Like all vintage stores this place can be a bit hit and miss but really it's worth it just to go down and have a chat with the fellow who runs the place. Seriously great guy. I love the sale room and love love love it when there is some designer vintage in even if it's only to swoon over.

Great selection of shoes and accessories. Most accessories are locally made which just adds to this store's magic.

Ladies and Gents take note: Spree has sprung! On a recent bout of downtown shop stopping, this particular spot has taken me from indifferent to admiral.

Once again greeted by the sweet fellow at the counter, the shop has been reworked to have three rooms instead of four: ladies, mens, sale. Much more fluid, first up was the menswear which presented itself in much bounty. Vintage leather dress shoes , collared shirts, cardis, and a small dose of accessories proved for some great guy potential.

The sale room was a bit of a smorgasborg, but that is to be expected with thift shops. There were some real doosies, but some great eccentricity as well that could individualize the right outfit. Hmm.. I ponder.

The women's room was where my Spree impressions took a dramatic shift. Beautiful vintage purses, and racks of rarities included names from Oscar de la Renta and Christian Dior to Free People. A fantastic pair of Michael Kors clogs caught my eye, although in a size 10, my wee tooties would barely fill.

Lots of accessories place throughout as well. I was between a bag and a belt, but with a reasonable price tag of $20, this leather belt and its beautifully brass buckle won me over.

Great prices, and the possibility to find gems is here. It seems to be a spot to check often if you really want to find the goodies. I'll be back soon.

Tons of unique finds at this ritzy consignment store! In general, this shop carries more in the way of designer/chi chi second hand wares. Based on this, 'Spree' isn't your traditional consignment shop. Example: One of the current finds on sale is a red Armani long sleeve dress shirt for $38. Not as cheap as you might expect, but cheap considering the label!

I really enjoy how the owner's art is displayed all over the inside of this shop! Lots of great accessories too- the owner's great taste really shows through in this shop so be sure to stop by.

Who would think that Halifax had a store that offered cheap (albeit a little bit outdated) designer outfits in such variety! This is a store that operates under the belief that finding fashion treasures is the best part of the shopping experience. Not everything in Spee is a gem, because of the number of clothes that are used pay careful attention if you are concerned about the quality of the clothes you are buying.

I remember my excitement to find a pair of blue Christian LouBoutin shoes there that were slightly worn. Although their $120 price tag was still out of my budget, it is a steal compared to the regular sale price of over $500.

One awesome find I made was part of a knit wear collection of accessories called "Yarn Art" by Madeline Driscoll. The collection is mainly hats and scarves and I picked up a cheap ($12) white "rasta" style hat while I was in.

Hot Hint: Make sure you clear a large chunk of time away if you plan on coming to browse. The stock is constantly being turned over and there is always a lot of new (or used, depending on how you look at it) clothes coming onto the shelves.

    This place is 100% fun!

Spree is a unique store in downtown Halifax. They don't have new clothes but their used clothes are high-end used if you catch my drift. The store owner's are really nice and obviously love what they do. I find the place is 70% for women, 30% for men. And everything is fashionable for almost any type of fashion. I was able to get a really nice, retro style shirt while my buddy Kevin bought a Hoodie of his favorite football team! Meanwhile, in the women's section, our friend Ali found the most incredible, bombshell dress to wear. I don't know too many clothing stores where three people from three different types of fashion sense can all be pleased. But it happens at Spree!

An added bonus is their discount chest. I'd say bin but it literally is a chest with clothes they have for I believe $5 each! And that's where Kevin found his Hoodie.

Spree just does it right! They have good quality clothes, can make alterations on them needs be, are right downtown and have very friendly staff and owners. If you have some time on your hands and want to do some clothes shopping, put them on your list. If you only have about ten minutes and want to find something last minute, I wouldn't shy away from them either. This store is fairly knew but those who created it were obviously experienced enough to know how to run a successful clothing store. It shows in the funky store design, variety of clothes and great service.

I stopped in here for a quick look with a friend.  I am not a huge fan of these shops , but I don't mind have a boo once in a while.
Nothing really turned my crank here though.  A lot of mixed pieces, but the gentleman who runs the place is very nice.

I find all these stores are a hit and miss, maybe next time with be a hit.

Spree does not turn my crank. The shop is located in a lovely building, with a dear gentleman owner who is always chatty and helpful, but somehow the merchandise escapes my range of tastes every time I visit.

I want to love the consignment clothing available at Spree, but I'm always reminded of early 2000 fashion choices I made that I would rather not revisit just yet. The clothing is dated, and not in a fun and hip way. It just seems a little early to revive styles that haven't quite marinated long enough in the grave. I'm all for marching to the beat of your own fashion drum, but I am not down with most items available at this shop.

There are some fun locally designed accessories which I can get behind, and there is a great sale room with rotating pieces - often a fun peruse. However, I have never made a purchase on my multiple trips in and really haven't been tempted.

I do think you should go and take a gander - consignment browsing is always worth it because you never know what you'll find. In the end, I want more from you Spree. I don't want to feel like I'm at the mall and it's 2001, k?

Walking about in the downtown area I missed this place on my last run and decided to pop in. Walking up the narrow steep stairs I came into almost like a studio consignment shop. Greeted my this nice man who showed me around as to what was where.

Basically two room as well as the front when you walk in house a variety of used clothing. I actually seen a Burberry golf for my son but is was too small $50. Then I walked into the sale room where evertyhing was $5.00 bucks. WOW deals. There was a cool pair of Airwalks pink and black check for my niece who I even brought back but they were too small.

I would definitely go back just to keep checking as they said that they do get cloths in each day.

    I love this store.
Although it is hit and miss, they usually have a few gems. The first time I went I purchased a great vest ($22) and almost bought an adorable vintage long military jacket which unfortunately was wool, which I am allergic to ($85).
My friend on the other hand bought a dress ($30 ABS gown) and two amazing bags, one an adorable vintage dooney and Burke bag which they had on clearance from $80 to $40.

We were disappointed in their shoe selection but their mens wear was SPECTACULAR. They had fabulous designer dress shoes that looked like new for about $40, adorable sweaters and vests and even Michael Kors dress shirts. It is heaven for the well dressed man.
