I really enjoy this restaurant for the food and the atmosphere. It's got an eastern feel to it, from the dark wood counter top at the front, the wall accents and earthy stone floor to the circle fire pit in the middle of the restaurant. There's an intimate, Zen feel to the place. The menu is full of delicious red and green curries, and it's clearly marked how hot they are. The sauces are complex and flavourful. I suggest getting something with coconut curry because it's amazing here. I've also tried a side dish with peaches and shrimp that tasted like I'd died and gone to heaven. The only thing I recall which was a bit off about this place was the music. On one given night they were playing The Bear radio station! I would have expected some soft, exotic-sounding music to really set the mood. Maybe it was just a fluke on the night we came. I don't recall it the first time I was here, but someone should tell them it undoes all of their hard work to give people an authentic Thai experience. The wine selection is nice and the meal was moderately priced.

Sukhothai (which I pronounce "Suck-o Thai") is overpriced, mediocre food (on the greasy side with little flavour). Besides, it's not particularly friendly to vegetarians, which is strange for a Thai restaurant. I refuse to go back, not when there is good Thai to be had (for a lower price) at several other restaurants in town.

The food at Sukhothai tasted OK but it was nothing special. I feel I always complain about this but yet again the price is high for the quality of food. So disappointing. If you go here for dinner you will be looking at about $100 for 2 people and it's definitely not worth it.
The service was decent but again, nothing special. Restaurants like this one need to understand that if they have GOOD food and something different about them then people won't care about the prices. Honestly, would you pay 20 bucks for one meal at mcdonalds? If your food is low quality charge low quality prices.
