Rest In Peace, my sweet St. Pats.
Thank you for being you.
Thank you for ordering me those cookies in the purple cellophane that were slathered with possibly carcinogenic chemicals to keep them fresh.
Thank you for selling little cactuses.
Thank you for the nice guy who used to run the place who, when i visited a few months before you closed, he remembered me and went to shake my hand, but i didn't realize he wanted to shake my hand and thought he wanted me to pay him for the cookies, so i reached out with a tenner and realized my mistake as our hands made contact and he began shaking my hand in spite of my mistake, and i felt like such a jackass but he was totally cool about it and didn't call me an asshole.
I will miss you St. Pats...until we meet again.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Review from Kat F.
If you're at the corner of Queen & John and need to buy anything quick or random, you'll find it either at St. Pat's or Gardenview. Gardenview tends to be more expensive but you wouldn't know that by general comparison because nothing in St. Pat's has a price tag on it - perhaps pricing is arbitrary or subject to change without notice?
My favourite things to buy at St. Pat's are flowers, Vitamin Water and custom sandwiches. The family that runs the store also mans the cafe counter, where they make BLTs, egg mcmuffins, bagels, grilled cheese sandwiches and the like. They'll make any configuration of sandwich for you as long as they have the ingredients (my favourite is fried egg, cream cheese and parmesan cheese on toast - don't knock it till you've tried it, and make sure you tell them Kat sent you. They'll know.).
They also have a good selection of magazines and chips and are one of the only places in the neighbourhood that sells Sobe Adrenaline Rush (an awesome alternative to Red Bull). -

Adding to the list of deceased Queen/John north side businesses, St. Pat's is now closed. *cry*

It's just your run of the mill corner store until you work at the CHUM building and then it's a life saver. They have a sandwich area, they make fresh coffee and they sell more than a few 25 cent candies in addition to the regular corner store fare. The two things I've always liked about this corner store is that they really cater to the people who frequent the spot. If you want a product they don't have and you come in every day before work, they'll just pick it up for ya. The second, is that they sell some pretty decent flowers. There is tons of selection of both potted and bouquets which are great to grab as a birthday present for a co-worker when you're on the go.
