First of all, I cannot believe how low the ratings are for this place. Maybe my experience was out of the ordinary. I am almost in shock. But I went here with my girl friends and we loved it.

The service was good, we were seated after grabbing drinks at the bar. The guests at our table before hand took longer than expected. We ordered a few appetizers and just had tasting plates. The tuna, scallop and croquettes were all amazing. We loved it all. We also ordered a Chicken Milanese which was so large we had to take it to go. It was as if it was meant for 3 people. The food was great, the flavors were great.

The decor of the place is awesome. Vintage, intimate, with a latin twist. The vibe throughout the place was lively.

Also shocked by the subpar reviews of Super Linda and was pleasantly surprised by my meal here yesterday evening.

The scene/decor is 4+ stars and will not disappoint. Very cool vibe (certainly loud) by the all-star team behind former hotspots La Esquina, Beatrice etc. Also spotted Lake Bell at the bar with a crew of hipsters. Brownie points awarded.

The food is good. Not change your life good, but pretty solid. The ceviche is excellent as is the flank steak entree. Didn't love the snapper (really spicy). Other apps/salads were good, but not particularly memorable.

Service is pretty awful, which isn't shocking given that they are likely working out their kinks. Our waitress was nice but looked pretty clueless and was trailed by an even more clueless trainee. Awkward.

We checked out the bar downstairs after dinner, which was pretty full despite the slightly early hour for a Friday (10:00pm). Drinks were good (great margaritas) and the crowd was cool. Romantic and hip setting. Try to grab a table as the standing area is awkward.

The space reminded me of a diner, albeit a high end one. Though all of the tables on the main floor were empty, the hostess had to check a few times before she determined it was ok to seat me and my friend. She was sweet so it wasn't a huge deal - we chalked it up to the attitude that many restaurants in Tribeca think must be part of their schtick.

Moving on to the food, it made up for the slight seating delay, but I wasn't wowed by any of the dishes except maybe the ceviche and grilled toast. Here are the small plates we ordered to share:

Ceviche Verde (local fluke, tomatillo, cilantro) - HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Croquetas (smoked chicken, truffle) - RECOMMEND

Shrimp Balls (chile de arbol, cilantro, grilled toast) - OK

Hearts of Palm Salad (frisée, avacado, hazelnuts, grapefruit and tangerine pieces) - RECOMMEND

Goat Milk Cheese Cake with Mango Sorbet - HIGHLY RECOMMEND

well, I ALWAYS read the reviews before trying new places. And this one wasn't the exception. But even after reading mostly low rates, I decided to give this place a try.
    I better didn't!

-when we just walked in they couldn't manage the table for us, even if 85% of the tables were empty (for another 40 minutes btw). Their excuses were silly and unprofessional.

-someone told they have good drinks....I gave a shot to 2 of the different ones. Terrible. I literally couldn't drink it.

-food was below average+ size portions were small (Ravioli entry was really tiny, so if you are going to feed your Man-forbid this place or at least  this dish there).

The one nice thing was the waiter. He was really nice, and our glasses with water were refilled all the time.
Cant say the same about the girls who work there. They got a little bit of "attitude" with no reason..

I came thinking I will have a 4 star experience.  A confused hostess started my night off.  Don't use open table to book, just call directly.  I think they also purposely push you back 30 minutes from your requested reservation to make it more fashionable (speaking of which, we sat next to John Varvatos).

Limited menu with some decent ideas for food.  The fluke ceviche wasn't bad, but not great.  They needed some more stuff mixed in besides some fluke and tomatillos.  Good sauce.

The red and green snapper was huge.  A large amount of cabbage.  Raw cabbage, not a slaw.  The fries that came with it were decent.  They were good dipped in the sauces.  You can make tacos!  They surprised us with mini tortillas.

The Brussels prouts were pretty average with some other stuff floating around in them.

I left full thankfully. Our waiter was very polite.  They seemed to be in a rush.  The damn bus boy kept on taking our drinks before they were done.

Trendy place with blaa bar. Looks like someone took an old Chinese place and tried to make it into a southamerican restaurant...wait, I think there used to be a Chinese restaurant here before!

Super Linda is the new La Esquina -- the downstairs bar, the small plates, the unassuming exterior.

Although this isn't my favorite place in the neighborhood, it is a great spot to be able to get a table with friends in an alcove and get a few eats. The drink menu is still lacking and the eats aren't amazing, but the ambiance of the place will definitely bring me back..

ughh. Was super excited about super linda coming to the hood. I went on a Friday at 6:00 and asked for a table for 3 and was told that they are fully booked. Huh? Not a sole was sitting in a table. Not one. When I questioned the hostess she said "don't worry they are coming!! What everyones reservations are at 6:15 on a Friday night! Yea right. I decided to bag it and not give it a try. New York is too big and there are too many good choices.
Sure enough a friend had a birthday party there this weekend, so I was forced to return. I decided to go with an open mind and give it a chance.

The crowd felt a little Jersey.. Kardashian wanna be's. Kinda lame. Posers
The drinks were teeny tiny and packed with ice. One sip and it was gone.
The hostess stand is run by a bunch of airheads that take direction but cant think for themselves. If they are not programmed with the answer they can not respond.

i would say that the food is good and not incredible.
Our waitress was actually very good but we were a table of 12 with a built in tip.

So, my verdict is I tried it twice and will not likely give it a third try unless they get their act together.
    Love Tiny's

I can't believe how bad the overall rate is so far. Maybe my experience last night was an anomaly? Although it was a company dinner and might've been given more attention, the food and service were both excellent. My glass was constantly being refilled for both water and margarita. We had a variety of dishes but my favorites were brussels sprouts, chicken, and kale. The chicken was super tender and cooked just right. Definitely try the churros for dessert - it's hot and fresh with dark hot chocolate to dip in on the side.

I would love to go here again and would hope the food will be nothing less than amazing again!

A lot of people were excited about this place based on that it's Matt from the Beatrice and Serge Becker running it. Decor seems to be inspired by diner kitsch; 70s vibe with a splash of communism. They did a nice job with the lighting- not too bright as some of the recent gastro-pubs. The food is supposedly dishes from Uruguay and Argentina although most of the menu seemed to be from completely different spots such as ceviche (Peruvian) and pastrami tacos (Narnia?).  In terms of  the touted "Latin BBQ" all I saw was a rib eye steak and a pork dish with brussel sprouts.

The margaritas on the cocktail menu had fun flavors such as Pineapple Rose. I opted for the Topanga cocktail which sounded delicious with hibiscus- unfortunately it tasted exactly like diet Kool-Aid.  Chicken croquetas would be good as an after party dish at 4am- nothing to write home about. The ceviche was fresh and the scallops had great texture although the mushrooms it came with were rather cold and under-cooked. The prawns themselves were appetizing and perfectly cooked although the accoutrements left much to be desired. Churros were plain served with a chocolate sauce. Tastes like plain fried dough; then again I've never had any churros to rave about. Entrees are around $28 so not sure why they are branding themselves as a casual alternative to the more upscale restaurants in the area.

Service was extremely slow; the whole thing took 3 hours. Drink orders weren't put in. had to ask several times to order, then received wrong dishes, waited another half hour... they did comp a dessert but everything was super slow so not really worth it.  I didn't like the food that much but live in the area and it's cute so will probably wind up here again.

There is a lounge downstairs which is a fun place for late night drinks; a small bar with a separate room behind it. The quality of people was a notch above the upstairs; probably because they've had a security person guard the lounge area.

All i can say is eh!  I was expecting a much different experience. The atmosphere in the main dining room is not that great. Very cramped and people that weren't dining actually hover over you as you dine. Very annoying. Our waiter was great and the food was really good. We sat in front of restaurant and froze much of the time. People would come in and the door would stay open cause there wasn't enough waiting space. Finally soneone used their noggin and closed the velvet curtain so we could eat without our teeth chattering. My friend used the restroom and the make host decided to use her chair as a step stool to fix something. Didnt even use a towel to stand on and returned the chair to the table for her to sit on after his dirty shoes were on it. Obviously i am not in a hurry to return.

I live nearby in Tribeca, yet don't understand what Super Linda is going for, but here are my thoughts from a recent Sat. night dinner experience there. Seems to me, the restaurant is better suited for the meatpacking district or maybe Soho. Loud tunes, 6'2" model hostess, downstairs lounge, limited menu with average food / less than stellar service, several tables of young women looking to get their 'Sat night swing on', etc.

Is that what tends to succeed in Tribeca? Nope.

They should have called this place Super RUDE.  Doorman needs to get fired and from what I read sounds like this place is trying to be super exclusive.  My suggestion:  get out of the neighborhood b/c that kind of attitude ruins the vibe that this community has  come to love about Tribeca, put a red velvet rope around the entrance so people know what kind of attitude they are dealing with, and get some people at the door that can really represent your brand-- not super ugly jerks!

Cool spot, so-so food. Crowd is a bit weird -- less hip than they try to make themselves out to be.

Love the horse murals downstairs, though.

And the corn tacos are good.

Cocktails are overpriced for what you get. Though the "Detective" Mezcal drink is really good -- but comes at a $15 price for what feels like three sips and all ice cubes.

Wow.  This place was all sorts of terrible.  Let me list the ways:

    1.  The coat hooks on the wall are decorative (really).  Please don't hang your coats on them.  Feel free to check your coats at the unattended coat check.

    2.  The coat check (because you can't use the coat hooks), when attended, will happily pile all the bags into an indiscriminate pile on the floor.

    3.  The servers have no idea what alcohol they have behind the bar, but they can check and let you know if 40 minutes.

    4.  In the meantime, feel free to make "choice" of one of the five bar menu "options" of (1) raw fish, (2) ceviche, (3) more raw fish, (4) more ceviche, or (5) oysters.

    5.  Unfortunately, the servers cannot sell you chips and salsa separate from the raw fish options, even if you are in a group of ten people ordering lots of alcohol who aren't necessarily looking to romantically share some ceviche.

    6.  Luckily, while you lament on your bar choice, you can be comfortably seated on a two foot high wobbly stool and continuously hit your shins on mirrored tables of equal height

    7.  Also, when you are at your lowest point, you can look into the eyes of one of the many many children running around the place (Super Daycare!) and be happy to know that if we progress as a people, these children may open more inspired locations.

Was out last night with a friend and we decided last minute to see if we get a table at Super Linda. I couldn't believe the condescending attitude of the so-called "doorman" and if you didn't have a reservation you couldn't go inside. That was their one shot at my business. By reading the rest of these reviews for Super Linda, I'll wait for the next restaurant that moves into that location.

Super Linda is just a few blocks away from our apartment and we have been looking forward to trying the place out since it was under construction.  We were surprised that it was already full only 2 weeks after opening, but after seeing the inside, its no wonder!  The place is much cooler and more hip and has attractive spaces inside for eating, drinking and lounging - much more chic than the name or the branding of "Super Linda" implies.

Food definitely impressed us.  Best small plate by far was the Shrimp Balls which had a great salsa spice with kick to it that you dip them in. We shared black beans and the snapper main dish and the fish was a-m-a-z-i-n-g tender and just the right amount of flavoring. Definitely will come back next weekend, but will get a reservation this time!!

Super Linda is my new La Esquina.  Except it's only one block away from my apartment (hooray!).
My boyfriend and I went on a Sunday at around 7 pm and were informed that there was only room at the bar.  The whole place was empty... but all was forgiven because the bartender was amazing.  He gave us great recommendations (and his mustache/accent perfectly complimented the 70's latin vibe).   Both drinks we had were delicious---but the must try is the Javier (which I couldn't find on the menu).
For appetizers we had the Tostada with corn (which was so delicious and flavorful) and the croquettes, which were just okay.  They must have been reading my mind because they brought out a complimentary beet salad that we had been debating on ordering and it was fantastic.
The standout entree was the chicken dish--flavored with cilantro and lime and served with peppers and string beans.  Delicious! (and far better than the hangar steak).
Dessert was so-so...we tried the churros but next time we'll go for tres leches or a liquid dessert off the bar menu. :)
Overall great experience and highly recommended.  Future hot spot, so definitely go while you can get in!

Was very excited to visit this place with my friends on a weekday after work; instead, we were DENIED at the door on a TUESDAY NIGHT! The place was empty inside, save three or four couples, and the hostess had the audacity to tell us that they were completely booked...at 7pm! There was nobody waiting or arriving and when my friend asked  the hostess if she was sure they'd fill up, she rudely replied, "Yes. I'm sure. Trust me, I know what I'm doing." For a place that just opened, you'd think they would be a bit more welcoming. They made no effort to accomodate us and that's a shame because we all work in the area and this could have become one of our go-to spots. Oh well!

I agree with most of the other yelp reviewers, this could have been on of the worst dining experiences of my life.  Ang L., I think last night was an anomaly.  I went there today and it was a total disappointment.  Okay, to start, you enter oddly from a side entrance and through a set of curtains.  The hostess was not friendly at all and although there were plenty of available booths, she sat us at a tiny table for two.  Now, who DID she sit in a booth?  A party of SIX!  Literally, they couldn't move their arms and were laughing at the ridiculousness.  They asked to move, of course.  Then, no one ever came to take our order.  I had to ask the water guy to go find our waitress.  When our waitress came over, she was rude and appeared high.  She did not greet us at all.  At some point, I caught her blankly staring into space.  She could have been the worst waitress in the history of waitressing.  Oddly, the menu is extremely limited, and kinda pricey.  I was expecting some chips while I wait, maybe cool burritos, maybe some enchiladas, on the menu.  No, they have sandwiches.  I ordered the Chiopan, which is chorizo with peppers and onions.  My friend was like, "that's a bread sandwich!"  Literally, there were two small pieces of chorizo on the bread and a few peppers and onions.  That was $10!  I could go down the street and get an amazing sausage, peppers, and onion sandwich for $6!  Luckily, the bread was tasty, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside.  It did come with some boring, healthy slaw on the side.  I would suggest some black beans or something.  I ordered a diet coke.  Of course, the waitress forgot about it and I had to tell the water guy to get it, and he did.  I really hope this waitress splits the tip evenly with the water guy; he did a lot more work that she did.  Anyway, when the diet coke arrived, it appeared to be in a child's glass...and that was $3!  My friend ordered some fish tacos.  She said they were super bland.  I go to lunch with her pretty much every day and I've never, ever, seen her add salt to her meal...but she did at Super Linda.  I can't see HOW this restaurant could stay in business beyond a month unless they totally revamp Super Linda, from staff to the menu, and maybe even the decor.  Please do NOT go there.  You will be disappointed. They get one star for a cute name, some decent bread, and getting the check out on time.  I think toward the end, they could tell we weren't happy and wanted us out.  Either that, or the shift was changing or something.  There are so many better restaurants in the area.  Do not waster your time.
