Yowza. Waxing is never a fun experience...and the idea of writing a review is a bit daunting to me so instead I'm going to leave it all pretty simple.
Waxing hurts. It's hot wax. On skin. And you're having hair torn out. Sometimes off your lady bits. With that said, there are ways to make it more tolerable and not every wax place is very good at that. Don't ask me why I know that.
Sugar Sugar is not even in this realm. Sugaring itself is different. It's a lot less painful and lasts longer. And Sugar Sugar - well, the place is awesome.
They make an uncomfortable situation that you're shelling out quite a few dollars for worth the money. This place is clean. The people are friendly and personal and make you feel at ease. Sugaring is way less mean to your skin than waxing. They're consistent, their place smells good, it's awesome.
Take my word for it.
I'm never going anywhere else. -

Came to Sugar Sugar upon a recommendation of a friend. I've never waxed anything before (except my eyebrows), let alone sugared anything, so I was intrigued. I had heard a lot of good things about sugaring.. especially about how it's it's much less painful than waxing. I had an upcoming trip to Vegas, so I couldn't let myself go without getting pretty.
Since I was a noob, I decided to start off with a basic bikini ($25). I scheduled an appointment after work with Marie H. She was really nice and made me feel comfortable by keeping me in conversation while she was working. I didn't get to see exactly what she was doing, but it wasn't painful at all (mind you, I have a pretty high tolerance for pain). The room, the lobby, and restroom were all very clean. I will say, though, that their services are a little pricey, but I'm kinda cheap, so in reality, it's comparable to what everyone else charges.
The salon was easy to locate, a couple blocks from the freeway exit. Parking was even easier.. there was 2-hour max street parking right in front of the salon (I checked like 3 times to make sure it was legit). There would've been more spots along Ravenna, but they're currently doing some construction in that area.
One star deduction becaaaause.. they never answer they're freakin' phone! I tried so many times prior to my appointment to try and cancel other ones that I had made in mistake online, but somehow, I never got anyone to pick up. Wtf is that? Not too sure what the receptionist could have been doing all of those times. But other than that, my overall experience at Sugar Sugar was quite pleasant. Looking forward to my next service scheduled for the beginning of next month! -

I'm converted. No more waxing for this girl. Sugaring is the way to go and I wouldn't go anywhere other that Sugar Sugar.
I made an appointment online with Alyssa per other yelp reviews for brow shaping. I really liked using their online system, because i got both an appointment confirmation and reminder.
The staff was really professional and the salon was clean and bright. It's a great, convenient location.
The service itself was fairly painless and very quick. Alyssa explained to me what the product was and how she was going to use it. Before she even started she made sure to understand what I was wanting from our session. I really appreciated that. She made me feel very comfortable in voicing my opinion, concerns, and feedback throughout the whole process. Believe it or not, not all personal services are like that.
Thanks for such a great waxing experience. My brows and I thank you.I will definitely be back. -

Goodbye Wax! Hello Sugaring!
I have been a long time waxer and I was skeptical to jump on the sugaring train but am really glad I have! I love the location and can always find street parking easily. Additionally, the place really has a "spa" feel so it's not like going to a dirty nail salon and plooping your goods on a dirty piece of wax paper. You can tell that hygiene is important here.
I have only used Jillian and she is great. Super cute and friendly and makes the awkwardness of having your lady business waxed more pleasurable (if that's possible). She is very meticulous and gets every hair, plucking the stray ones at the end.
For first time sugar-ers, they use a ball of sugar that over and over as opposed to dipping as they do with waxing. Also, know that while I don't think waxing hurts that much, sugaring feels like nothing. It's pretty amazing. There is also so much less irritation after and I've found that ingrowns are less common.
Definitely try sugar sugar! The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars was because it can be a little pricey. That being said, I got a pack and saved a few bucks by pre-paying. -

I used to be an avid InSpa goer, but after reading these reviews and hearing positive things about the overall sugaring experience, I decide to give Sugar Sugar a try. Needless to say, it was a much more positive experience than traditional waxing. The space at Sugar Sugar is clean, chic, and soothing. Tiffany was my gal and she did a lovely job - I'm definitely going back.

Review from Evelyn F.
About to embark on a tropical vacation, I needed some hair removal done. This was my second sugaring ever. Crystal did a great job, and made me feel totally comfortable throughout the process. The eyebrows were painless, while "down there" was a bit more ouchie, but she kept chatting with me, and the distraction was helpful. They sold me an exfoliator after the appointment, so the total without tip came to $67. A little on the pricey side, but it's one of those things that certainly feel worth it.

I'm kind of bummed that places like this get such good ratings and then they wind up being scheduled weeks out.
They are great, I've had services done there several times and extremely few ingrown hairs. I just wish that they weren't so dang booked. -

Wow, glad I tried this place out. Sugaring is awesome. If you still wax, rethink it. Sugaring is less painful and I didn't have any notable redness after my appt. The staff was really helpful and friendly. The girl who sugared my eyebrows, I believe her name was Alyssa, was awesome. She listened to what I wanted and shaped my brows just right. I will definitely be going here again!

Hello heaven. Welcome to the large reception room filled with light and lots of samples from high-end organic beauty products you've probably never heard of. They also sell a product that will grow you long lush lashes. Soo cool! And a little scary.
Enter your private room, lay down on your heated bed and relax to the pulsing beats as the sugar angels do their thing- wait a sec- these girls are way too down to earth for that. Entertaining and at times hilarious, these girls know how to keep your mind off the pain. And in the end, you will feel lighter and powdery soft for weeks. Thank heavens!Listed in: Lights! Glamour! Fashion!

Great location, great service, great products! Tiffany S. was super friendly, made lots of small talk to distract you, and before I knew it, the whole thing was relatively painless and done!
Minus one star for not being as budget-friendly as Kandice Kelly. $75 for a braz! -

This place is great. They are always flexible with rescheduling and cancelling, get you in and out as fast as possible, and are friendly and pleasant. Jillian is great, very meticulous and makes things not awkward. My only complaint is the price of sugaring, although Sugar Sugar seems to have very competitive pricing with the other sugaring places I've seen in Seattle.

Review from Angie K.
Updating from four to five stars because of an experience I had last weekend. I came in for my appointment right at opening time and it turned out the sugarist I had reserved with (who I've never met - just reserved with because of my schedule) was out due to an injury.
The receptionist smoothly brought it up to another woman and she calmly offered to take me. Apologized because she needed a minute to set up the room (which she shouldn't have - I was early!) and she took me on, did a great job and I was even done early. It's been four days and everything is still smooth, which means she did a very thorough job.
Turns out this wonderful calm woman (who didn't freak out when finding out she had an unexpected client at 10 AM on a Sunday) was the owner! I was happy she took me on and even more impressed with her equanimity - if she was suppressing any kind of irritation or surprise about having to take me on, you couldn't tell.
I mean, yeah, it was their business issue, not my fault, but some businesses don't handle things so well, so I really appreciate her taking me on!
I've been looking for a new sugaring spa for a while and if I wasn't convinced before, I am now.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I hate to write a one star review but yeesh. I'm guessing from all the amazing reviews, that my bad experience was a fluke, but it was not a good one.
I bought a coupon for sugaring services for Sugar Sugar from Living Social a few months ago. Before I bought it, I had read the reviews on Yelp so I thought it would be great to try. I set the appointment for lower legs (to use my discounted coupon with) and added my brows as an extra undiscounted service.
The Sugaring itself: OW!!! So ok, waxing isn't exactly super fun, but the only painful part to me is when they tear the wax off. Not so for sugaring. Because the sugar was applied against the direction of the hair growth, it hurt almost worse during the application (mostly because it was a slow pull on all the hairs in the "wrong" direction), and then also of course, there's the requisite pain with the removal.
The sugar was super sticky, but apparently not in a good way, because it kept getting stuck to my skin and she had a hard time getting it off my skin (mostly on the legs is where I noticed this, but I also had my eyes closed for most of the brow work).
Brows: I had been doing my brows myself for a while but had decided I wanted to start getting them professionally done and have them thicker (I've never worn them thin, but wanted them really thick). So for two months I grew them out. And i mean really grew them out. It was scary looking, but I figured it was worth it to end up with beautifully shaped thick brows. I don't know if the gal I got (don't recall her name) was just very new or what, but I walked out of there with one eyebrow at the perfect thickness (if you didn't count the gaping hole in the bottom of the hair line), and the other brow was super thin and not even well shaped.
There was no mirror in the room and she did not offer me one afterwards, just said a few words in closing and left the room. I had to go to the front desk and ask where the bathroom was so I could see what I looked like before I walked out the door. It was awful. Really and actually awful. I went home and immediately into the bathroom to try and even them out. (They were so bad that when I got home even my husband asked me what I'd done - so you know they were something if he noticed!) So after taking the thick one down to match the thin one, and doing my best to reshape the thin one so it wasn't so bleh, I ended up with two thin brows. The worst part was that I had (foolishly) saved this up to do right before I left town to go to a wedding.
Lower Legs: They were ok, except that again it was painful with both the application of the sugar and the removal of the hair (instead of just the removal), and also a strip about 1" wide by 5" long on the front side of my leg, was totally missed. Granted the hair on my legs is super fine, so I can definitely understand how it would have been easy to miss.
The service in general: The front desk gal was definitely friendly, but ignored quite a few incoming calls, to chat with me while I was waiting for my appointment. While I appreciate the friendliness, it didn't seem fair to the folks who were calling for appointments. The gal who did the sugaring itself was very sweet and I enjoyed talking with her while I was having it done.
So my experience was very friendly service and terrible, terrible sugaring. -

I've been there twice and am a convert to sugaring at Sugar Sugar. It's a great space and location. I just wish there was more parking.
To me sugaring is less painful than waxing.
Keeping this short cause I agree with all the positive feedback other customers are saying.
If I had to think of something negative it would be price. But for the level of service and lasting effects it's well worth it. -

This was my first experience with sugaring at Sugar Sugar( or anywhere) and it was great. I went into the whole thing thinking it would be crazy and akward but Alyssa made the whole experience mostly painless and comfortable. She explained everything she was going to do before she did it and chatted me up to distract me. She also was very generous with her knowledge and made sure I understood exactly what I needed to do for aftercare. I will absolutely go back

I just wanted to update my review because Sugar Sugar has added some fancy features to their computer system. On top of the very convenient online scheduling, when you pay, you also get a list of your upcoming appointments and how many sessions remain in you series (if you pre-purchased one - a great deal if you go regularly!). I go out of my way to come to this studio!
Also, I've seen a few other sugarists there besides Kim. Honestly, not all of them have been great, but I want to put a good word in for Alyssa! It was a totally painless experience for a Brazilian. She was very informative and fast, as well as a fun and chipper person to talk to.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Ok, I have to write an update and give Sugar Sugar another star.
I stopped going for Brazilians while I was pregnant (they moved to their new location in Greenlake in the meanwhile) and when I was ready again I started going to two different sugaring salons in Magnolia because I lived there and they were convenient. Convenient but terrible.
I didn't realize how bad they really were until I went back to Sugar Sugar tonight. Night and day difference. Michelle is amazing and it truly hurt MUCH less with her technique than either shop in Magnolia. She was my sugarist back during Sugar Sugar's Ballard days, so I had a direct comparison. I thought I was just more sensitive after pregnancy, but it turns out I was going to sub-par shops.
Learn from my mistake and save your vagina the unnecessary pain! Don't try other places, just go to Sugar Sugar and see how awesome they are! They are MILES better for a similar price.1 Previous Review: Show all »

A month or so ago I was beating myself up a little because I'd bought this $50, 5 product sample kit here. How good can face lotion/masque/cleansers be? Not $50-for-miniature-trial-sizes good. All that hair pulling, Tylenol, and those enkephalins had clearly gotten to my head - wtf did I think I was doing?
With a heavy mental sigh and a little shame - may as well get the disappointment over with and out of my bathroom - I opened the charismatic little wooden box holding them and tried these products out.
OMFG
I LOVE Eminence products. Lotion for day, lotion for night, a couple of great masques, a cleanser (the only one I don't like), that shit's amazing. Less red (less red? I didn't even know that was possible), less puffy, more even complexion, smaller pores, not dry, not oily - everything is amazing - after not very long of using these things. How great will my skin be after 6 mo. and the addition of a serum and whatever else I decide I like? AMAZING. That's how.
And why is this? Let me tell you. It's because they are not made of chemicals - chemicals totally being the easy way out . Products that are purely mixes of synthetics don't take skill, experience, etc. to produce, so lots of people/organizations do it even though it yields an inferior product - it's cheap and easy. It's like mixing paint, where 3 parts red, 2 parts blue, 1 part black will always yield the same purply color. Any idiot can do it and any idiot does. Then sells it in the grocery store.
Eminence's province, in contrast, is herbal extracts. These take some know how and involved human attention to multiple factors in order to maintain quality and consistency in the final product.
Example given (this shit gets its own paragraph - that's how involved it is): the quality of the stock herbs (how many active constituents per gram, etc.) is dependent on time of year, day, what part of the plant, and period of growth that it's harvested. Also on how much water, light, and nutrients the plants received when alive. Were there a lot of bugs that caused the plant to produce more chemicals in defense? Was it particularly cold outside, how much light did it get?, etc. All these things play a part and have to be monitored or understood so that the recipes can be adjusted with every batch to make sure that end product is the same.
And that is just the beginning.
You can see how these kinds of products would be much more expensive and how most people interested in making lotions and things would take an easier route - especially if they don't have any personal experience with the incredible effects simple herbs can have on the body.
It's also to be noted that there are many people who will take a different 'easy route' and still use herbs instead of chemicals, yes, but use them lazily. Then their products don't work because they didn't make them correctly and it gives all such things a bad name. (This is the majority, I think - again, because it's easy and these products can ride on the title of 'natural', and they'll sell, even if they aren't effective.)
Anyway, I don't actually know anything about Eminence's business practices, but I do know herbs and looking at their ingredient lists, the only way they could get the results they do are by doing everything right. So, I think they do and I'm happy to throw money at them.
And at Sugar Sugar because they are smart enough to carry them.1 Previous Review: Show all »

It's always awkward to ask a complete stranger to... "clean you up" and so far, everywhere I've gone it's been REALLY awkward... until... SUGAR SUGAR! This was my first time getting sugared, I can't say that it's any less painful than getting waxed. Pain is pain to me. When ever I decided I want hair RIPPED out, no one on this earth could ever convince me it wont hurt.
This place was kind of like a breath of fresh air because the girl I got was around my age. so our conversation was much more engaging than ones I've had before where I've felt awkward the whole time. I felt a lot more comfortable with her. -

It Gets Better Ladies!!
Once you leave that old age waxing behind you've crossed into a far less painful territory of hair removal. Especially if you've gritted your way through a Brazilian. My previous experience with one left me in my own pool of sweat and tears.
Sugar Sugar reformed me from my previous waxing experience. I originally thought sugaring was no different from waxing other than it be organic but the results proved: far less irritation, swelling, and redness. And major credit goes to the technician who made it quite possibly the least painful and quickest. There are also no second guesses here as to how clean the place is; it is super clean!
I'm guessing they are cutting back on the free pair of undies thing now, since I did not receive a pair like a few other yelpers - but I'm not miffed.
WORTH IT!! -

As a longtime shaver, this was my first foray into sugaring. I have very sensitive skin and was afraid to wax for years. Sugaring is so much better because it only removes the hair and dead skin cells, never burns, never rips live skin.
I got a coupon from Living Social a few months ago and gave it a go. Solana was so nice and eased me into my first sugaring. I've been a regular ever since. I see Solana and Alyssa, both are great and chat away so you are distracted from the discomfort.
Never had an issue finding street parking, even during the Greenlake 5K. I like that they call and/or send email reminders a day or two before your appointment. -

First sugaring and first brazilian last summer; I initially balked at the price, but a) it is on par with or less than other places, b) 3-4 months of the least messy periods of my life. SO WORTH IT.
Michelle is amazing! She was friendly, professional, and kept things non-awkward while fielding all my paranoid questions. I got great advice for after-care, and wasn't pressured to buy any products.
As an inveterate Google Cal color-coder, I actually really like their online appointment system, though the UI is admittedly not the greatest. Their hours are really nice too - it's helpful to be able to squeeze in a quick appointment at the end of the day, just before close, when school + work flood my normal business hours. -

I have to agree it can be difficult to make an appointment here. I sent an e-mail hoping it would be sufficient and was asked to call. I called a few times and ended up playing phone tag.
It was all worth it in the end, and had my first visit yesterday. Although I'm going on 21 weeks pregnant I felt that it wasn't an excuse to just let myself go. The only thing I was worried about was my brows. Now I've only had one person do my brows for the last 5 or 6 years so it was really tough for me to make this change. But I need someone I can go to, that can fulfill my waxing needs top to bottom. I expressed this and the person on the phone referred me to Nicole.
Thank you person on the phone! I love my brows and no longer a Sasquatch anywhere else. I'm not going to lie, it was painful down there (I've done both waxing and sugaring), but this was my first almost a year so I'm sure it'll get easier with each visit. I made my next appointment as soon as I was done- it seems to get busy fast there. I'm going to try their facials soon and follow up with a review about that. -

It was my first time ever getting a brazilian and it's hard for me to compare it to any other experience or place, but Sugar Sugar was everything I expected and more!
The online appointment system was easy and convenient. Got an appointment quickly with a friendly phone call reminder 3 days ahead.
The place itself was so cute but more importantly, CLEAN! The customer service was fabulous! Some salons can get pretty bougie and snooty but I didn't sense that at all with Sugar Sugar. They treated with me respect and I loved Kim! She's a true professional & put all my anxieties at rest.
Couldn't have asked for a better first time experience! Looking forward to my next appointment in 4 weeks! Well... kind of... hehe -
Review from Emily T.
Peer Pressure led me to Sugar Sugar. I'll be honest, until last week, I had always looked to waxing for my eyebrow maintenance needs. After reading one too many talk threads about waxings gone wrong, I started to thank my lucky stars that I even had eyebrows. Who cares that they're unruly, at least they're there. That sentiment lasted for a while, but vanity got the better of me and I knew I needed to find an alternative to waxing. Enter Sugar Sugar.
I'm not going to say sugaring doesn't hurt. You're still getting your hair yanked out, but it seemed to hurt slightly less than waxing. Also, it's true, the redness was minimal and short lived in comparison to my skin's reaction to waxing. Trying to think about anything but the pain of hair removal, I took special note of my surroundings. The bed was heated. Pop music playing. White ceiling, white walls, white bed, which made me think "clean". The woman who did the act of sugaring was friendly and not too chatty, which I prefer, since I'm too busy concentrating on not darting out the door to hold a decent conversation.
No horror stories to report and for that Sugar Sugar deserves five stars. -
Review from Sonya L.
So I will admit that I was a bit terrified to come into Sugar Sugar for my sugaring appointment. I'd had absolutely no previous experience with sugaring OR waxing, so I really had no idea what I was in for. As my tolerance for pain is extremely low, I figured pain and suffering eagerly awaited my arrival.
But boy, was I wrong. Granted, the process of having hairs ripped out of your skin never feels great, but the pain was not even close to as bad as I imagined and the process was quick and easy. Tobi was absolutely fantastic. She immediately put me at ease, making friendly and polite conversation with me the entire time and explaining what she was doing and how the process worked (and how it differed from waxing). I felt super comfortable the entire time I was there. There was VERY little pain or redness after my appointment, which was a nice surprise. I will be back for my maintenance appointment in about a month. I'm almost looking forward to it!
The space is clean, cute, and everyone who I encountered there was very friendly. And bonus: free panties! You can't get any better than that. 5 stars - this place rocks, hands down. -

Do you have a "bikini line"? Do you know what Brazilian means when not used to identify a person from Brazil? What do you think of when you hear the word TERRORDOME?
Before my first visit to Sugar Sugar, I had some... concerns. I have done a lot of crap to the downstairs jungle but I have never been able to bring myself to the waxing or sugaring tables before a few months ago. I thought I'd give the idea a shot, figuring I'm 29 and I've never actually heard of a real person within five degrees of separation from me dying from hair removal. Good odds! I turned to Yelp to look for waxing salons, but after reading the reviews for Sugar Sugar and doing a little research decided this might be the better way to go. I made an appointment for a Saturday afternoon and was scheduled with Solana.
I did all my prep work. I was well rested and hydrated, had taken an Ibuprofen 20 minutes prior, and was in the waiting room (nice, comfortable, light, with samples of weird lotions and cosmetics to play with while you're waiting) doing astral projection with my velvet bag of crystals when she came out. We went into the treatment room, which was a small, brightly-lit spot with a massage table in the middle and some vaguely Shabby Chic decor scattered throughout. Pretty chill. She left me to get ready, so I liberated myself from the lower half of my outfit and waited on the table under a towel for her until she came back. My palms immediately started sweating and I tried to zone out on the Natalie Merchant and U2 coming from the walls...
The process was a little long, and a little traumatic, but was overall MUCH less scary than I imagined it'd be. She talked to me about banal subjects to distract me - it was reminiscent of dental hygienist chat - and tolerated my maniacal laughter and weird breathing techniques during the harder parts. She gave me encouragement ("You're doing great, sweetie!"), and before I knew it we'd made it through. She slipped out of the room, I collected my skirt and my bearings, and went out to get my prize.
Oh, yeah - they've got drawers full of free drawers. Zebra print? Rainbow skulls? Peach lace? Whatever you want, they've probably got it. A free pair with every hedge trim. The initial price for a Brazilian is comparable to what I pay to get my hair colored, but if you book maintenance appointments within five weeks of each other, the price drops to around $20 less - good motivation to keep it high and tight.
I've been back several times since my first visit, and it gets much easier after the first time. It's still not fun, but it's not Mad-Max-level panic anymore. I highly recommend Sugar Sugar! -
Review from Faith Y.
The first time I've ever had any waxing done, I was mildly tipsy after stumbling into a random hotel and spa down an alley in Rome. While not quite as epic as that experience, Sugar Sugar was unassuming, friendly, quick and easy! Sugaring uses a ball of honey, sugar and lemon (all natural!) and rolls it on and off your skin to pull hair out completely. I found it much nicer than waxing and razors shall be a distant memory.
Pluses:
- The girl chatted my ear off as to distract me from the pizz-ain. Surprisingly and maybe I have a high pain tolerance but I didn't find it too ouchy at all. Maybe a flinch or two but it was over within 10 min. But still super awkward for me although she's seen everything and I mean everything when it comes to ladies.
- Knocked back the price to a Tini Bikini rather than a Tini Bikini Plus saying "eh, you didn't need much." Score!
- Free undies! It's the little touches that count.
- Uncrowded, spacious and friendly + their website is uber helpful
Minuses:
- I suppose I have to get used to paying $50 or more to indulge in services that groom the female self but I can't imagine doing this on a regular basis. Although I hear that 3 consecutive sugaring sessions makes hair softer and sparser. Color me happy.
Their services are catching on in popularity and as bikini season draws closer, you definitely need to make your appointments in advance. Their online service allows you to do it easy-peasy. And oh heyyyy, hopping on a plane to Hawaii in a few hours here, thanks Sugahhh! -

I've had sugaring done before and Nicole brought my expectations to a new level at Sugar Sugar. Not only are their products organic and non-fragranced, which is super important to me and my sensitive skin, but they give you a free paid of cute little panties after the service to boot!
For the most important critique.....
It was quick, it was even less painful than the waxing and sugarings I've had done before, and Nicole does a good job of talking you out of paying attention to the job at hand and more on other topics. Good trick! I had a full brazillian today and it is perfect. (sorry, can't post a picture!) I'll be back for sure! -

Sugar Sugar, I will never betray you again.
Seriously, believe the hype - it doesn't get better than this. The appointments can be set up online, the sugaring barely hurts and the redness doesn't last too long, the prices are fair, it's clean, the bed is heated, and you get free panties after every appointment!Listed in: Yes! Anytime I walk out of an establishment saying to myself, "That was the best [insert service here] that I've ever experienced," you know there's a 5-star yelp review a-coming.
I've done the waxing thing for years, and sugaring once. I wasn't too impressed with the one sugaring experience I had -- same as waxing, basically -- but apparently that's because it was "sugar wax" which is the same process with the strips of paper.
The sugaring at Sugar Sugar is totally different -- no ripping strips, way less painful, no post-appointment redness or soreness. Tobi was friendly, chatty and efficient. The price was at least $15 less than I'm accustomed to paying. Plus, they give you a free pair of underwear!?!
To sum up: best salon experience I've ever had, and even though I live all the way down in South Seattle, I plan to make repeat visits up to Ballard just for Sugar Sugar. -

Just a warning: sugaring your armpits does hurt less than waxing, but still hurts like a bitch. But I will totally do it again, because Michelle is awesome and thorough, and completely non-judgmental of anxious sugarees like yours truly.
To soothe my psyche after my armpit/bikini sugaring combo, I had a fantastic hour-long facial. Since I have really sensitive skin that gets random hives from the most benign-seeming things, Michelle did an all-organic/no chemical facial for me, and it was lovely. My skin and I were both very happy campers when I left. -

This was my first visit to Sugar Sugar and my first experience with sugaring...
I've always been someone to have waxing done (been doing it for years) & honestly didn't know about sugaring until Yelp....
I was a little worried when I showed up for my appointment 10 minutes early and there was no one around, yet I could hear voices. After about 5 minutes, someone came out of one of the rooms and "checked me in" stating that Tobi would be with me shortly.
The place looked extremely clean, which was a good sign.
Tobi came out, finished with her previous client & then told me she'd be right with me after changing the sheet on the bed, etc.
In the end, the experience was GREAT, LOVE the warm beds they have you lay on and lavender oil put on after...
I'm definitely going to be going back... It didn't hurt as much as waxing, it didn't cause me to be red (as waxing does) and it does the job just as well as waxing does. Not to mention, some of the other after effects that waxing has on me, has not shown up with sugaring...Listed in: Ballard, Personal Care

I love Sugar Sugar and I love Nicole. She is professional, friendly, but not too friendly (that would be weird) and available for 6pm appointments. I've only ever had Brazilians done here, but I know they do more and they just got a spray tan machine. Been waxing? Go sugar! It really is less painful, less messy, and hypo allergenic and I am completely sold.
The less than top stars is because when they run a special they really ONLY run it on those dates, even if you need to come in a few days earlier and you are a loyal customer. I would have extended it to a long time customer who asked politely. Still, I'm going to keep going here. Maybe forever.
