Review from Gail P.
I am NEVER ashamed to do touristy stuff like this. Taking a carriage-ride through this beautiful Park is almost de rigueur to get a good idea just how lovely Stanley Park really is. I didn't want to take one of those claustrophobic bus tours when some friendly horses and fresh air were an option..
Since this is a Horse-Drawn Carriage, I would advice tour guests to dress warmly and be prepared for chilly weather. The ride does provide cozy blankets but there was a light drizzle happening when my son and I went on the tour. They may call Vancouver "The San Diego of Canada," but there wasn't much sunshine when we were there! Still, I was beside myself with the beauty of this Crown Jewel of Parks. There were so many recreational activities available and plenty of Vancouver-ites were making good use of the Park.. Joggers, hikers, bikers, boaters-Vancouver doesn't waste this space one bit!
The plants, trees, and flowers are a botanical delight and the greenery in this park was mind-blowing. The Carriage Tour Guide was very friendly (as most Canadians are) and very knowledgable about all the history and flora and fauna of Stanley Park. The guides are fonts of wisdom and very entertaining in their Park 'rap."
Particularly if you are visiting with kids, this is a great treat for them.
My son and I enjoyed feeding the horses treats after the tour.
I wish we had something like this in our San Diego's Balboa Park.
Our Horse Drawn Carriages just drive the drunks and tourists around the Gaslamp Quarter visiting bars and hotels along the way!
Do not miss this tour! After it, I could brag to my friend's back home that I went riding a horse in Stanley Park. Well-technically that's correct! -

Overall a nice way to see the park. We shelled out $33/adult for an hour tour. It was nice to have a guide give some context and history of the park. I would have otherwise walked past buildings and trees and not paid any attention to what they were. The only reason we took this tour is because it was highly recommended in the Frommer's book. I guess I was hoping for a bit more for the money, but it was a nice experience nevertheless. Also, it was probably around 33F when we took the tour, and we were freezing. They give you nice warm blankets, but the carriage is not enclosed, so make sure to dress warm if the weather is cold.

What do tourists do when they are visiting? They do "touristy" stuff.
I was a tourist visiting Vancouver. I went to see Stanley park. I was too lazy (read, tired after having a wild time the night before) to check out Stanley park on foot.
I have an excuse, I am a tourist. So, I took the tourist carriage. I would never do this stuff in my hometown. But here, nobody knows. See, I am like that.
I was given a great ride by Jack and Skipper(?). No, they are not the men that gave me a great "ride" last night, they are the horses pulling the carriage. A perfect way to see half of Stanley park if you do not want to walk. The guide was great, she gave us a detailed description of various historical aspects. I learnt a lot about Vancouver (do you see how I am using British English ... respect the Queen, bitches!)
A leisurely tour that lasts for a little more than an hour, and takes you around the main areas of Stanley park. Well worth being a tourist.Listed in: Vancouver - nature lover's…

In the words of my mother--in-law (who sat behind me during the tour) it was "delightful".
A great way to learn some of the history of Stanley Park - especially if there are people in your group who are not able to ride a bike or walk for long distances.
Be aware that the tour only covers a small portion of Stanley Park.
Overpriced for a 1 hour tour (IMO) but what isn't when you are a tourist? Eh - you only live once. Do it.
