I have needed to get my haircut for some time. But, I have been reluctant because a) I didn't want to spend $25 at some frou frou salon, and b) salon stylists don't know squat about cleaning up a man's random hairs (cheeks, sideburns, ears - hey, someone has to do it!). So, I let things slide for a while until I spotted Super Sam on Bank Street. It is right around the corner from my kids' school, so one day, just before I picked up the little ones, I went inside for a haircut. Now, I had a style in mind. But, the barber was able to convince me to go with a style that would end up suiting me better and not making me look like Morrissey on acid. There are two barbers on staff, so you don't have to wait long. And, I noticed the barbers know the clients well, even though this location has only been around for six months. The downside - no debit cards accepted. Cash only. So, paying was a bit of a hassle. Who carries cash any more? But, I did receive a Second Cup two-for-one card on my way out the door. Bottom line - Sam is indeed Super!
