We ate there this week.  Great food and clean setting.  My husband had the Ados Polo  and I had the gyros sandwich with fries. With beverages our bill was less than $20.  All I can say is that we'll be back!  We just might take a bottle of wine with us next time. They have a website, so check out http://www.sultanmedit...  Just be aware that they are closed for a family vacation May 12-20.

It's like a classy Dr. Gyros with a larger menu that is more focused on real Mediterranean food and less on a Chicago street vendor.  (don't get me wrong, I love Dr. Gyros)

Make sure you get the hummus!

The only thing is that you have to order before you sit down.

It's been a while since the Quad Cities had a good Mediterranean restaurant.  Thankfully, my wife and I tried Sultan this evening.  We are very glad we did.

The humus and baba-ganoush were very good, but order an extra pita with it.

I had the chicken shish-ka-bob.  The chicken was very well seasoned.  The rice was surprisingly good as well.  Most restaurants don't put much thought to simple rice.

My wife had the chicken gyro salad.  Ask for a box, it was huge.  And she made sure she was going to bring it home to finish it.

The restaurant is very clean as well.  I hope they open one on the Iowa side of the river.

Really good middle eastern food. Gyro pizza with Alfredo sauce is good as are the daily specials. The Persian stew is great as are the kabobs, both with meat or vegetarian.

Went back to Sultan for lunch this week and am happy to update my review.  One of my complaints from my last visit, lack of knowledge of counter staff and the resulting inability to answer questions about the menu, was resolved.  The staff this time around was helpful and friendly, and had obviously eaten the food there, which is a plus.  The place is still brand new clean, and we had very quick service.  The fries are great, homemade, thin cut, skin on, and crispy.  I tried the chicken kabob sandwich, added hummus (choice of garlic or red pepper).  It was really nice with soft pita and tender, moist chicken.  Will definitely be back to try some of the other menu items, the Persian stew and some rice dishes sound wonderful.

I ate dinner here last night.  I was happy to see a mediterranean restaurant open in the Quad Cities.  Overall, it was pretty good.  I had the Shevid Baghali Polo (Dill Rice), an order of garlic hummus and pita bread, and baklava for dessert.  The food was very flavorful, and this was probably some of the best hummus I've ever had.  My only complaint was that my chicken kabob was cold when I got it.  I think that I would have been able to taste the flavors more if it was warm.  The lady at the front counter was very knowledgable about the menu, and the place had a great atmosphere.  I think this place would be great for lunch because of their many sandwich options.  I definitely plan on coming back here.
