If I have a "home base" outside of home, this might be it. This Starbucks location is pretty close to home and of the four Starbucks locations within 100 metres of 137 Avenue and 97 Street, this is my favourite.

One bit of advice I'd give for people wanting to do some work at Starbucks is to get a Starbucks card and register it. If you load the card up with some cash and purchase your coffee on it you can get a free refill. If you're going there a lot, it's very worthwhile.

Busyness - Pretty steady traffic, but fairly quiet mid-morning.

Noisiness - The music is at not a bad volume, but the closer you are to the prep area, the more you hear the refrigerators & baristas doing their thing. I think that you'll hear the blenders less in the winter. You might consider your own tunes if you're not fond of the sort of jazzy, independent kind of music typical of Starbucks.

Ambience - Overall it's a pretty comfortable place, albeit a bit small, but most Starbucks locations seem to be. There are a few comfortable chairs in the corner and a bench seat in another corner.

Power - There seems to be a decent amount of outlets, but along the windows you're going to have trouble.

Free wifi - Of course it's available and it's nice that Starbucks makes it free for everyone now.

Staff - I've always found the staff to be pretty friendly here, even before I became a regular.

Seating - There are 17 seats inside and a number of seats outside. The tables tend to be a bit small, but there is one large table that is good for laying out more than just your laptop.

Security - The neighbourhood is good but you should always watch your laptop.
