Review from Dee B.
I had my colour done by Jessica. High fives all around: Jessica was very attentive and listened to my current colour likes and dislikes. We had a great consultation and she took the time to walk me through exactly what she was going to do. My colour turned out absolutely beautifully and wasn't even all that expensive. Base colour + highlights for $130.
If you like scalp massages, go to this location and request that Stevie wash your hair. I personally don't really like any aspect of getting my hair done, but the quality of this scalp massage and shampoo was UH-MAY-ZING and it went on for a solid 15-20 minutes. Quality.
I dock 1 star for the following:
- My hairline is REALLY stained. I looked like Dracula. Attention Colourists: the forehead does not need colour.
- When I was paying the receptionist informed me that they prefer cash tips and next time I come in to make sure I bring cash. Lady, this is the electronic age. I am not making a special trip to an ATM when I have perfectly functioning debit and VISA cards. -

Mai (too bad she's leaving for Australia) and Candace are the best. All of the colourists are pretty good, too.
Be careful if you get an apprentice to style your hair, though. They take forever and don't always know what they are doing. Still, at $25 with tip it's less than the $50 for a stylist (without a cut!)
They are a spendy place, and not very trendy, but they do an amazing job, which is why I have been going here on and off since 1990, when I met Suki herself (who incidentally, has since moved to LA).Listed in: Holy Hotness All Year Round

Oh, Suki's. Long ago, when I was still in high school, they were responsible for chopping off my long not-so-beautiful locks. My mom got tired of looking at a banshee and decided that it was time for a bob. I resisted as much as I could but it became apparent that it was futile. The result wasn't as bad as I had anticipated but I was still unhappy at the idea of not being able to hide behind my hair.
I re-visited the place a bit more recently and had a much more positive experience. They listened closely to what I wanted and didn't pressure me into buying their products. -

Learning to style my new DO' has been tricky especially with a baby! Went into Sukis today and got some tips/consultation for free:) As they remind me: a new haircut is like a new best friend! You gotta get to know them very well. Soon you will be styling your new hair in under 5mins LOL!

Review from Anita T.

When I graduated from getting my hair cut at "Great Clips"-type places in high school, I choose to come to Suki's. It was located in a coveted area of Vancouver, it looked super high fashion, and I was young....
Not to say I didn't like Suki's. It was great while my relationship lasted with the place, but I moved on. I didn't like the lack of listening on the part of the stylist. When I said I wanted a trim, that DIDN'T mean 4 inches and super layers!!! Of course, it's not that I didn't like what I looked like everytime I left the salon - but then again, EVERYONE looks good the day they get their hair done... Stylists need to learn that their customers ARE NOT stylists, and do not have an hour in the morning to play with their hair. In my opinion, hair should be easy to maintain and control - and Suki's didn't give me this luxury. -

I went to Suki's today and got an amazing hair cut from Mai who is one of their stylists. She listened to what I wanted and added some great input. She even took the time to show me how I can blowdry my hair to add volume.
I'm glad I went to try this salon out. -
