I discovered this place with my fellow yelpers cuz I was looking for flaxseed, agave nectar, pysllium flakes and quinoa.
I've never been to a bulk barn type place like this, and now I'm cursing at myself why! This place was like a dollarstore for food. I was like in heaven for all the different things they have. SO MANY THINGS, and for so cheap!

And the girls there are quite knowledgeable and friendly.

Definately come back and buy bulk for recipes and what not. so awesome.

This is where I grab my nuts!  Strictly Bulk is much like your Bulk Barn stores, only with a less consistent colour scheme.  If you shop in such places, you know what to expect: large bins of heaped product, ready to be bagged and weighed at the counter cash.  In this sense, they succeed: there are many heaps, each with their own scoop (usually), and the counter cash is helpful in making you pay for your portion.  They are often smiling when they're not leaning.

But if you're not into heaps and would prefer more a package, don't worry, as they have plenty of packages as well.  Some contain jam, others oil, but rest assured they are sealed and long since produced in a factory.  There's also soy milk and a few cartons of eggs in the back fridge.

This is a pretty good place I tend to shop at fairly constantly.  Sometimes I wish the bins were a bit cleaner, maybe neater, but this is bulk buying, and I realize you can't expect tidiness with hundreds of people opening the same flap and digging through consumables with a special food spade.  We're cretins and that is simply the lifestyle.

They also have one of those big machines that excretes peanut butter.  Do you like those?  I don't.  But there's one here, so bring your tub or jar or whatever.  I guess I'm still too civilized.

This place has EVERYTHING....but in BULK! So you can have just a little bit of everything or a lot of everything.

I go here for raw pumpkin seeds, chamomile flowers, sea salt and sometimes pasta. Oh, and jujubes and yogurt covered raisins.

They also sell bulk cookies, slabs of chocolate for melting (...or eating, I won't judge), all types of rice, beans, spices, coffee beans, tea, buckwheat and white honey, oh and a wall of eco friendly products (ladies, they sell biodegradable pads....).

All of it's seriously cheap and seriously fresh. It's seriously good. Ser-iously.

As other reviewers mentioned, great selection and good for when you need just a little of something for a recipe or the like.   I usually go looking for something specific but wind up buying other things as well.  Prices seem very fair and I haven't yet seen any sign of insects of problems.

Seems a popular place for the neighbourhood urchins to buy candy.

A nice selection of bulk goods and generally good prices. I generally buy simple things like almonds, rice milk, tea and flour (hard wheat, rye). I've noticed they've started to carry more organic products.

My only complaint is that the pricing system for packaged goods is annoying. They have these printouts which lists all the prices for a product category. So you need to figure out exactly which brand and size you are looking at, which is a nightmare with items like tea and juice which have a huge variety.

Also, some items simply don't have prices. I gather they expect you to ask, but I generally just don't bother. If they can't be bothered to list a price, I'm not going to carry it to the front of the store to get a price.

[btw, I'm referring to the location at: 924 Bloor Street West, Toronto, ON M6H 1L4]

This bulk store is small, but it still has a good selection: you may have to ask where things are, though, because there's a lot squeezed in and the labels aren't too prominent.

While Strictly Bulk may not look flashy (and it has that musty, bulk goods smell), it's still a great place to get hard-to-find dry goods. It's especially useful for stuff that would otherwise be really expensive--for instance, if you need a handful of pine nuts, or juniper berries, for a recipe.

In a city seriously lacking very many bulk barns, this store tries to fill the gap. It has a fair selection of bulk items and lots of interesting organic packaged foods, cleaning supplies and teas. I don't find the staff super friendly, but I don't really need a chipper buik food experience, so I'm not terribly bothered by this. The spice section is great, affordable and fresh.

Love this place! The selection isn't as extensive as Bulk Barn but they've got (what I consider to be) all the necessities: muesli for $1.99, organic quinoa for $3.99, TVP for $1.49, 200g of prepackaged nutritional yeast for $4.39... also a good selection of pasta, nuts, flours and whole coffee beans. The items that are prepackaged (ie. cereals) tend to have prices comparable to other stores but this is understandable.
