S Express. You rule. You make it a point of remembering everyone's name, drink and what their 'dealio' is. I definitely feel as though I'm going into a family member's house (except there's no one yelling from upstairs to answer the phone).
Good, strong espresso made well. Well enough to rival or better any other coffee shops in the area.
Consistent coffee that doesn't suffer when it gets busy, thanks to great efficiency behind the counter.
And it's the only place where you can sit down with a newspaper and catch up with morning television while gazing at the bustle of Waterfront Station.Listed in: Vancouver Americanos

I concur with other posters regarding the service. Friendly, efficient and personable. Food has some imagination to it. Atmosphere is typical coffee shop. I choose it as a alternative to the nearby Starbucks every time (except weekends when they are closed...a deal they had to make with Starbucks or...?). And there you have it.

I hear this place makes the greatest sandwiches - they all seem like they were made ahead of time, showcasing in the display case, but I've never heard complaints. Whenever my boyfriend has staff meetings, they always get their goodies catered upstairs. Always rich, tasty and delicious.
Today, I got a molasses cookie. They are all wrapped in saran wrap, sealing the freshness in. It was moist and "molassy"... i like :) -

On top of the amazing location (in a back corner or the ornate Waterfront Station), this is a simply awesome café with efficient service and great food.
During a recent visit I looked at the Starbucks and its huge lineup, then started looking around for an independent option. I found it in the west corner.
Although there was a moderate-sized line at the Station Express Café, I've never been served this quickly at any coffee shop. Ever. The staff members here move at such an efficient speed. I ordered a dark roast and a cheese croissant. It came to $3.12, and even though I had to use debit (I know, I know, I'm not usually one of *those* people) the cashier didn't bat an attitude-y eyelash. Wow, I'd forgotten how refreshing it is not to get barista attitude!
The coffee was one of the best I've sipped recently, although I didn't notice any info signs about the coffee so unfortunately I can't offer further insight. And the croissant beat out those I'd eaten the previous weekend from Bordeaux Patisserie for double the price. The outside was crisp and inside flaky. Best of all, after saving half my croissant for later that morning, none of the grease had leeched through the paper bag. That's the closest thing to a supernatural occurrence I've ever experienced.
There are also some nice little tables to enjoy your beverage to stay. Not a view, unfortunately, but of course then I'd have to petition Yelp to add a sixth star this review. So I suppose it all works out in the end. -

Station Express looks great and the people were very personable. My only problem with it was that the chai latte I ordered had hardly any chai at all. It was a little disappointing.
