Review from John I.
Toronto, ON
A wonderful neighborhood restaurant with a long history of serving consistently good Italian-inspired cuisine. The modest decor is set with soft tones and warm lighting. The service is always top-notch and usually the meal is served on a timely basis. Although, this restaurant can get very busy and sometimes this impacts service delivery. I would also strongly encourage you to make a reservation, especially on a Thursday night.
Meals at Spuntino are generous and prepared using the freshest ingredients. Over the years, I have tried and enjoyed plates involving veal, chicken and of course their amazing pizzas. Each dish is delicately prepared and wonderfully presented. Their wine list is excellent both by the glass and bottle.
Of course I could not conclude this review without mentioning their world-famous bread rolls. The freshest and most delectable items and perhaps the very best bread service Winnipeg has to offer. This is a must, but don't fill up on these items before the wonderful main courses. Another hint is to try their scrumptious broccoli appetizer. A rich helping of broccoli with pine nuts and a refreshing dressing. This appetizer could be a meal in itself, so check with the server on whether or not you should split it before your enter the main course.
A very solid choice for Winnipeg dining.
