Review from Rica Z.
Richmond, BC
I easily get bored with my haircut so Luisa, my stylist, always does something different with it every appointment and it looks great every time! They take into consideration the texture of your hair so you end up with a haircut that's looking good and easy to maintain.
Service price starts at $50 but they have promotions from time to time. I usually pay $60, but last year I remember getting multiple discounts on haircut and colour (separate appointment). Just today, I only paid $35 for my cut since I pre-booked a few months ago. I would highly recommend Suki's in Richmond, I've been going here for almost 2 years now. -

Snotty staff, disorganized reception desk, and very overpriced for what you get.

3.5 stars for me.
There are some things you generally can't get done in Richmond, and one of these things includes having a good hair.
Suki's is one of the few hair places in Richmond that I'll let touch my hair and I've come here a few times when I'm too lazy to see my stylist in Vancouver and/or I'm feeling a bit broke since the prices are a bit more affordable (cuts start at $50 here).
Nice layout, convenient parking (free at the back) and good quality brands. Their product line focuses on Kerastase, with a recent addition of Shu Uemura, which I'm booked to try out at my next visit.
I've used a couple of stylists here and they've both been decent but not super chatty. Prices are reasonable here and you'll come out with an OK cut after an hour - my bob edges aren't as clean as I'd like them to be, so maybe that's where my extra $22 goes at the Rain salon :)
They're not pushy on the product sales here. I'm used to the Bumble and Bumble style salons where they give you a list and go through the products they've used with you. They don't do that with their lines, so it can be a plus or minus depending on what you like.

History
Established in 2004
In 1972 Suki moved to Vancouver, bought a small salon at the site of our current South Granville location. Starting with no clients but a clear vision of what hairdressing could be, the company was built one client at a time, primarily through word of mouth.
From the beginning the focus was strong technical cutting and great colour work. In 1978 the Suki's Academy was founded, primarily to train our own staff. Today the Suki's Academy attracts North American and international students and is considered one of the finest training facilities in the world. Suki's was the first salon in Canada to utilize Technicians, who specialize in colour.
The company remains committed to quality and innovation. The vast majority of all Suki's Stylists and Technicians started with the company as Apprentices, completed the Suki's Academy and passed a demanding final exam before being allowed to work in the salons. Simply put, our Stylists and Technicians are better because they are better trained.
Meet the Manager: James V.
James joined Suki's with a background as a professional dancer but found his true passion with hair. His strong sense of style, and his gifted hands have quickly propelled James to the highest levels of the hair industry. He appears several times a year on the Toronto-based TV show CityLine on CityTV, where he performs live makeovers. James also shares his time at Suki's by teaching styling and updos to our students, and regularly competes doing the hair for photoshoots, fashion shows and beauty pageants. He also devotes his time travelling as one of L'Oreal Professional's Platform Artists.
We highly recommend James to our guests who want a change for the better, and those who are seeking beautiful, bombshell hair.
