After dinner at the Boathouse, my bf took me dancing at the Starlight Casino RedBar Lounge. During dinner, I had mentioned twice that I felt like dancing after dinner and he said something that didn't seem to elude that we were going to go. When he drove across the Queensburough Bridge, I thought he had gone the wrong way when he was going to take me home. We ended up at the Casino and it still didn't click to me that we were going to go dancing until we approached RedBar Lounge. The bf told me that he had planned the night to take me to listen to live music since I love listening to live music!

There was a live band going on called the Luv Shak and they played awesomely well. From rock to pop to ultra classic songs, Luv Shak was able to lure a large crowd onto the dance floor. We ordered some drinks and left our belongings at a table that we shared with a man who was in his late 40's. He kept staring at us (likes to people watch or couple watch to be more specific) so when our drinks finally arrived, we took one sip and dashed to the dance floor to avoid the awkward stare.

The group of people on the dance floor were from their early 40's to their late 60's and let me tell you, some knew how to boogy down! They looked like they were having fun with the music and this made the environment amazing! You have people doing the jives, line dancing, disco dancing, etc. - it was just fantastic!! Again, although I was under-dressed because of casual fridays at work, I had an awesome time! And nobody cared what you wore! A fantastic way to end the day!

This isn't a review for the Casino itself but for the Red Bar lounge. My mom decided to take me to dinner here since she got some voucher. She talked this place up like it was the classiest place in the world, however, was disappointed when I walked in. It was dead, no ambience, no décor, loud basketball game in the background and the waitress wasn't rude but wasn't friendly either. I made more effort trying to get her to crack a smile than I did investing in a conversation with my mother, sad really. They're not as friendly and open minded as the River Rock. The food was terrible. My salmon had juice fat on the top. It was platted very unappetizingly. The veggies were nicely buttered, salmon was flaky, however, the rice borderline on dry. Overall not impressed with the service or food.

Definitely one of the nicer (well, only) casinos in the area.

Parking is ample in the "basement" lot, but be sure to also look up top (up the ramp) by the main entrance.

This location is definitely quieter than River Rock, but this is not a bad thing.  The tables aren't as crowded.  BC Lottery has really been cleaning up the various venues over the years, and it's really nice to walk into an upscale lounge-looking venue as opposed to some smoke-filled dungeon from days past.

The machines are no different from any other place, so no point comparing them here.

What I do like though is the restaurant selection.  If you want to watch UFC or Western-style food watch a show, hit up Redbar.  For a sports bar, go to Schanks.  For Asian food, hit up Kirin or Shang.  Got pretty much everything I need to stay fed around here.

What can i Say "I LOVE CRAPS"

When i was living in Vancouver Canada this past Summer for 3 months. This place was my Las Vegas a way from home, but instead of the 4 hour California drive it was only 5-10 Min Away.

Great Casino for Everything, Poker, Black Jack, and more.

I started to go here like 3 times a week for 1-2 hours. I started to become a regular and they started to call me by name. Does this mean i have a problem? I would never loose too much and would know my limit.

This review is primarily for the sports bar.

My cousins, a couple of their friends and I came here to watch the Canucks-Kings game.  I was blown away by their huge projector screen setup and was envious and resented the fact that the Bay Area doesn't have such a place, (although Old Pro in Palo Alto gives it a run for the money).

The food was decent, the beer flowed like the salmon of Capistrano, and the service was friendly and quick.

I've been here a few times, it good for a night out.

It boasts a large sports bar as well as the "red room" which has had live music each time I have visited the casino. Both have a large seating area and great service.

I typically partake in some light gambling - I enjoy the penny slots. For quite some time my boyfriend and I were able to break even there. One night I saw a girl pull two jackpots on a 2c machine within 5 minutes, so obviously their machines do pay. It does get quite busy, especially on the penny machines but it is good brainless fun once you sit down at one and pretty low risk.

I prefer this to other casinos (the new one in Burnaby and the one in Coquitlam) It is a good size, and lots of parking.

What is nice about this casino is that it has huge flatscreens everywhere!

You can always catch the latest score on that Canucks game as you're busy gambling.

The style is very reminiscent of Planet Hollywood in Vegas.  Being located relatively tucked away from public transportation and in a newly developing area (Queen's Landing)  makes this a great place to go and avoid the larger casino crowds.

I'm sure with time it will become busier, but in the time being. Enjoy it for what it is! Pure fun entertainment.

A sports junkie's dream. Great atmosphere and huge inside. I should also mention that they are top 10 in Vancouver for hamburgers. The chef is famous and his skill trickles down, even to the simplest meals. Everything is cooked perfectly.

Parking was not too bad, but there are a few construction zones bordering the property which is a little inconvenient.

Overall, I recommend it and will return there soon.

A smaller casino seemingly full of senior citizens. Avoid around 8 or 9 PM because they have some draw during which an announcer's voice blares throughout the place ad-nauseum while he tries to sell you on participating in the draw.
