The Sun Beach Motel had a vacancy one Monday evening after August Long, and four fairly cheap Vancouver hipsters happened to be passing through. For $120, we got a room with a queen bed and the creakiest, most uncomfortable couch foldout imaginable. But the upside - it was right on the lake. It also had a mini-fridge, which gave our poor cooler a break for the night.
I would actually probably go back here. It was full of families, which was pretty weird - nobody like us at all, and they seemed to resent our presence - but there are kitchenettes (mini-fridge and microwave in-room, barbecues on the patio), lake access, and the place is super close to "town".
Still, holy crap was that foldout uncomfortable.
