- The Steak is good
- Nice Atmosphere
- We had good service from our waiter
- Prices are normal for a steakhouse
****** I'm not a huge fan of baked potatoes, but you have to go with the twice-baked potato! It won't disappoint! *******
We were also too full to get a dessert, but our waiter brought us some of the chocolate that's made in house with our bill. Was a good end to the meal.
Also, I think they have a deal on either Tuesdays or Thursdays (can't remember which day) for 2 steaks and a bottle of wine for $50. sounds pretty good. -

What a terrible restaurant. The steak was tough, extremely chewy and half of it was fat. One of my friends ordered a steak medium well which came out more red than my medium rare steak. Another friend of mine ordered a medium rare steak which came out dry, when he sent it back the chef returned it to him and said it was fine. Fourthly (for those who are counting) another friend ordered one of the meals that are set by the chef (rather than one you assemble on your own) and they forgot the peppercorn sauce that it comes with. She waited about 10 minutes for the sauce and by the time she started most of us were half way through our meals. We left very dissatisfied, if you're going to call yourself "steak" you should be able to grill a steak properly and get proper cuts of beef. This place doesn't deserve to be in business.

With a name like steak- you had better do one thing exceptionally well. Unfortunately, the kitchen was in poor form on our recent visit. The ambience is great- modern bistro and in the middle of Byward Market's bustling dinner scene. The service was friendly and adequate- with a couple of oversights: 1. I made clear on the reservation it was for a birthday and no mention was made of the occasion; 2. I asked for a quiet, private table in the reservation, yet we were seated next to the busy entrance. The one bright spot was a nice bottle of Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc. My wife had the bacon wrapped filet with gorgonzola sauce, lemon asparagus, and green beans. I had the lobster stuffed ravioli- which was actually not ravioli at all. First the steak- the initial bite was perfect- great flavor, nicely cooked, very good with the gorgonzola. Bite two revealed a large fatty mass that was about 2 oz of the 6 oz of steak, and unheard of for a filet mignon cut at any respectable restaurant. It ruined the dish and in hindsight I cannot imagine how this cut of meat ever made it to the line. On the plus side, the vegetables were perfect (perhaps they should go vegetarian). My lobster ravioli was actually small chunks of lobster meat stuffed in large shell pasta with spinach and ricotta. The overwhelming taste was bitterness, and I could not put my finger on the source, but it pervaded the entire dish. The lobster was also fairly light. Neither of us would return given the much better choices surrounding Steak. For a dinner of over $150, it was very disappointing.

This place probably has the best food on the Clarence strip of resto-bar-lounges. I had a chance to try Steak for a friends bachelor party so we were a pretty large group.
Steak has a nice clean modern look with a smallish patio on the outside. The place is beautiful inside and out, including the serving staff :)
I thought the prices were going to be extremely high but they were in line with chain steak houses.
I ordered the NY strip with a side of veggies and it was good, not great but definitely good. I found my steak just slightly overcooked but with our large group I have to let it slide. I'd say it was slightly better than The Keg if I had to give it a comparison. The service we received would have been really good for a small group, so for the large group that we had, I'd like to say it was fantastic for any restaurant.
The meal was pretty filling and there was no way I was putting away a dessert so we continued on with our shenanigans for the night. -

When you go to a steakhouse you expect one thing: excellent steak. Steak delivered that. The prices are what you'd expect. The service was excellent. I was apart of a large group and the server made sure to check in on us appropriately.
My steak was cooked perfectly and the side of mashed potatoes were delicious. There was a decent selection of wine to go with your meal.
I'm recommending this over the big name chain steakhouses. -

I ordered a steak at Steak. Go figure. My steak was good but not great.
Decent service, but very dim atmosphere (at some times I was wondering what I was cutting in to!).
To me it's a bar that serves good steak. Not a steakhouse that serves drinks. Go there with friends for cocktails but I've tasted better steaks out there. -

Ordered 11 oz sirloin. Done-ness was correct but lacked flavour - of beef or spices. Sides of smashed sweet potatoes and salad were good though.
Nice decor. Go for appetizers and drinks if you like, but for steak, it remains true that the backyard barbeque tastes the best and costs the least. -

I loved this place! We were coming from the comedy club on a Monday night and wanted to stop somewhere for dessert. There's a row of pubs, bars and restaurants down this one stretch but everything seemed to be closed at 11pm except for this place so we wandered in around 5 after 11. The staff was SO nice and the atmosphere was even better. There's a huge walk-in wine cooler in the middle of the room, a nice-sized patio and beautiful huge doors that open all the way up so the people on the patio can walk right in to the bar/restaurant. The waiter told me what his preferred drinks were since I seemed slightly indecisive and when it came to dessert he talked me out of carrot cake and into getting the cheesecake which was awesome. The décor and atmosphere was nice but there were also tvs around so I could watch the New Orleans game. It couldn't get any more perfect! Whether you're going for dinner, dessert, or just drinks I'd suggest this place to anyone.
