Just moved into Yaletown and have had good experience with this store. I normally buy a specific brand of raw dog food sold far across town on Denman St.
When I visited Star Pets, they only had a larger size and did not carry the smaller package size that I needed. The owner called his rep and immediately placed an order for me. He gave me free samples of the same product to bridge the gap until my order came in. He has since made an effort to keep the product I need in stock, such wonderful customer service.
Prices are the same as we've found in other pet stores around town. Great, friendly service! -

I have to agree with Cheryl M. on this one. I came here on three separate occasions, and the owner appeared sort of "cold" when my friend purchased just a toy. On another occasion, my friend bought a buddy belt, a large bag of kibbles, and a toy, and the owner was a little more friendly. I came here on a Sunday, and the lady that was working that day was very nice and friendly- I came in to just buy a toy for my dog, since we were in the area, and I also wanted a smaller package of raw food to purchase, but she didn't have any that day. So the lady happily gave me a free sample package of raw dog food for my dog. I guess the service just depends on whose working that day; as the lady is really nice and friendly.

The gentleman and the lady who serve me at this store are knowledgeable, concerned for the well-being of their customers' pets, and always helpful. I now buy most of my dog's food and supplies at their store. They have a full range of healthy foods and supplies and they take time whenever possible (unless customers are waiting) to discuss all sorts of issues that concern pets. I've never felt that they base their attention on how much I spend, I like their points system and I feel their prices are fair. I really appreciate Star Pets Only and hope they stay in business for a long time to come.

Pricey, but a fun store. They have everything you need, and everything in style that a dog could ask for.
Most importantly, the owner is great. I was going to get a dog, so I purchased almost $200 worth of the essentials (including dry food). I ended up not doing that and he let me refund absolutely everything, and was friendly while doing so. -

I really just go here to get food for my dog when I run out at the office as it's right around the corner. They always give her a treat which is nice as she now expects it and sits looking up at them until they notice her. They've got all the staples that you need for a pet.

Friendly staff and plenty of products to chose from. The only reason for 3 stars is the return policy. Store credit or exchange instead of refund. Not a deal breaker though.

One of my favourite stores in Vancouver just because they have great stocks with relatively decent prices. I personally find their price points more reasonable than barking babies. They have good selections of cute dog beds and dog dens. (Yes, dogs have dens too) The owner is friendly and helpful, whether you are spending $10 or $100.

i love specialty dog stores but i do not love this one ... i have found the owner to be not so friendly on more than one occasion ... he was friendly to my friend who spent 500 dollars so maybe that is the key to his friendliness ... the only thing i have ever found in there to purchase is shampoo and it is the only reason i go back ... i have never bought doggy clothing there due to limited selection and high prices for what you are getting ... i bought a doggy tank on ebay for half the price that this store was charging for the same tank !!!
