I'm not big on Starbucks or any chain coffee and, to be honest, no one needs to be in today's world.  However, the high street starbucks is just such a good location.  They've got a decent sized patio that looks inviting while driving/walking around that area.  The inside space is not so big, with Strarbucks going for a narrow design with a few 2-seater tables and a few couches at the back.

The staff at this location also seem to be quite friendly and since they're usually frequented by more relaxed people (given that it's in the high street), there's a very homely feel about it - almost like a neighborhoody feel.  However, I must add that I've been here on a couple of weekdays and it has been crowded.  So, it certainly looks like the cat's out of the bag!

Although I love the idea of a patio, I don't know how useful it is in Edmonton, given that we have 4-5 months of patio season, at best.  Perhaps they could have gone with a larger and more spacious shop without a patio?  It's a two-edged sword though, because patios are great.

I LOVE this location. This is possibly my favorite Starbucks in the Edmonton vicinity. There is just that something special about the Highstreet area that I can't quite describe. It is a feeling and until you visit on a sunny afternoon you may not know what I am referring to.

Anyways the Starbucks itself is in the end unit of a strip mall giving it access to a great patio space. Well the patio isn't as large as it could be; they make the best of the space available. I like that the patio feels somewhat secluded and has a mix of trees (providing shade) and sunny spots.

Inside is tight on space too. Again they make the best of the space available but there are not too many tables and chairs. It is always clean and tidy and there are bathroom available for patrons. As this is a busy location I appreciate that the service is always stellar - the staff are friendly while remaining efficient.

The location is what makes this Starbucks special - you must try it out!

If I had to pick a favourite Starbucks in Edmonton, I think this one would be it. The only way to describe this setting is that it is wonderful. This is what a coffee place should be.

It has a great setting and the building is nice also. It's an older brick building with tall arched windows and a high ceiling. It's a nice change from the modern-style Starbucks I'm normally in. I get the feeling that this place has been here longer than most of the Starbucks in Edmonton.

It's a very relaxing location that is conducive to having a relaxing chat with a friend or avoiding the stress of the office.  It's not far from downtown either. I just wish it was closer to home for me.

I will now judge every other Starbucks I go to by this one.

Busyness - It's pretty steady. Obviously it's a popular coffee place in this older neighbourhood. I get the feeling I was lucky to get the biggest table in the place.

Noisiness - Aside from the occasional blender, it's generally pretty quiet. The music is at an acceptable level and I'm tucked away at the back, so I miss much of the traffic.

Ambience - I understand this is called High Street and it's a great area just a short distance from 124 St.

Power - The booths don't seem to have power but the other tables look to have power available. You may have to stretch a cord in some areas. I don't know if the patios ever have power.

Free wifi - Yes, free wifi is available and works well.

Staff - They're friendly as always. I got my coffee quickly as I usually do. I almost always order coffee, unless I'm at a Starbucks in the evening when I order passion tea. If it's got an 'O' on the end of its name, I probably will never order it.

Seating - It's not a big place, but it's laid out well and it has a lot of seats. The prep area doesn't take up half the floor space, like it seems to in some places. There are 24 seats with two of them being comfortable armchairs. Those seats also include three great little two-seat booths. With one large table to work at, you'll easily fit four people. The outdoor patio is huge (nine tables) and on a hot day it would be really nice to enjoy sitting out in the shade of the huge trees (elms?) lining 125 St.

Security - Seems like a pretty good area, but I'd still lock up the laptop or bring it with me when heading to the washroom.

It's nearly always too busy, which I suppose is just a thing to deal with.  When not too busy, it's a lovely place to sit and enjoy a tasty beverage with a friend or with a book.  They have a deck so in the summer, they double their seating capacity so long as the mosquitoes aren't biting.

I've been there several times and have received adequate service.

Yesterday, I wanted their egg-whites, feta, and spinach sandwich.  It was unavailable and so the person apologized and then removed the sample from their display -- this tells me they care about their customers.  The fellow making the drinks needed help, though -- there were 5 people waiting for drinks by the time I joined the line.

I am not one for chain coffee places, but as far as Starbucks goes, this is one of the best. It has an intimate atmosphere and is located in a very artsy shopping block. Unfortunately, it is almost always too busy and even in the heart of a weekday afternoon it can be difficult to find a seat.
