin Mortgage crafted cocktail i can't recall the name but its the only one made with Gin. The drink featured a component i had never heard of before cream yvette. i inquired and the server explained it was made from violets and adds something unique to the drink that and the gin pretty much sold me.

    Apps
Pretzels -or pretzel i should say was good but more than one would have been greatly appreciated.
Devlied eggs - the chile was subtle which i liked and the yolk was very creamy i enjoyed them very much.

    Soup/Salad
Sweet potato soup had a creamy texture and had a vinegary bite but the sweetness of the "marshmallow" played off that which i really enjoyed.
The herb salad wasn't what i expected i was anticipating  a little more herbage and less lettuce leaves the salad was great but it just had a sprinkling of dill so i really wouldn't call it and herb salad. The buttermilk dressing and the hush puppy dipping sauce were to die. The hush puppy not so much i've had better but this one was a little dry and lacked a little salt. i did appreciate the sweet granny smith apples that were scatter about they gave a nice element of sweetness to the dish.

    Mains
Market fish today was salmon, it had a  crust outside of the skin that was crispy and very flavorful. The salmon was great for restaurant style salmon a little rare on the inside. The salmon came on top  of a creamy rice and what i can only assume was swiss chard or spinach or a mixture of both. The rice was a little chilly on the outside of the plate but directly beneath the salmon it was warm and gooey. Though i enjoyed the dish i left something on the  plate as to save room for dessert. My dining companion did the chicken and said the flavor of the crust was spot on ,he was just a little disappointed at how dry the leg was.( the fried chicken was a breast piece and leg ) The chicken came on top of a bed of pickled veggies some were crisp and satisfying others not so much and the russian dressing was a little bitter.

    Dessert
Probably my second favorite course of the night. The marscapone cheese cake was balls out good , creamy , velvety and with just a hint of lemon made it slightly tart. A mixture of fruit compote with pears, dried cherries came on top in what i think was an apricot jam sauce, and it was devine. The banana bread pudding stole my heart and made me forget about that cheese cake. The pudding was warm and still had whole chunks of banana the nutella drizzle was excellent ( i mean who doesn't like nutella)

I was satisfied after this meal but not overly stuffed. The vibe of the restaurant was chill and cool. The decor was comfy and chic all at the she time and offered something different from the rest of the jaunts on south street. The lighting changed a few times throughout the meal and made for a more romantic atmosphere.
Our service was great and i couldn't have asked for a better place to have dinner on the last day of restaurant week.

My only gripe of course is the coffee. Id also like to see a few more wine by the glass options the prices are a little steep for the types of wines they are serving,

I would love to come back to try some of the regular menu,, including Supper Sundays which i hear offers BYOB no corkage and a pretty good deal on some good food.
This restaurant does offer the option of BYOB however they rape you on that too by charging $20. per bottle with the exception of wednesday and sunday when corkage is free.

The Elite Event that was held at Supper a couple years ago, and the cocktails that I had enjoyed during a Yelp Drinks Week left a strong enough impression for me to realize that I needed to try it for a meal experience. And Chef Mitch Prensky's name popping up among the Philly food elite list made it even more of a fact. But alas my being a slacker in most situations put that visit on the back burner.

But when my folks asked for my help in choosing a spot to enjoy my Mom's birthday in, the artistic farmhouse atmosphere and modern American cuisine of Supper felt like a perfect candidate. And overall it delivered a fantastic experience.

The seasonal menu leads to some semi frequent changes. But it always delivers a welcoming variety that's stacked with plenty of farm fresh ingredients and deviled eggs of the day. the bar offers 7 solid beers, and impressive wine list, and signature coktails that come from the Franklin Mortgage & Investment Co. crew.

For a starter we split a round of mini pastries that were filled with bacon, cheese, and a bit of sunnyside egg that oozed yolk. I really wish they were listed among the websites hors d'oeurvres so I could relive the memory properly (and possibly replicate). for the entree I was torn between the scallops, duck & waffles, and the cornmeal crusted catfish. But when it came down to it the grits cakes, BBQ crab, green tomatoes, and warm country ham dressing led to an explosion of Southern ingredients that sounded too good to pass up! And while it may sound like a dish where that delivered to many clashing components, each one managed to add onto and compliment the others beautifully.

While I normally don't add sides onto a main course; things like duck fat fried potatoes, spicy yam fritters, and cornbread hush puppies made it seem mandatroy at Supper. And the farm fresh cabbage that was cooked with apples in bacon fat led to a true winner! for good measure we picked up a cheese plate for dessert. and it led to a tomme, a camembert, and Humboldt Fog being spread out among crackers, flatbreads, nuts, and farm fresh preserves and honey. It definitely made for a good parting shot to a satisfying experience!

Cute place for dinner. This place reminds me of Chicago restaurants and I really enjoyed it. We ordered the hush puppies (large and yummy but not a fan of the sauce) and the burger. The cheese on the burger was very good! The burgers are huge so you could definitely share them. And then for dessert we had the warm apple cobbler. Delicious!!

This is a cute date night restaurant!

Brunch is probably my favorite meal. Simply because the possibilities are endless. Sweet, savory, breakfast, lunch, dinner foods all intermingled in one glorious meal. That being said, Supper has a pretty fantastic brunch.

First of all, it's very homey. In fact, when I'm there, I kind of feel like I'm in my apartment. I like the modern but warm decor, and the round pendant lights really do remind me of a home. They also have a cereal buffet (come to think of it, I'm not sure they still do this)... talk about feeling at home. But then again, you don't really come to Supper to eat Frosted Flakes.

    Now on to the food:

    - Super Benny - I love eggs benedict. But they're so hard to find done right. In fact, this is how I judge if I like the restaurant's brunch, I compare eggs benedict, and the ones here are really good.

    - Red Velvet Waffles - Not over the top sweet, but very aromatic (I'm not sure that's the right word, but that's what Chinese people say).

    - Mushroom toast - Quite delicious. In a small skillet, topped with egg, creamy mushrooms.

    - Supper dog - I happen to really like hot dogs. But then you have hot dogs wrapped in bacon. So good! The fried pickles are good too.

    - Cornbread hush puppies - Piping hot and flavorful. Worth burning the roof of your mouth for.

Definitely try it out. I only wish I could show up in my pajamas, some slippers, and the daily newspaper.

    Supper on a Friday night!

    More like 3.5 stars.

I had a reservation, but oddly, the restaurant wasn't that packed, making me slightly  nervous. However, I had a pretty good experience.

Of course I tried the deviled eggs. I think they had Truffle, Horse Radish, and some others..haha. It was my first experience with deviled eggs, and they were good. Not really sure if I would get them again, though. Maybe I had expected too much.

My friend and I tried the Duck and Waffles and Supper Burger. Now, you might say, "you got a BURGER?" but really it was good. Both dishes were really, really good. If I go next time, I might even get them again and forgo the other items.

I tried the coconut (not banana) bread pudding (good) and some lemon pie (also good). Bread pudding was good, but not extraordinary.

Also, they gave good wine portions as well.

I asked Supper to help me host my wife's surprise 30th birthday party at their restaurant. I have to say that this was the best experience I have had at a restaurant for a group of roughly 15 people, ever. I did a lot of research in the city before selecting Supper and I was glad I did.  Supper had the most reasonable pricing and service available. The space was very nice and the atmosphere was very laid back.  The menu was pre-fixed and custom selected.  They provided us a large space upstairs so that our friends and family could not see us arrive (This was still in the main dining area, not a private room). Molly was fantastic and responded immediately to any questions or comments I had.  Everyone raved about the food and stated that it was a fantastic four course meal with perfect portions.

    Here was my dinner:

First Course: The Fingerlings cooked in duck fat with truffle mayo. Duck fat is all the rave nowadays. So I have high expectations when it comes to potatoes in duck fat. These were very good, crisp on the outside and soft in the middle, seasoned well and you received a hint of truffle from the mayo. If I had an issue it was there weren't enough of these on my plate!

Second Course: BE Farm greens & herb salad containing apples, smoked chicken cracklins, cornbread & buttermilk dressing. This was a pretty good salad. Wasn't over dressed and the smoked cracklins were delicious and definitely made the salad with that smoky crispiness; and come on, who doesn't love fried chicken skin! Only complaint was the 2 small slices of Italian bread mixed within the salad. This felt disjointed and I didn't understand why they were there.
(I was also able to try my wife's sweet potato soup. It was awesome and the apples and sage were a perfect touch to the soup.)

Third Course:  The hanger steak with baby spinach, marrow bread pudding, horseradish cream & pickled red onions. This was a delicious plate of food. The steak was cooked perfectly and not too tough, as hanger steak can get when cooked improperly. The horseradish cream and pickled onions were also a nice touch and a good accompaniment to the meat. The marrow bread pudding was good, but wasn't anything that knocked my socks off.

Fourth Course:  The warm apple cobbler with biscuit topping & buttermilk ice cream. This was a great cobbler and what made this cobbler was the buttermilk ice cream. Oh man was that good. I could eat a gallon of that stuff and not even think twice about it. It was very rich, creamy and smooth. Everything a gut busting ice cream should be! The ice cream was so good, I think I started to weep.

Overall:  This was a wonderful experience and I appreciated everything they did for us. The service was fantastic and the food was excellent. No complaints from anyone in the party. I would definitely return to Supper and it appears it needs to be for Brunch!  However, I do want to get after those deviled eggs, they looked delicious as well.

Cheers to everyone at Supper and thanks for making my wife's birthday amazing!

I wish I could rate separately for brunch and well, supper.  I like brunch here more than I do their dinner fare.  The portions here aren't that generous, though the food is quite good.  I've had their duck and waffles.  The duck was cooked perfectly, and the maple jus was a nice touch (and fortunately, not too sweet to overwhelm the duck or the waffles).  I was disappointed with how small the plates were though, and even though I also had some deviled eggs as appetizers, I left Supper still hungry.

Brunch on the other hand, is much better than the dinner (I'd give a 4 for the brunch).  Who can turn down red velvet waffles?  And I like that this place has a lot of seating (including a second level) so if you come here for brunch it's not like you really have to wait, at least in my experience.

My fellow lady coworkers and I kicked off a monthly ritual (or so we say) of grabbing brunch together one Sunday a month. To forget about the "shop" talk for a few hours and get down to what really matters - Food & Life (Outside of work - Cause it does exist!)

Any who's we have a couple of preggers in the mix so we wanted to keep it simple, delicious and American - Supper was the pick! I've been meaning to try this restaurant ever since it opened a few years ago but moved up to the Fairmount area and never looked back .. Until now that is. Disappointed I was not.

3 out of the 7 of us actually made it to the table that Sunday afternoon. Place was spotless, roomy and inviting. I indulged in several cups of joe (nursing hangover- waiter never left my cup empty!)and the Supper Frittata. As usual, I could not make up my mind about what type of fillings I wanted in my Frittata so I consulted the waiter for his favorites & I went for it!! Queso Fresco and Housemade Chorizo with a side of delish hashbrowns and fresh toast.

Perfect afternoon date with my lady friends ....Outside of our company's walls! I will definitely be back to Supper.

Its very tasty and the staff are knowledgeable and nice, but.. some entrees are small enough to be an appetizer at a gourmet cuisine, some dishes have way too many spices  that you dont really enjoy the flavor of main ingredients. The waiters are nice, but they take way too long. we received our drinks after appetizers and bread with our main course. I would go back for drinks on the bar since it have a nice atmosphere, but not dinner.

I only went there for Valentine's Day and there was a Prix Fix so I'll reserve full judgement for another time.

The food was very good, the atmosphere was romantic, warm and inviting, lively but not noisy.

I had the Crab Hush Puppies, Love Letter Pasta, and the Scallops.  Each dish was well prepared, properly cooked and unique in it's flavor combinations.

Like I said, it was a prix fix, so it's tough to render a full judgement as I may have chosen a different set of dishes on a more expansive menu.

Overall it was good warrants a follow up visit for a more thorough examination of the food.

I'm not sure if we were there on an "off night", so I can't totally diss this place, but we were not impressed with the food.  I had the pork shoulder entree and it was incredibly salty.  The atmosphere was lovely and we had high expectations given the other yelp reviews, but the salty food was a real let down.  The thing is, that was the only thing wrong with it, if they had not used so much salt, my meal would have been delicious.  I wouldn't recommend this place b/c I was disappointed with both my meal as well as the lamb entree - both very salty, but it has good reviews so perhaps the chef was sick that night.  I don't know??

    Recommendation:

Keep the menu, but lose half of the salt you are using - it's way too much and overpowers the real flavor of the meat and vegetables.

I eat out a LOT. It is my thing and no budget can stop me. I've eaten at 5 star, high roller restaurants, food trucks, fast food, holes in the wall, airport food, buffet food. All over the place. My stomach is iron-clad. My palate is quite reliable.

That being said, Supper was underwhelming. There are restaurants like this on every corner of San Francisco and I've had about a gazillion New American style dinners. Something was off about this one.

If I were to find myself in town again and offered the opportunity to visit, I would stop by for a drink, but not much else.

This place has the BEST BURGERS in philly!! I can't even put my finger on what made the difference but the burger I had here last friday night was better than the half o' dozen burgers I've tried at village whiskey, the 10+ rouge burgers I've had over the past few years, the butcher & singer burger, monk's, and even some notable burger joints in LA and NY. I know this restaurant is constantly changing up their menu but I really hope they keep the burger exactly they way I had it.  I don't recall what exact cut of beef they made the burger from but it was some premium dry aged prime cut - hence the $19 price tag. It was served with crispy canadian ham, a whole lot of gruyere cheese, and a peeled roasted roma tomato on a brioche bun. When paired with the housemade pickles on the side and the truffle mayo that came with the fries, the deliciousness hits speechless.

On to the less impressive, but still above average, rest of the meal...the duck fat fries that came with the burger were just ok, i think they were fried for just a few seconds too long and lacked flavor. The chicken wing appetizers were pretty amazing, just wished there had been more than four little bites of it. The cocktails were a so-so attempt at creativity. My friend's salmon dish was also just good but not great.

I came with a friend to Supper right as they were about to close; we just asked if they were open but didn't really expect them to say yes. The service was great, and didn't stop although we had come in so late, which I really appreciated.

The entire meal was great, and uniquely flavorful. Although the meal was a bit ago, I still remember the dishes: the Deviled Eggs, Smoked Sweet Potato Soup (is there anything better than a marshmellow in your soup?) and the banana bread pudding were all out of this world good. Realistically though, I don't think you could go wrong as nearly everything I tasted, I wanted more from. I would definitely recommend Supper if you're looking for a nice restaurant worth the money.

So brunch is pretty much my favorite meal of the day. I could eat breakfast food all day long, and I never quite ever know what to pick from the menu, do you go with the eggs a be healthy-ish and eat salty? Or do you go with the pancakes / waffles / french toast and give some more money to your dentist? Or do you carb load and go the bagel way? Ahhhh. Such tough decisions!

Either way, if you go to Supper, you've already made 1/2 of the right choice. It was FANTASTIC.  Especially on a gross winter day like today.  First of all, the inside of the restaurant is gorgeous. I mean GORGEOUS.  Really warm, inviting, warm colors, beautiful windows.  Makes me want to sit and eat there all day long.  Also, I like that you can see into the kitchen.  Makes it all feel very homey.  Unsure of what is upstairs, but I'm sure it's equally cozy.  Once we were seated, we ordered the apple cider donuts, and it was one of the best decisions made.  They were spectacular.  They come with little slices of apples on top, and a delicious cream.  They are like adult legal crack.  One can't stop once one starts.  Plus, they aren't like donut donuts - they are like little dumping goodness.  Get them, you won't be sorry.

Next I tried the pumpkin french toast (honestly I was between the french toast, the waffles, the eggs benedict, deviled eggs, and bagel - which is like half the menu).  That was amazing! The french toast itself was unlike any other I've had, and the little pieces of pie crust and pumpkin that came along the side of it - were all just to die for.  I mean I really couldn't have asked for ANYTHING else in the world.  It's all I wanted, and it's all I could have needed this morning.

My friends tried the eggs benedict and the NY brunch bagel spread and were pretty darn happy with all of it. I'm going to have to go back for  brunch and eat my way through the damn menu.

Thanks a lot supper. My income and waistline just went in opposite directions.  But at least I'm content!

Absolutely fabulous brunch today. Had the  skillet roasted mushroom toast and nothing like the name implies it would be but so delicious! Can't wait to go back for brunch -- but really need to try their dinner now too!

Came in for brunch on a Saturday afternoon, around 1-1:30 PM.  It was not crowded at all, but don't let that deter you.  I was tempted by the cereal bar.  While someone below said, "why pay $6 for capn crunch plus tax and tip?", I say "why not pay $6 for cap'n crunch and every other amazing childhood cereal, all you can eat!"  It seems like a kitschy thing for Supper to do.

But alas, I resisted.  We had the deviled eggs for an app.  I just do not like deviled eggs I think, but my boyfriend looooved them.  You can definitely taste the difference among all the types.  My fave was the one with bacon.

Then we shared the pumpkin french toast and the red velvet waffles.  Pumpkin french toast was amazing.  You could taste pumpkin flavors and spices in the bread.  It wasn't a huge serving at first glance, but plenty to keep you full.  The red velvet waffles, in contrast, were a really huge serving.  The cream cheese creme or whatever it was on top was so rich and delightful.  The waffles themselves were pretty ordinary in taste, despite being that deep red color.  I never really thought red velvet tasted that different though.

Service was excellent; super attentive server, refilled water at all times.

Definitely want to try the other items on the brunch menu sometime!

On the recommendation of our chatty waiter, we started the dinner off with a bottle of Sebastiani zin, which was surprisingly good.  The deviled eggs were great, the hush puppy side was forgettable.  I had the duck as my main course and it was fabulous.  Tried the salmon, which was good, but not as good as the duck.  Very friendly service... a bit pricey, but a great experience nonetheless.

I'm going to put it this way: there wasn't really anything wrong with my experience here. It just wasn't my kind of place.

I joined some friends here for brunch before a wedding we were going to. I had woken up extremely early and couldnt wait to eat so I went to Honey's. By the time I got to Supper, I wasn't hungry enough yet and I just got the granola and yogurt parfait. the granola is supposedly homemade, and it was pretty good. maybe i'm not a "foodie," and maybe this is blaspehemy, but i'd prefer granola from a box. but hey...for one of the cheaper more straight forward things, i guess i can't complain.

i will say to stay away from the cereal bar. it is literally a bunch of boxes of cereal (cap'n crunch, etc.) and even though it's all you can eat, do you really want to pay $6 plus tax and tip to eat some cap'n crunch?

the service was extremely attentive, my water glass and my friends coffee was never empty. when we made a one off comment to each other about the slight wobbly-ness of our table, the server overheard and was immediately over remedying the situation.

Basically, Supper seems like the kind of place I want to come back to try for dinner, but I'd rather save the $9 at Supper for a parfait and get a heaping plate of eggs, bacon, and potatoes at Honey's for brunch

This rating is for brunch. It never disappoints. Ever. I always leave feeling so satisfied.

First of all ... two words: BLOODY MARIA. I never want to drink another vodka bloody mary! Their tequila version is amaaaaazing. The bourbon version is also good and a nice twist.

The first time I came here, I got the Dixie Biscuit. It is a hearty Southern comfort food feeling that leaves your stomach feeling warm and fuzzy. My friend got the fritatta with chorizo and cheese - also delicious. Love the iron skillet it came in.

My second time here, I got the huevos rancheros-esque dish. And I could not stop eating it. Went perfectly with my Bloody Maria. I also tasted the special of the day, which was basically eggs benedict with smoked salmon and capers. It was good, but I definitely wanted to go back to my huevos. Also, this trip I learned that "hash browns" are actually home fries here ... There is a difference, and we were expecting hash browns. That was the only disappointment.

I wish Supper was open for lunch.

OK, service stepped up their game ( we got the same guy and he was much more attentive- maybe he was hungover or something the last time we saw him on a Sunday morning).

In addition, we had dinner and the food was fab!  LOVED LOVED LOVED the duck and waffles.  The maple bourbon glaze, the perfectly cooked duck, and a homestyle waffle... it just worked.  And the burger- why is Supper not on the burger map?  It was big, juicy, and came with some awsome duck fat fries.  Of course we ordered dessert and we were more than pleased with the banana bread pudding with a nutella sorbet.  Yum Yum Yum

I haven't even gotten to the best part!!  Supper is BYO on Sunday nights so we got out of there for around $50.  Score!

Oh, the only thing I would pass on is the pretzels.  Its two small bites with mustard.  You can get that for $8 cheaper down the street.

My boyfriend and I went here for restaurant week and I was surprised by the location because I never noticed that Supper was across from Wholefoods on South Street.
    Anyways, I digress.
As soon as we were taken upstairs, we were awed by the decor; candles, low lighting, simple furniture. We were instantly charmed. Our waitress was a bit aloof but nevertheless we were excited about our meal. The pretzel and deviled eggs met expectations. The mushroom tart was eh and the sweet potato soup was unique, but I liked it.
    Then, the entrees came.
Maybe this was my fault but I didn't know that my shephards pie was made of beets, and that the chicken was going to be literally two small pieces of chicken you could get from KFC (better flavor of course, but same look). We were just so taken aback by the portions. I'm not saying I want Cheesecake Factory sized plates but c'mon, that is way too damn small. Now I can see why some people on here were so upset by the portion size. I think that ruined it for us because dessert was eh (banana bread and a glorified oreo pie).
I won't say that it was a bad night, but I won't say I'll be going back there. It was nice meeting you Supper, take care.

I found Supper by doing a Google search...sorry, Yelp, but I'm an out-of-towner.  Navigating a list of 4-star restaurants to pick THE 4-star restaurant is complicated.  I went with my boyfriend for his 30th birthday; he's really into farm-to-table food, and I found an article about the relationship between the restaurant and their affiliated farm.  I made the reservation.

It's a quaint place, almost like an elegant farmhouse.  We had drinks; I had some mixed thing in a difficult-to-maneuver martini glass, and he had a bourbon.  The server was very nice in helping us out, coming back multiple times as we worked our way through reading the menu and the wine list.  The server and the host remembered that it was my boyfriend's birthday, and even put a candle in his dessert.

The menu isn't too long, and everything has enough of a quirk to make it interesting.  With the exception of the duck and waffle dish, though, nothing stretches the imagination that much. However, I would highly recommend the deviled eggs for an appetizer.  I did look at Yelp to see the reviews and, despite the fact that I don't usually like deviled eggs, enough people recommended them that I ordered.  They were phenomenal.  Definitely invest in them.

Overall, I liked the place.  A few things nagged at me, though.  The owner was out in the restaurant during service in a t-shirt and shorts.  I paid quite a bit of money there; sure, it's not exactly Alinea, but it's nice enough that his attire needed to stay in the kitchen. (/snob)

Second, and this is probably unfair, it wasn't exactly what I was picturing.  We have a place in Baltimore, Woodberry Kitchen, where the chef sources all of the food locally.  I had a Bloody Mary there once that used organic vodka, where the only thing made without regard to the environment was a beer.  That's my expectation when I go to one of these farm-to-table places; I want an obsessed chef overseeing everything.  It doesn't happen at this place. But, putting those unrealistic expectations aside, it was a great meal, one I would gladly repeat.

I took my parents here, and my chef father said over and over that he would definitely come back. That is a sign of a good place.

I loved my wine, cheese puff appetizer, and pea/onion side. My dad's pork and tamale entree was also a huge hit. Mom's sea bass with saffron dumplings was solid. For my entree, I got the "white pie" which was definitely the weak link. It sounded like a flatbread pizza but turned out to be just a mound of fennel. Not bad (I still ate it) but not as good as the others.

Service was very very good and the ambiance is very nice. But bring a jacket! They keep it cool in there.

Just got back from dinner from Supper and it was a great dinner.  I went for Restaurant week, and I do think this is one of those spots that's probably better on a regular night.

I had the deviled eggs, salad with hush puppies, lamb, and bread pudding.  Everything was good, but nothing was spectacular.  The lamb was a little too rare for my taste, but it had a good flavor, lots of cinnamon.  The bread pudding was really good too.  I would go back, but maybe I would try brunch.

Service was excellent.  The timing between courses was perfect, and our waitress was very attentive without being over-bearing.

I'll join the ranks of yelpers to give Supper a 4 star review!

In addition to what others have said, I'd like to point out that Supper is a great place to go if you are dining with someone who is vegetarian- a three course vegetarian menu is available in addition to the regular offerings. My teenage daughter raved about the vegetarian entree plate!

We also had fun trying the devilled eggs, and since it was my birthday I indulged in one of the pecial cocktails. There is a nice selection of wine by the glass as well.

Entrees were a hit, from the duck/waffles (which I had to try!) to the huge bacon cheeseburger for my meat eating daughter.  Desserts were yummy, we shared the banana bread pudding and chocolate cake. Not a drop remained on the plates!

The only negative I would say about this place is the service is was a little indifferent. This is not the type of place where you are warmly greeted with "hello, my name is XXX, I'll be your server. Is this the first time you are dining with us? Do you have any questions about the menu? etc etc."  The attitude of our server was more like he was doing us a favor by serving us.  Nevertheless, we had a great experience at Supper and would recommend to others.

I went to Supper a couple of months back for brunch.  The first thing I noticed was the décor: It's elegant, clean, and simple both inside and out.  This is not a place to go to brunch looking hungover or as if you've just rolled out of bed.  Not to mention, if you're hungover or still sleepy you won't be able to notice the simple subtleties of the uniquely quirky table adornments that some designer poured hours of work into.   Take a couple of hours to wake up, take a brisk walk or a run, shower and dress nicely.  It will just make more sense this way..

We were asked whether we had a reservation (for brunch?) and when we said no, they stood there looking around for a while and eventually decided that they would seat us at one of the many open tables.  Personally, I don't think that anyone should feel lucky for getting seated in an almost empty restaurant.  The waiter was somewhat friendly, but the entire place had an air of unnecessary exclusivity, particularly for an establishment on South Street.

I understand that the name of the restaurant is not Brunch, and this may be for a good reason.  The frittata that we got to share was runny (or watery?) and I didn't feel well after eating it.   The coffee selection was minimal, and the apple fritter was a tiny fried pastry that was oily and cold.

The red velvet waffles were yummy, and inventive, and for that I give the restaurant some points.  However, I tried to share this discovery with another friend and found that the restaurant didn't even open until 10:30.  What kind of place boasting a breakfast menu doesn't open until 10:30??   Someday, I may try Supper for lunch or its namesake and try to update my review, but so far I'm not won over.
