I hummed, I hawed. Is it sacrilegious to write about a church? Is it a sin to write about a friend's special ceremony? But I couldn't contain myself! Other engaged couples need to know that this place exists! I've had the good fortune to attend two weddings at St Francis in the Wood and I have to say, if I was ever to go a traditional route down the aisle, this would be the place to do it!
It's been nestled in this little wooded cove since 1927 and while it looks like it's been renovated, the brightly coloured stained glass windows look like they come from a magical time. In the water below, little sailboats bounce up and down. Trees filter the bright sunshine and the very-very-very lucky people who live down this sparsely populated residential street have the opportunity to enjoy its splendor every day. Could it be more picture perfect?
It's tough to find, but a Yelp map or some tailored directions from a bride and groom will serve you well. And not to spoil the ending, but they ring the church bell after the "I Do's!"
