Review from Alain S.
Edmonton, AB
This is a refreshing change from the Starbucks in Safeway at 97 St. and 137 Ave. Overall a pretty nice place to work, but there are only two tables conducive to setting up a laptop and doing some work.
While there aren't many tables inside, if you like working outside on a patio, this Starbucks has one of the best I've seen. They have five tables on a large patio and a couple of big umbrellas. The road next to it isn't that noisy and the neighbourhood is relatively quiet. A nice setting to work or relax in.
I've been to this Starbucks a few times now and it's one of my favourites. Doesn't hurt that it's not too far from home.
Busyness - Early afternoon here means the traffic is slow and the store is pretty well empty, leaving a good choice of seats. The drive-thru seems to be pretty busy though.
Noisiness - The music, as in many Starbucks, is ever-present, but it's not an especially noisy place. Today the choice is latin music. I don't know whether to work or take a siesta. I'm sure on a hot day the blenders would be humming and really make the place noisy.
Ambience - I like the layout and colour scheme of this store. It's relaxing and if you like cool, the air conditioning setting is low here. It's like a refrigerator.
Power - Plenty of choices for seating and outlets available.
Free wifi - It's available and works well.
Staff - Lots of friendly staff at this location.
Seating - There are 17 seats inside, with four comfortable armchairs available. There are only two tables inside that are worth using a laptop on. There are seven bar seats that you can set up your laptop at, if you like working that way.
Security - It seems to be a pretty good neighbourhood.
