I admire their business concept of bringing handmade products directly from villagers in Thailand to help them sustain their life. Most of the products are made of reused wood from houses or farm equipments.
The store is very well-arranged with plenty of beautiful handmade products. I would recommend anyone to visit them to feel the atmosphere of Thai village which is hardly find in this modern world. -

This place is my saving grace when it comes to comes to buying gifts for impossible people as well as weddings.
Spirithouse offers a gorgeous selection of Thai import goods. From percussion instruments to clothes and the usual salad servers, there is a lot here to choose from. We bought a mango wood vase as a wedding present here, although I was disappointed that we didn't find out until after paying that you can't actually put water in it. We've also bought a pretty, well-made teak frame as a last-minute wedding gift.
But it's the spirithouses here--the store's namesakes--that steal the show. These finely carved and delicately assembled minature houses are actually quite hardy against the weather, I'm told.
A great spot to browse for someone else, or yourself. -

Located right next to Dharma Kitchen, Spirithouse follows the same style tangent as their neighbours. Spirithouse advertises itself as dealing in "Thai product trade", meaning that all merchandise is sourced in Thailand and surrounding countries. They make a concerted effort to buy directly from artisans. Most of the products are made by families who still practice traditional arts and crafts. According to their website, the idea of opening a store with strict fair trade policies spawned from a visit to Cambodia, where despite all the abject poverty, giving money directly to the disadvantaged is discourage as it often propagates the problem. There are a number of organizations in place that teaches those in need to be more self-sufficient by helping them develop valuable skills.
The shop itself is beautiful. It's filled with quirky little knick-knacks, hand-carved teak furniture, and unusual hand-painted ceramics. The sales staff is very friendly and will gladly share any knowledge they have. In a country where consumer culture is the dominant culture, it's heartening to see more socially conscious retailers. -

Spirithouse has a beautiful array of items procured in Southeast Asia. Of note are the gorgeous spirit houses and the lovely pieces of furniture made from reclaimed teak. Spirithouse also carries textiles, clothes, purses, and jewelery.
We were informed that the table we were admiring was made from reclaimed teak from an old ox cart. The table is made from the wheel and the chairs are from the yoke. We were invited to sit in the chairs, but despite being friendly and informative, the sales people were never pushy. Quite a pleasant shopping experience!
