I have to say the staff at this location are really great.
I randomly need to grab office supplies for our business here and I'm always pleasantly surprised with the quick, efficient and yes even cheery service I receive.
Generally when I end up here, it's after running out of something during a work day and however obscure it may be whoever you find in the place seems to know exactly where to find it.
I tied my small dog outside on one visit and the security guard even poked his head out to tell me to "bring that little guy in here, he's allowed" may seem simple but actually really appreciated him doing so.
Only took them down a star as the bathroom was pretty grubby. 5 Stars for the staff and selection though! :) -

Stellar service, great exchange policy and sweet in-store markdowns. Always worth a visit!

I can't five star a big box store. I hate almost everything they stand for. Massively impersonal, pushy commission hungry staff, full of made in China crap...
However, I have had great experiences at this store with their computer guy Ivan.
No BS, no pushing the bogus extended warranty plan, no up selling, just tell me what I need to get the job done and get me outta there stat. Perfect.
I trust staff when they'll honestly answer the question, "so, what type if computer do you have at home?, and would you sell this to your family?"
A month in... and my laptop is faster than a rogue satellite re-entering the earth's atmosphere.

When I'm in Staples I feel like a kid in a stationary store. Except I'm a big kid, in a stationary store that also has electronics, and furniture, copying services and a courier depot. And it's still possible to get that kid feeling as you walk the colourful aisles, perusing shelves that seem to rise a mile into the sky....
I've always had a good experience buying things here, for home or the office. They are quick to honour their exchange policy, should you need to, just keep your receipts. Helpful and non-pushy staff. -

I'm really pleased with the staff here. Everyone I've ever interacted with there is super friendly and enthusiastic. For its downtown location, which has been almost empty every time I've been there, it has a great selection of products - a rarity for most chain stores in an urban center. While I mostly shop for stationary, generic office supplies and
I came in here about a month ago to buy a desk. It was on sale from $170 to $100! I also never would have found it if it weren't for the friendly sales rep in furniture, I think his name was Kevin. I was looking at the more expensive ones and he showed me the one on sale. I wasn't sure if I wanted to get it, so I told him I'd think about it and come back the next day, which I did. When I showed up in the store, he remembered me and rang up my order personally really quickly with 2 years of insurance for free! I think he should be voted Employee of the Month. Plus, Staples always offers free delivery for desks! Their delivery service was great too, next day (it was in stock) and the guy brought it up to my door.
The only reason I've rated 4 stars is because I haven't really used all the services provided by the store, i.e. copy/print center, tech gear, business services etc. and so I don't think I can justify 5-star even though my experience there has merited them one. -

Do they really follow their perky and relieving "That Was Easy" slogan?
After this past week, I dunno. Renting a projector should be easy in theory. But in practice the whole process was pretty difficult: inflexible and rigid rules coupled with unexpressively unhappy expressions from the staff. :-|
Next time... I think I'll just take my chances with an independent rental place, which costs almost the exact same price.Listed in: Artful Vancouver

If you're looking for office furniture and a far wider selection of nick nacks than the Staples on Burrard (yeah, yeah, technically its address is W. Georgia), then head here.
If not, why bother going here as it's really only for those living/working in Yaletown. -

Had a nice random experience there the other day. The cashier mentioned that plastic bags cost money now (something I have no problem with at all). I'd mentioned that seemed like a new charge.
"No," she said, "it's been around for a while. When were you here last?"
"Oh probably nearly a year ago now," I said.
And she gave me 10% off my bill as a "Welcome back" gift.
Nice touch. -

I was soooooooooooo mad at Staples yesterday. The guy working at the copy centre was completely useless. I'm used to going to copy centres in the past, submitting something for print through the web, then going to pick it up immediately. I wanted to print 1 copy to see how it looked before ordering 20+ copies. He wanted to give me the 1 copy in 3 hours for express service (and make me pay $7) or wait until the end of the day. Seriously, all you have to do is press print. Let me see if its ok, then press print again to print 20 copies. I was not about to wait 8 hours to see the first printout before waiting another day to get the rest.
The store manager came by and 2 seconds later I had a printout. The margins were a little off, so I fixed it on my computer. Then I wanted to copy it over and print 1 more copy. The same rude man tells me I should go buy a USB stick in the store to transfer it over then since my other order was completed, I would have to pay for express service again to see printout again. AND I was informed that he had other customers much more important than me who order more than 1 copy.
Wow....I've never been so offended with customer service before.
So again, I got the store manager to come over and in less than 1 minute, all my copies were printed and I was ok and he thanked me for my business. (Hence 2 stars instead of 1)
During my time folding my printouts, the same rude guy turned away at least 5 more customers wanted something to be faxed, printed, scanned because it wouldn't be ready until the end of day. I'm sure he could just be having a bad day, but now I'm going to look for other places for my copy and printing needs. -

Why do I even bother with Staples?!
I tried to find a monitor stand today, which you would think would be located near the monitors... not so much. Apparently in the Staples world of merchandising you should have them as far away as possible from the monitors and tucked away, so if by some miracle you find yourself in the right area you would never actually see the product.
After spending ten minutes roaming all of the isles looking completely lost, I finally managed to find a sales associate. I think it is also a policy at Staples to have only one staff person on the floor, and that person should act like they don't see you while they pretend to be busy unpacking boxes of what I can only assume are Post-It notes.
Even the sales person had a hard time figuring out where the monitor stands were located, and when he finally did find them they only had one left at the low, low price of $60! Thanks, but no thanks. Looks like I'll be sticking with my Yellow Pages to prop up my monitor for the time being.
