THIS PLACE IS AWESOME. I literally thought we were at Nordstrom with the great service we received at Spokes. Our concierge referred us there with a coupon and I can say we will definitely go there again. We rented a tandem and a city bike to travel around Stanley Park and it was a blast. Upon arriving we were promptly greeted and from there a gentleman brought out our requested bikes. He gave us a quick demo of each bike and how to operate the tandem. When we got back they quickly checked the bikes back in and we paid. They were kindly willing to split the check for us which was great. If you have a free afternoon in Vancouver go explore the city by bicycle!

at $7 an hour, this is one of the cheapest bike rental places i saw. a 3hr rental gets you upgraded to 6hr for free. a 4hr rental gets you upgraded to all day for free. 3hr was plenty for us to see all of stanley park and more. huge selection, convenient location, friendly service.
we got the cheapest bike, which is a fixed-gear cruiser with NO HAND BRAKES. in other words, you have to pedal backwards to engage the brakes, like back in 2nd grade. this turned out to be much more annoying and dangerous than i thought - when i had to stop right away and didnt have time to think, i instinctively squeezed the handle bars. then when i was cruising along and wanted to adjust my feet to a more comfortable position, i instinctively backpedal. i definitely would not rent this type of bike again. also, the wheels are large and handle bars are wide, so i was pretty wobbly on it, even though i grew up riding bikes and i have very good balance. the next most expensive bike is $9 an hour. well worth it. -

Many bicycle rental prices can be shady at best. I know some in SF that are just downright awful.
This place isn't like thaty at all, maybe it's because it's in Vancouver?!
They are speedy at sorting everything out, no one wants to stand inside the shop when you could be outside enjoying the delights of Stanley Park.
The rates seems a little steep to me for a longer rental but it wasn't totally outrageous.
Bikes worked well and you get a helmet to protect your noggin in case you can't ride a bike for some reason.
I took it all the way round Stanley Park, past Sunset Beach, past the casino/stadium, science world, Granville Island, maritime museum and almost to UBC.
Then I realized I have to cycle back. That wasn't fun at all. Not even slightly!! There's sore and then there's saddle sore. Lesson learned.
Looking back - thoroughly enjoyed it. -

Fast, reliable, and affordable - a great way to see Stanley Park.
We were literally on our bikes and pedalling through Stanley Park within 5 minutes of entering their store, even while the front desk was congested with other customers. Rates are reasonable, they include a helmet, and they charge you by the quarter-hour after the first hour - which is good, as it shouldn't take you more than an hour and a half to pedal around the park at a leisurely rate, stopping frequently to galk and take pictures of whatever your heart desires.
The 7 speed cruisers were completely adequate for taking a ride on the Sea Wall, as you certainly won't need more than that. We probably could have made do with the 1 speed cruiser, but I personally enjoy the luxuries of having more than one speed available, and braking with a handlebar brake, rather than having to back pedal. -

If you a morning person and likes to go for a bike ride, specifically around Stanley Park, then Spokes is the spot to go.
We woke up quite early on a Saturday since we wanted to check out as many places in Vancouver as we possibly could. We wanted to go bike riding around Stanley Park since it really is quite an efficient way to see the park in one or two hours. It turned out that the only place that opens early is Spokes, while all the neighboring bike shops all had later business hours. Quite inconvenient but smart of Spokes.
We all rented the city hybrid bike which is probably not necessary for the park since there weren't much hills in Stanley Park but it was nice for the girls in our group to switch into an easier gear for riding. Also helps that the wheels are wider, especially on a raining day but on a sunny day, road bike will work just fine.
They also have many one-speed bikes. Those are actually harder to ride for me but if you're used to it (like beach cruisers), then why not since it's cheap.
Rates are pretty reasonable. Service was great and they were really friendly since we had to ask someone to constantly adjust the seats for one bike.
I just hate the helmet... :PListed in: a rainy weekend in vancouver

A-OK
Walked by this place looking for a bike rental and this placed seemed busy, efficient, and knowledgable. We were in and out so fast I couldn't believe it especially with all the people. The staff set our bikes up lickety split. They even gave us free upgrades because they were out of the regular bikes. The prices are a bit much. I would pay for the per hour if you just want to ride around the park vs. paying for the flat 3 hour rate. It took us about 90 minutes to go around and we took several little breaks to take pictures, joke, and have some laughs.
I haven't tried the others but this one was so close to the park and looked very professional. Thumbs up. -

Oh man, come to this place for your bike rental needs.
There's all different types--my boyfriend I both got cruisers, though he was jonesin' for a road bike. The cruisers turned out to be perfect. After signing up and filling out a form, we decided we wanted breakfast first. The guy helping us behind the counter suggested a place--Joe's Grill--which turned out to be a really nice breakfast. We walked up a few blocks to Joe's, stuffed ourselves, and walked back, ready to don our helmets and ride the 5.5 miles around Stanley Park. (We did try to check out the condom store across the street, but they were unfortunately closed.)
Spokes charges by the hour. We had the bikes out for just under 2 hours, which was enough time to ride leisurely along the path, stopping occasionally to take pictures or walk on the beach.
The prices are reasonable, and all the people working the counter were super helpful.Listed in: Le Vancouver, BC

This place was awesome in getting us hooked up and getting comfortable for a nice bike ride around Stanley Park. They gave me a cute pink cruiser bike!
Seats were adjusted for us and everything was comfortable. One of the best bike rentals I've ever encountered.
Sidenote: This shows how amazing Loden Hotel's concierge service was. We had made a reservation for their in house hotel bikes but they had some issues with it so the car service drove us here and had us rent from this place and give the hotel the receipt where the manager promptly reimbursed us!!! -

Sure you can drive around Stanley Park and I recommend you do.
However, this is the best way to truly experience the park - by bicycle after fueling up with a latte.
Conveniently located at the entrance to Stanley Park, Spokes Bicycle Rentals has been a local favorite and a tourist destination since 1938.
You can reserve your bike on line. Great bikes categorized by 1.) just crusin' 2.) city touring or 3,) park trails. You can rent by the hour, half day or full.
These aren't some old hand me down bikes, but new, cool and specialized for your chosen terrain.
Besides that if you don't get out of the car, you'll miss seeing the Hans Christian Anderson's Little Mermaid Statue in the water. Don't deny yourself the opportunity. Trade in the 4 wheels for 2. You have no idea what else you'll miss if you don't.Listed in: Red, White & You! C eh? N eh?…

Oh Vancouver. We pay out the effing nose (and perhaps more) to live here, and THIS is why. Cycling around Stanley Park is quite possibly one of the best ways to spend a Saturday in the Spring/Summertime that is possibly conceivable. On Earth. Oh yeah, it's that good. You've got the sun, you've got the gorgeous mountains and that sweet salty smell off the ocean, and if you catch the right time of day, you might be lucky enough to see one of the most incredible sunsets you will ever see in your life.
And the best way to do this, is to rent from these guys. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the prices were decent and they had a great selection of bikes...some higher speeds for the boyfriend, who is a far better cyclist than myself, and, for myself, one of those lovely little cruiser's that look as if they've come rolled right out of the sixties, with the wide bars and seats (good for bony bummed people like me.)
Also, these guys seem to have better hours and prices than a lot of the other ones nearby...I have never had a bad experience here and recommend this bike to everyone. Even if the last time you were on a bike was in the sixth grade, do it. You will not regret it!
The bike path itself is great, about 10K in length. If you feel like running it (and can) go for it, but if not, feel free to take a leisurly cycle.
Watch out for the following: Yummy mummy's decked out in lululemons with their designer baby strollers jogging at a determined and slightly alarming speed, hipster skater dudes who refuse to be confined to one side of the street on their longboards and the dreaded slow walkers. That's all.
Enjoy the ride! It doesn't get much more beautiful! -

We rented two one speed cruisers on a nice sunny Monday afternoon to ride the Sea Wall. The cruisers looked like the right choice. Not having riden a bike in 20 some odd years, it took some getting used to. Although the bike wasn't too comfortable, that was my fault. I should have chosen a different bike, as the handle bars on the cruiser were difficult to manuever.
Other than that, the service was great and the prices weren't bad at all. All together we paid about $28 for two bikes and two hours, including helmets. -
Review from Sarah J.
What a great service! Easy and quick transaction. In and out in no time. Rented a bike for 6 hrs - only $33... well worth it. Everyone in Stanley Park kept stopping me and asking me where they could rent a bike. Only slight complaint is that my chain grinded and sounded weird my whole ride, but it never came off so all was well.

Great location right on the corner!
Multiple options of bikes to rent and the people there are each pretty easy to approach.
Not the most organized place but a fun experience. -

We rented two bikes here to ride around Stanley Park. Service was great and bikes were very nice. They will even give you a basket and lock for your bike, incl in the price. Bikes were in great condition and pretty new. We were gone about 2.5 hrs and it cost $55. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because of the price. Go a few blocks into the city and you'll see you can rent for all day for $25 a person. Much cheaper than the hourly rate. But the location is very convenient and no complaints.

We didn't have a chance to rent on our most recent trip...but I love Spokes and its convenient location to Stanley Park with comfy cruisers, tandem, and foldables (my husband wanted to try a Dahon for the day and enjoyed it). Service is good and the bikes are in great condition...
As an added plus, they have child's seats as well. -

Definitely a must if you go into Stanley Park!!!

Perfect location and the prices weren't actually a rip off. We didn't need the bike for the full day so we just rented it for an hour or two and drove around the sea wall at Stanley park (a sea otter ran in front of my bike, so cute! ). Many options of bikes and they provide a helmet and locks.

I kind of thought seeing all of those identical bikes lined up on the side walk and Spokes employees dressed so uniformly in front of the store, that this place would be a tourist's nightmare/rip-off. Totally wasn't. I spent like, $12 for an hour and a half with a fixed gear bike (basket included!), helmet, and lock. It was adorable. This place is right across from Stanley Park so I insist if you visit the park, you must stop here first and rent a bike to ride along the sea wall on a beautiful afternoon!

Stanley Park is gorgeous. And walking the seawall is a lot of fun, but I'm
always envious of the bike riders. So last weekend, I went to Spokes to rent a bike. Spokes is right across from the entrance to Stanley Park on Georgia St. I was unsure what kind of bike to get- but the setup of the store was extremely helpful. There were samples of the bikes around the counter, and a helpful brochure to compare the bikes and pricing.
The guy at the counter was extremely helpful and let us know that typically riding around the park takes about an hour. So with a cruiser and a helmet, we were off to ride. The staff helped to adjust the seat settings for a smooth ride. It was a beautiful sunny day, but the wind was a little cool on my hands. The cruiser was extremely easy to ride. And at a leisurely rate, we were back at Spokes in just under an hour. Check out was quick and easy. At time of rental they ask for an ID and they imprint a credit card, but you're not charged until you get back. -
Review from Melissa M.
Not cheap (maybe cheaper options), but local bike route/stanley park map, helmet, lock, bike all supplied and worked well. It took us almost 5 hours to ride and site-see around seawall at Stanley Park and then Granville Island. Street parking nearby is tough so take public transit or walk there if you can, or be prepared to pay up to $13 for 1-day in the pay lot kiddy-corner to Spokes.

Located right on Georgia, they offer very reasonably priced rentals for people of all sizees and biking-skill-level. My husband and I both got cruisers, and our ride through Stanley Park was truly memorable.

Spokes is a great place for bike rentals. It is located at the start of the sea wall trail, and it is convenient to return the bike after the ride. Their prize is reasonable, in additions, lock and helmets are included in the rental. They have sweet service, efficient staffs. All these contribute to a delightful ride.

My rental bike went on well. Except for the lock. Don't take a lock, it is not enough tighten with the frame. Mine fell during the ride. Otherwise, I just rented a city bike and it worked properly. Probably, I will rent again but without a lock. 10 dollars for one hour, I think it's a little bit high for just one hour.
