I love food with flavour and family run places and this 100% on both counts!
Perfectly clean inside and obviously these people spent some serious money building this place out as all the restaurant equipment and coolers and baking equipment would have cost some serious bucks.
The have a big hot steam table with Rices and sides as well as the spinning pile of chicken sharma. Off to the side is a bbq pit where they cook flat skewers of meat over flame as well as veggies.
I ordered a chicken shwarma on a pita and told them to dress it however they liked.
OMG... IT WAS AWESOME...
Flavorful moist meat, pickled something, crunchy bits and a couple hot pepper and sauce.. it was amazing!
I finished with some fresh baklava..which was alos GREAT.
I have to go back ... SOON!!!!!!
(PS - English appears to be a bit of an issue with some of the staff, so please be patient. They were incredibly polite and we got my order figured out eventually.) -

My family & I just had dinner at Super Shiraz and never again. I don't know how people can rave about the food, its nothing but mediocre and a disappointment. We have eaten at many Persian restaurants, this is the first time that I can truly say we wasted our money.
The chicken breast was overcooked and dry.
Both the Dill&Fava rice as well as the plain Basmatti rice were lukewarm in some spots, and cold in others, as well as dry from being left uncovered. All 4 of us left the rice on our plate.
There was no yogurt to go with the meals, that was a first for us, and I made the mistake of putting tahini in place of the yogurt and that just ruined the meal because it was not homemade and tasted awful. There was another family asking for yogurt too, so its obviously something that should be included.
There was no homemade dressing for the salad, it was all bottled.
The chairs are cheap and so uncomfortable. We couldn't wait to leave.
Cyrus Persian Restaurant on Ritson Rd S is still the best persian restaurant in Durham, we have never been disappointed, and its got better seating, and the staff can get your order right the first time. -

I'm just going to second everything the last reviewer said!
Amazing customer service, delicious, flavorful food, clean as a whistle. Really decent prices, too.
We had a cream filled cake instead of baklava, and we all fought over it, it was so delicious.

I'll make it three! Awesome authentic Chicken Shawarma, I'd give it 5 stars but they don't make it with tabouleh. Even without tabuleh it's still easily the best Chicken Shawarma around. Way better than Pita land and you have got tot ry the desserts they are excellent as well. I agree english is sometimes an issue but in my opinion that's a good thing as you know it's authentic.
