LOVE this place. Quality meats & cheeses, soft & fresh bread.
This is the only pastrami sandwich that I can eat without the guilt factor.. Not greasy but super delicious. Doesn't hurt that the owner & employees are super welcoming & friendly.
    Now, I'm hungry but they're closed :(

I'm just not in love with this place. I love this part of town, and the owner is so nice, but to be honest, the subs are really expensive and it just wasn't tasty enough for the price. It was nearly $10/sub, and they weren't that filling.

They do use premium Boar's Head meats, and it is fifty steps up from Subway, but the price doesn't justify the inconvenience of parking, limited hours, and taste factor.

Many people do enjoy it, so maybe you will find a sub you love too. However, this place wasn't for me.

This place is conveniently located to me and I love sandwiches so you'd think win-win.  And I do think they make a pretty decent sandwich.  Boar's Head meats are hard to go wrong with, and the sandwich names are fun hollywoody things so that's delightful, also they take credit cards and are open on sundays so it's a big step up there from the panini place that was here before them.

But they're just too expensive for me to eat on a regular basis.  Their prices actually went up so now you're paying close to $10 for a regular sub and I just don't think the sub is worth that much for what you're getting.  I pretty much only go now when Groupon offers me the full size sub for only $5.  That's a pretty good deal, but I would probably be a regular here if the same sub was around $7.50 or so, but there's just too many sandwich shops in the area, plus Ralph's deli counter isn't far away and they also serve Boar's Head.

One thing I'll defend them on is a lot of Yelpers have complained that their "Avocado" is actually quacamole.  Maybe it's changed since those reviews were posted but on my sub it wasn't quac, just avocado that had been smeared as a spread, which is pretty tasty.  I normally don't like quac personally so when I first saw it and thought that's what it was I almost returned the sub, but looking closer it didn't seem to have anything else in it but the mush of an avocado.

This place hit the spot for the sandwiches I had been craving. Boar's Head meats, fresh veggie ingredients, high quality bread. Hands down the best sandwich I've had in months.

I had "The Trilogy". Turkey, Roast Beef and Ham with provolone cheese. I should have treated it as two meals it was so large. I ordered the house Italian dressing on the side. It was good on the "test dip". It was zesty and perfect so I applied it to the entire sandwich.

The non-meat ingredients were diced and applied in a way subway could never dream of. The meat combination was perfect, salted well and I got that deli taste I've been after for months.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. They let me know mayo wasn't standard on their subs (mayo is often a must on sandwiches for me). I won't ever ask them for mayo again after the awesomeness of their house Italian- which is my measuring stick for quality subs. If it tastes better with dressing than mayo it's a good f'in sub.

So look to see me here in future ordering no-mayo, high-quality super subs.

Next time could earn a promotion to 5-star.

Good Ol' Groupon, that "buy me now" feature strikes again! Thankfully it allowed me to discover Studio Sub. Now the million dollar question to myself was, how did I not know about this place prior to Groupon?! It's simply fantastic!

I set my sights on "The Godfather" and boy was he a real winner! Let me just say that if you like Italian dressing on an Italian sub, ask them to add extra and go with the cherry peppers on it as well. So yummy! Great service, lovely outdoor seating, sandwiches were just delicious and who doesn't dig an Arnold Palmer every now and again to wash it all down?

Try this place and if you sit at the front tables and see an older lady either peering from the bushes, looking lost or perhaps one would think, hey maybe she's waiting for a ride in/by the parking lot? Nope! Let me just warn you about who that is...
she'd be the parking enforcement aka the owner of the parking lot. So fair warning, if you intend on parking in her lot and dare to walk to the Aroma Cafe, be ready to wave at the tow truck carrying a lovely vehicle you have the keys for.

No joke, watch for her! She keeps the dining interesting to say the least ;)

XXL sandwiches - just my size! Super nice and friendly; pressure-free ordering and dining; free parking and a cute little covered patio!

I ordered the Studio Club, with Turkey, Avocado (er, actually quacamole...see my comment below), Swiss, and Bacon.  Awesome!  Had some kind of chopped pickle relish that was really unique and great!  The roll was really good, but not the best (see Italia Deli in Santa Monica!).

    Suggested improvements: 2.
    =========================
    1) No wi-fi?!?  Such a nice outdoor patio!  Would love, and I am certain many other customers...to do a little writing or work meeting, while dining.

    2) The Studio Club is supposed to have avocado, but instead -- it has guacamole on it.  This is not the same at all to me.  I prefer Avocado, which doesn't give me onion breath!

I came across Studio Sub when I was interning across the street this past summer. What a fantastic place! I ate there every single week, religiously.

My favorite thing on the menu was "The Indie." It's a roast beef sandwich that I got with cheddar cheese. It came with a side of au jus and the horseradish that was in the sandwich was to die for. It was real, potent horseradish that left me in tears in a good way. They also have a quaint little patio in the back that's very nice and peaceful.

The owner, Stephanie, was always so nice and personable. They make you feel just like family here.

Definitely better this time as I omitted the tomatoes/onions/pickles/italian dressing from my sandwich. I switched to the Matinee (Tuna/Provolone/Avocado) and added cucumbers, pepperoncini, chipotle mayo & dijon mustard. The bread wasn't as soft/chewy as last time, but overall I think the Matinee tasted better than the Club. The tuna is chunkier and not a mushy blob like Subway's. I still think it would've been en pointe if it were a hot and toasty sandwich. My coworkers were not too impressed by their club and godfather subs... but at least it was only $5 with the Groupon again!

Love studio sub!  I'm from NY and you just can't get a good ny style deli sandwich out here, until I discovered this place.  I work at Coif across the street and live 2 blocks down the road and finally tried it after living here for 2 years!  I got the studio club, with turkey, avocado, swiss and I added some mayo.  The bread was soft and crusty, the turkey sliced think and great quality and the bacon was nice and crispy.

The owner was there and she and the other man behind the counter were so nice.  I am actually going there for lunch today, that's how I now it is good, 2 days in a row... yikes : /  The sandwiches seemed a little expensive, but for how much you get and the quality of the meat, it's def worth it.  Can't wait to try the other sandwiches.

hits the spot! I just moved here from indiana, and have been on the search for a good sandwich spot. finding studio sub is exactly what I needed!! fresh ingredients  of high quality, super-friendly staff, and tucked into an awesome quaint little spot off tujunga. I had the cold studio sub club, and it was yummy! I'm an avocado fiend :) the lady who helped me was very sweet, and gave me a to-go menu to take with me, so I'm already making plans for my next visit!!

Love it :) I've driven by it several times, and finally decided to try it. It had a nice, shady area where the pup and I could sit on this hot day. Stephanie at the window was lovely, and my food came out quickly.

Slightly expensive ($9-10), but the full sub is HUGE, so I split it between lunch and dinner. The Matinee is tuna/avocado/provolone--yummy. A little plain because it didn't have a lot of mayo, but that's better anyway. I would've preferred a lot more avocado, though.

I'll go back to try The Studio Club and their soups!

Great location, ample parking, nice employees, but The Godfather was just okay, especially factoring in the price.  No where near the caliber of Bay Cities (Santa Monica) or All About The Bread (Hollywood) ...  More like hot dog style toppings instead of a traditional  Italian sub ...

Stopped by with my Mom... Love the outdoor seating. She had the White bean Lentil Soup... not too salty ("that's what she said")... had bits of carrots & celery... it was warm and definitely hit the spot for her.

I stumbled on this little sandwhich shop over the weekend, and was pleasantly surprised that my sandwich was AWESOME! (I was also starving so this review could be a little tainted!)

I got the Studio Club w/out the bacon. It was so right on time and it satisfied my appetite. I practically woofed it down. Stephanie who took my order, was a blast to converse with. She told me that they have only been open for 6 months. My hats off to you guys, keep up the great tasting subs.

Also, I sampled the chili, it was to DIE for. I will definitely have to get a cup of that the next time I am in the neighborhood. I highly reccommend checking this place out if you are ever in the valley and need a quick sub. A great hidden treat in the valley.

I have to say I was really expecting a great quick meal since I have read about Studio Sub in a couple of publications.  First of all, my friend and I ordered two sandwiches, one soup, a chili and two drinks and it was $30 bucks!!!  WOW.  The  soup and chili cups were rather small for almost $4 and the sandwiches had virtually no TASTE!!  The veggie sandwich  my friend ate was gross and my friend also asked for NO onions.  Of course it came with ONIONS. The soft drinks were terrible, they had a stale taste to them.  All in all it was horrible and we'll never go back again.  What a rip off, I wonder how long they will stay in business.  If not for tasteless food; the high pricing should turn customers away.  There are so many other places that are much better AND cheaper.

After driving by the former home of Press Panini and seeing it's rebranding, I was filled with anxiety. I loved Press Panini- the food was creative, tasty and high-quality, if a little expensive.

I'd stopped going to Press on a regular basis in the interest of eating more healthfully, and in that time, I had apparently lost my favorite sandwich spot!

I decided that I should probably investigate before calling the place a total loss, so I stopped by Studio Sub last week with my bro. As I've mentioned in other reviews, my brother and I basically have exact opposite taste in food- he likes boring American food, and I like textures and colors and flavors and newness and good quality ingredients.

Personally, I don't like lunch meat. it kinda weirds me out- they process the hell out of it! I'll eat a little roast beef, because it seems like it could have come straight off the cow and looked that way. However, when I eat roast beef I like it with avocado and basically nothing else- I don't even really need bread.

So when Studio Sub turned out to be a boring Italian deli-style sandwich shop, I was bummed. They have Boar's Head, which is great, but they don't have a lot of options for my rather peculiar palate.  My brother really liked his sandwich, but he's more into this type of cooking than I am....

We're sitting in the back patio area eating our sandwiches, and I'm lamenting my abandonment of Press. Did the magical sandwich man go out of business because I stopped eating grilled cheese all the time?? Would I ever be able to find a delicious grilled cheese like the one I liked so much at Press???

Then, out of nowhere, the man who used to make all the sandwiches when the place was Press came out of the back!!!! He told me that he can still make all my favorites from Press!!!!!!!

That made me feel a ton better, because I probably wouldn't have come back otherwise. The service was really friendly, and the price isn't bad, but I have much less interest in a roast beef sandwich than I'd have in a Press grilled cheese sandwich.

Fresh, thoughtfully constructed, AUTHENTIC subs. Growing up on the north shore of Boston, I was spoiled by great subs from small mom-and-pop sub shops. Having lived in LA for almost 10 years, I have not been able to find one shop that compared to the literally dozens of shops in my home town alone. Until now. Studio Sub, although expensive, gets it right. They get the bread right (this is critical!). They get the deli meat right (sliced thin and loaded up tight). They get the veggies right (diced tomatoes not sliced!). They even get the "hots" right (Cherry peppers, not jalapeños!!) I have grown to accept Subway, but now I will drive the extra blocks so I don't have to anymore.

Try the Godfather and don't forget the hots!

To the owner - please hire someone to open at night and deliver!

This place was great! I went with my boyfriend over the weekend and got the #6, French Dip Sandwich. The bread was amazing and the au jus was hot and tasted amazing! The only part I regretted was getting the half instead of the whole. I wanted more before it was done!

The service was amazing. They give free refills if you ask them and they made everything very quickly. We sat out front, but there's also a nice patio behind the shop too that's shaded and cute to relax and enjoy your meal. They also serve Boar's Head which is awesome. I really am glad that I stopped by here. I'll be coming by again soon!!

I'm quite addicted to Studio Sub sadly. They make exactly what I want in an "Italian-Style" sub. Good fresh bread with top notch meat and cheeses overflowing with tangy peppers and onions. That's "the Godfather." Get it. This is the perfect little quick sandwich shop which is completely worth the extra couple of bucks for a giant premium sandwich. I have put on 5 pounds since finding this place though....

Great people, great sandwiches and great atmosphere!

Went there for the first time and the owner and employees were all so friendly and welcoming.  They really make you feel appreciated.

Ordered the #2 which is the New Yorker and it comes with the Italian cold cuts.  It was very fresh and tasty but be careful when you eat it because it's so loaded with goodies that it overflows from the sandwich!

I had to get a fork for the clean up after eating the sandwich (yes, I'm a pig!).  I'm glad I did because every good sandwich shop has a unique characteristic to their sandwiches.  This place has the veggies that were in the sandwich.  I terminated it with more ferocity than Arnold Schwarzenegger did to the state budget!  and, I'LL BE BACK!  I heard the tuna was really good so I'll have to try that on my next visit.

They have a covered patio in the back which is very cozy and nice if you don't want to sit street side.  I like to sit on the sidewalk because if you've ever been to that little stretch of Tujunga you'll know that everyone wants to side on the sidewalk.  Studio Sub is pet friendly so bring the pooch if you want to get a bite while walking the dog.

All in all, you're going to like it if you want a hearty sub and tasty sides.
Go on an empty stomach or plan on bringing half of the sandwich home for a bite later.

I was expecting a deli but was suprised to find a clean little sandwich shop with a patio in the back.
If you order the Oscar eat it on the patio. I made the mistake of getting in my car. Great big messy sandwich. I had heard the owner had a tasty sausage but this was better than expected. The sauce was something grandma used to make. Had a tough time picking a sandwich so I will be going back for more samples and probably update my review. Much better than the Sub place across from where I am working so the drive was worth it.

Come to find that they have really really really good subs here. They feature Bore's Head meat, which is the best out there. Plus they are reasonably priced as well and large. Prices are comparable to subway. I got the roast beef dip sandwhich, can't remember the name but was one of the best dubs i'v ever had. Definitely recommend this hidden jewel. Worth going to.

Saw the great reviews and decided to stop by and try it out today.  Not too impressed.  The meat and cheese were quality and the toppings tasty, but the bread was way too tough.  It was one of those that towards the end of the sub all the insides are squirting out the end like a tube of toothpaste because the bread is so tough to get through.  My other issue is that I ordered my sub without tomatoes, and   and of course it was loaded with tomatoes.  Even after scraping them off, I was nearly to turned off to eat, but I was ravenous and just put those nasty little red things out of my mind.  The staff was super friendly, the atmosphere was laid back and pleasant, but I just can not get past that bread, figuratively and literally, and the lack of following directions.  I'll wait a while and try again because everything else was positive and hopefully I just got a bad batch of bread and the wrong sandwich maker.  I would say worth a try, but if the bread was like mine, and you have a special request, you might be disappointed.

I just had a really great lunch! I had The Trilogy sandwich. I ordered a half (which was thick and LOADED, unlike Subway which gives you no meat and bad service) and a bowl of soup, Chicken with Rice. Not only did I get it VERY quickly, but the service was exceptional. The kind of personal service and kind care for their product that I will drive across town for. This place is definitely not a franchise or chain, its someones passion. I met the owner (forget her name). The soup was homemade and very tasty on this rainy day. The sandwich was not what I was expecting visually. It kinda looked like a loaded up hotdog almost. The pickles and tomatoes were diced instead of sliced and I have to say it tasted much better this way and the tomatoes weren't all smashed or drippy like most sandwich places. Great idea! And their bread was fresh and great. I ate on the little patio out back. I know this is a glowing review and you may think I'm the owner's cousin or something, but I'm just someone who was impressed. This was my first time there (I guess they have been open 5 mos) but I truly think they are just the kind of mom n pop operations that are at the heart of Studio City and I will certainly be back for more of their delicious food. Give em a shot.

Ways to improve? Serve coffee. A few more vegan/vegetarian options. A few more sauces choices.

Not only are the sandwiches affordable and delicious, their proportions are ridiculous.  But it's the service that keeps me going back.  Being handed a sandwich here is like being handed a lunch from your mother right before you run off for school.  It's filled with love and happiness.

Great discovery, now a regular haunt. Subs topped with diced tomatoes onion and pickles.  Dog friendly which is huge for us, and owner Stephanie is super nice.

Lot parking. No need for street or valet like across town like Hollywood or even across the street at Aroma.

Closest comparison is Santoros which is less expensive but we seldom end up there because it's out of the way and the atmosphere is a little bleak.  Studio sub is closer and much more cheery.

How in the hells bells is this place getting all these stars?! I think they have their friends writing Yelp reviews because this place is a rip off. The sandwiches are mostly big puffy bread, with very little meat or cheese and tasteless. But the worst offense is that it's waaaay overpriced! Bring that box of Krugerrands you've been keeping under the bed because 2 sandwiches, some chips and drinks is almost 30 bucks! For a small bag of chips they charge 2 dollars. Are you serious Studio Sub? If I could give this place zero stars I would, but in order to write a review I have to rate it. I will not be back.
