It's hard to ask for more than an enthusiastic hello and a smile upon walking in, but Spargo goes that extra step and offers wine, water or beer! What a great way to start a haircut in The City! It kind of reminded me of Bronson Pinchot's character (Serge) in Beverley Hills Cop with his offering espresso.
I just went for a haircut (zero sides fading into a flat top) and Melissa had no problems whatsoever making it perfect! She shampooed my hair during AND after the cut to get rid off all the pesky hairs that traditionally plague those of us obtaining short (aka neat) haircuts. She's a whiz with clippers or scissors. Engaging, cute, funny and skilled are how I would describe her.
The men's changing room (with amenities) and separate bathroom was a pretty tidy set up. A very neat work space with a view of the drones walking around on the street made this a terrific location to get my hair cut. I'm sold! -

I've been going to Spargo for almost 2 years now and I can't say enough good things about this place. The entire staff is extremely warm and friendly and I love that I can schedule appointments online. The location is perfect, too, allowing me to slip in for a haircut during the work day since it's in the Embarcadero Center.
But I have to give special kudos to my stylist, Neomi, who is a genius with the scissors. Not only is Noemi talented but she's professional. She takes the time to provide a precision cut that always makes me feel like a million bucks. I totally recommend her as your next stylist.Comment from Cynthia B. of Spargo - A Place For Men 12/9/2011

Been coming here for years and I have had and love all the services here. The atmosphere here is really nice and relaxing. If you get a pedicure you can watch some espn and have some beer or wine. The people are friendly and not pretentious like other salons. I go to Athena twice a month and she is the best estitition I have ever had!

I recently moved to San Francisco from L.A. and have had the hardest time finding a good place to get a hair cut. That is until a co-worker recommended Spargo. From the minute i made the appointment to the time I stepped out of the chair it was all an amazing experience. I sipped Chardonnay as a sweet girl named Allie gave me, hands down, the best hair cuts I have had in years! If your looking for a stylish cut and a comfortable atmosphere then look no further, Spargo is the place for you.

I just called Spargo to set up an appointment and was told they no longer offer massage. This was disappointing as their therapist, Laura, was very, very good. They would not offer a referral.
I have back problems. Spargo was the only place I knew of near where I live which offered massage and pedicure (a necessity for me these days). Overall followup on appointments was uneven (they forgot me more than a few times), but the actual service was good enough to come back. Until now. Now I'm up a creek while Spargo's management wants to figure out what they want to do with their lives. Thanks a frigging lot, ladies.Comment from Cynthia B. of Spargo - A Place For Men 10/3/2011

This is a review for my first visit to Spargo. Overall I would say it's an okay joint. I'm not completely sold.
The haircut came out pretty well. The consultation was helpful. Perhaps they are no longer doing the head/scalp massage and the free neck waxing for first time clients. It was never offered. I did get a hot towel on my face which was pleasant and a rushed manicure. I got the feeling they are burning/churning clients because as soon as my stylist was done he was off to start another client.
I dunno ... I feel that for the price I could have gotten just as good of a cut at Super Cuts (gasp) and still had cash left over for a manicure and a pedicure at a decent nail spot my wife likes to visit.
The staff friendly, the location is choice and it was an overall okay experience. I'm just not sold. The lack of the head/scalp and neck waxing bit was sort of a downer in addition to the rushed feel near the end.
I might give it a shot again but unlikely.Comment from Cynthia B. of Spargo - A Place For Men 11/1/2011

I'm a Spargo's client since almost 2 years, spending my money on haircuts, pedicures, manicures, wax, massage sometimes, buying their products etc. And I'm really disappointing, because honestly, they have 0 care to their loyal customer.
First of all, you never get like a free pedi or free product when you pay for $150.00 services, or at least if you don't ask for a discount.
Bad experience started when my favorite stylist Lyla left few months ago, thenI requested another appointment it was never the good day, the good time, last one was 2 weeks ago, they call you on friday night to cancel saturday morning because someone was sick without any discount for your next appointment, can you believe it?
This is so bad, because this is a place for men, where you can hang out with a glass of wine, the concept is terrific, but as there are no competitors in the same market around, they just don't care of you and it sucks.Comment from Cynthia B. of Spargo - A Place For Men 1/30/2012

Great haircut, great conversation. The manicurist wasn't in when I went, but they said I could return for that. No problem.
I don't recall whom my stylist was, but she was talented and interesting, which is saying a lot, given how anti-talk I am at these things. -

Before Spargo, I frequented a place where they really only asked what your number was: as in which size "guard" to use on the clippers. This went along fine until one instance in which I left the place looking like I had just enlisted. It was at this time that I decided to find a place that might actually ask you what you want your hair to look like, as opposed to just selecting a numeral and hoping for the best.
I was a little wary of going to a men-only salon, envisioning that it would be Hooters-ish and that I would have to carry on a conversation about the infield fly rule for 30 minutes with some dude in the waiting area. Not so. Just a clean, well-lit place where they specialize in men's hair. That simple.
I met Priscilla about a year ago or so, and when I told her that I was open to trying something new with my tresses, she gave me a different style than what I had been wearing previously, and a great haircut. I loved it. People around me complimented me on it. I discovered what I had been missing. Other stylists have been just as gifted. I haven't gone anywhere else since.
They ask if you would like wine at the beginning of your appointment. I generally come during the workday, so it's not really an option. But one day. One day I'll take them up on it. -

Just visited for the first time and had a haircut and manicure. (My first manicure, fyi) Allie was fantastic. She listened to what I wanted done with my hair and then executed perfectly. I hate the standard old "business" hair cut. She did a great job creating something that looks totally respectable while not looking like I'm a stuffed shirt wearing a pin-striped suit. The manicure was fantastic.

Review from Bill B.
First time for a fancy haircut place for me. I'd previously upgraded from Supercuts to a real barber, but today I splurged to upgrade again. The shampoo, scalp massage, hot face towel, and other accouterments were wonderful, and the cut itself was also good. I can't recall the last time my hair looked and responded this nicely. Special note to bearded gents - I was pleasantly surprised to find that, unlike most places, there was no surcharge for a beard trim!
I also had my first manicure and pedicure in preparation for vacation. Overall, I found the manicure to be overrated, though I cannot say whether that has to do with manicures in general or this particular execution - it seemed well done, I just wasn't wowed by the result. The pedicure, however, (by the same woman) was a luxurious treat. Of course, the complimentary glass of wine while it was being done sure didn't hurt!
Staff were friendly, helpful, and attractive - it was a little surprising that the only men I saw during my entire visit were clients. (Maybe it was just a matter of which staff were on-duty at the time?) Not a complaint, just an observation.
Until and unless my salary doubles, I can't afford to come here regularly, but it makes a nice splurge or an indulgent gift! -

Spargo is lean, mean, luxury hair cutting machine. Like any machine, it needs a user manual. Here you go.
- What/Prices
Hair cut with shampoo, head & neck massage, $45+tip
Manicure+haircut package: $55
Other services see http://www.spargoman.c... for a complete list
- The Staff
All well trained, all women. If you are hoping for more than what's on the services menu you're in for a disappointment... these are stylists, not Mitchel Brothers dancers. I've had the best luck with Morgan. Great haircuts, and with a smart and edgy personalty probably much like many Yelpers'.
- Results
Maybe because these are stylists and not barbers I've noticed that my haircuts from Spargo tend to look best right after I get out of the chair, not 3-5 days latter as is the case with my barber. They also tend to last less long. Quality has been uniformly good.
- Time
The place is a very well oiled machine. You are expected to be there the moment your appointment starts, and you will be there for pretty much exactly 45 minutes. If you are late once you are denied bathroom privileges and the massage, twice and they ask for your CC at time of appointment. Kidding about the bathroom privileges. I think.
- Location
Convenient if you work or live near Embarcadero One, otherwise expect limited and/or expensive parking. Note: There is some convenient motorcycle parking on Sacramento street.
- Summary
I went maybe five times and stopped. Nothing wrong with it at all, but between location and a total cost effectively triple that of my regular barber http://www.yelp.com/bi... it just didn't seem worth it. However, I had some great haircuts there and could see going back. I'd suggest anyone who is even somewhat interested give it a shot and see if its worth it to them -

I used to get my hair cut at Supercuts. Not anymore I don't.
For $45, you get a great haircut from someone who actually listens to your requests, a shampoo, a head massage, and a glass of wine. I came in three days before a wedding and said I needed my hair cut, but not so much that I looked like a newly shorn sheep, because I didn't want Bridezilla to kill me. Lucia was great and gave me a perfect haircut, and she was really nice on top of it all. I'd definitely ask for her.
The trains definitely run on time here...it's a well-oiled machine...you show up on time and they get you out of there on time, quite unlike most hairdressers. This is probably attributable to the hottie manager, Laura.
So yes it's more expensive than Supercuts but you get what you pay for. And yes, I got a frigging manicure (it was complimentary, dammit). I learned what a cuticle was. I had a lot of them, apparently. -

I have very basic man hair. So for 45 bucks plus a respectable tip, I wouldn't expect a happy ending, but at least give me the advertised head massage. No dice.
I love it, their motto is "a place for men", yet, all the TV's are fuzzy and its run by women! More like: "a place where men can sorta feel less metro....sorta" -
Review from Sir Paul L.
Nassau County, NY
Went here off of Yelp reviews. I was expecting a a place for men, since it says "A Place for Men"...but all they did differently was to have a TV with the Monday night football game in the lobby (with no sound and it was fuzzy). Then the 2nd thing was to ask if I wanted a glass of wine...or water! No thanks, wine if for prissy women! haha ok, maybe not...but damn...I just wanted to watch the game. So they call you in to get a haircut and int hat room, there is no TV near me, just one way off with ( get this) a episode of Friends playing!!
This is a place run by women, who have no idea how to make it "A place for men".
The haircut? Pretty nice...worth $45? Maybe, maybe not...but to go out of my way to get there just didn't make sense. There was no indication of anything outside a normal salon here...it was if it was a "place for women" the day before, and that didn't work out, so they took out the W and O and changed the channel from Oprah to football. -

Sonja is awesome. I've been to a number of massage therapists in the bay area, and she's easily my favorite. I originally visited her because my back was in absolute knots, and because I had been to Spargo for other treatments previously and really liked the environment and staff - She is now my personal savior - she really has great hands; she finds all the right spots and is able to provide any amount of pressure you need from a subtle, relaxing touch, to pinpointing intense deep tissue pressure.
She's super friendly and courteous, always right on time, listens to your needs, makes you feel relaxed and welcome every time.
Thanks Sonja! -
Review from Joe U.
Spargo was a place that I was really forward to checking out given the reviews and the pictures; it looked a place that I had finally graduated to in life. When you enter, you're still really impressed with the service and the option of having a glass of wine while you wait. Don't get me wrong, the place is great and the head massage while they wash your hair really helps you unwind.
I was unimpressed with my stylist and her lack of social skills, and quite frankly, a really mediocre cut. I could've gone to to Great Clips and received the same cut for far less money. I would not go here again, and especially after tip, you're better off going to a cheap spot and using the extra $40 on dinner or drinks.Comment from Cynthia B. of Spargo - A Place For Men 9/3/2009

Of course this place is "expensive" to the guys wanting to watch the game while they wait for their haircut, but $45 is really not bad for a haircut in the city. I am used to spending double this for a cut. I had my hair cut by Priscilla, she was friendly and made sure she shaped things up how I wanted. If you're expecting to have a bunch of bimbos feeding you beer while you watch Monday Night Football, you may want to find some realistic prerequisites for a Men's salon.
Atmosphere: Lightly decorated, deep red walls, no scent of nail polish, soundtrack: Nickelback, Nickelback, Nickelback, I don't know bad music sounds the same to me
Crowd: Twenties through forties men, mainly FiDi types
Perks: Wine or water when you arrive, coat racks and optional robes if you need, head massage, warm towel for your face while you get shampooed
Forget: Any fantasies of Hooters in a salon form. A "place for men" doesn't mean a place for macho cavemen.
Cost: $45 for cut, head massage, shampoo and style -

I aimed to treat myself to a spectacular 5* quality hair experience and look, thus a perfect setup for a disappointment. On their website, they claim that there are lot of 1st time incentives (like a 15 minutes massage) so I was anticipating a good 1st experience - especially for $60.
I set a Saturday appointment and arrived at 10am to see that they haven't even opened yet. It took them ~20 minutes to get their staff in order and finally Lena said she was assigned to me. She took me on a tour of the facility and got straight to washing and cutting. She made frail attempts to make some conversation, mostly initiated by me, which was frustrating. On the dot of 11, she stopped and showed me my 'style'. It barely looked like she did anything. I didn't receive any of the accommodations they claim for 1st timers either. I walked out of that painful experience simply to find that I also had to pay for parking.
I'm perplexed how so many yelpers praise this to no end. For such a price, I could at least expect a decent conversation and a semi-styled hair cut. Instead I left with an expensive bill and went back to my $20 stylist to get it fixed. I'd rather go to Supercuts than here.

I've been going to Spargo since the placed opened. I got a little nervous when my first stylist moved on but everytime I get a great haircut. Cody is great and does an excellent job every time.
BTW he was 30 minutes late once but the manager comp'd me a free pedicure and chair massage while I waited. Smart people. -

So $45 for a haircut initially turned me away from this place but after sucking it up and deciding to fork over the dough I was stoked I did.
Its clean, well appointed, and the flat screen was set to espn. I told the stylist (her name was Lainey) to do whatever she felt like when cutting my hair and it turned out great. The scalp massage feels pretty awesome too.
I'd say suck it up and give this place a try if you want a haircut that's going to look really good and be cut by someone who knows what they're doing. -

Lyla cut my hair a few weeks back -- she's rad. I decided to go to this place after reading multiple reviews on Yelp...and I'm glad I did.
In addition to finally finding a worthwhile stylist (Lyla) for my beautiful norwegian mane, I had some quiet lady give me my first "mani" ever. While it scared me at first (I pondered tasing her), she eventually was able to hold me down and force some much needed cuticle care.
Thumbs up to Spargo. Lyla was thoughtful, skilled, and gave great advice. I will definitely go back. -

Spargo, like MR. and other places offering men's grooming services (other than a traditional hair cut and shave) have really taken off in San Francisco and it's no secret why. To avoid commoditization these facilities offer sports TV, music, cocktails or wine, upscale surroundings. These additions can also justify the higher prices they charge. It's a valid tradeoff given the success of these places and I suspect they'll continue to thrive in the current economic conditions.
I go to both Spargo and MR (recently reviewed) but use them for different services. I use Spargo for manicure and facials and on both counts they do a great job. After using Spargo for my nails I tried 3 or 4 other places in town but came back to Spargo. The prices are reasonable ($20 for a half hour manicure) and the quality is the best of all places I've tried. The facial went for about an hour and I came out a new man. I've rarely had difficulty getting an appointment on a Saturday afternoon (my fave day for this stuff) and the staff is friendly. I've yet to get a haircut here but in a pinch I wouldn't hesitate giving them a shot. -

APFM is by far the best haircut/experience I have had. (Granted my prior cuts came at wholesale rates at the hands of the trained professionals at SuperCuts...)
Regardless, this place knows how to treat a guy. Between the friendly and helpful (and attractive) girls at the front desk and the talented stylists, I fear SuperCuts has seen the last of me. I got more compliments on my hair than ever before.

I really wanted this place to be great, because it is so close to my work. I gave them two chances, but sad to report, it was a waste of my time.
1. My first visit: I called about a week before, just to make sure I could get in before an important date. I was relieved when the owner told me I could get an appointment that same week. The day rolls around, and I show up for my appointment on time. I tell my name to the girl at the counter, and she looks at me dumbfounded. Then she proceeds to tell me they can't cut my hair right then because the owner forgot to put my appointment into the computer, and some other dude took the spot later on! WTF??? So, I leave completely pissed.
2. I gave them one more try, and this time they got me into the books correctly. But the girl who cut my hair, instead of paying attention to me, was talking to her co-worker at the chair next to us the ENTIRE time.
Bottom line, this place lacks any sort of adequate customer service. -

I found this place online and I needed a good afternoon away from the office to relax, get a massage, & other grooming items. I booked online and waited for a return call. No one called me back. Since I like to be orgainzed and my schedule fills up quicking, I've called and they stated they never recieved my request.
I ask for a massage, manicure & pedicure (1st time). they stated that they would call me to remind me...no call or reminders...
I was looking forward to this and it was my first time to Indulge myself. The person who did my hands and feet were great. Then I was excited about my massage to find out...they did not book a massage.
They stated that I could wait for 25 minutes and then get my massage. Didn't see the benefit of waiting if I booked an appointment.
So, they didn't have my appointment down, they didn't remind me of the appointment, the didn't book a service I was looking forward too.
The lady stated she would "comp" me my manicure, but it states your 1st one is free, so I don't see how I was comp.
Bottom line - to leave the Oakland Hills to S.F. Embacadero paying for high parking and not getting what you ask for...very disappointing. I feel bad because the lady that did my hands and feet were great.
I'll stick to my local babershops! !Comment from Cynthia B. of Spargo - A Place For Men 8/11/2010

Spargo is great and Samara gets top billing. I've been going there for nearly three-years. I go every three weeks for a cut. Samara is always on time, polite, professional. She always brings her "A-game" to work.
The atmosphere is comfortable to calm and the price is worth it. Try it out and ask for Samara. -

This is a great place to get a haircut, a manicure, massage, and catch the game. Plain and simple. Every time I have been I have gotten a great haircut (that I get tons of compliments about), the price is right, and the staff is amazing. Everyone is great at what they do and they really want you to feel comfortable and well tended to while you are there. Kick back and relax in the leather arm chairs while you wait and watch sports on the plasmas. Get a 15 minute back rub or saddle up to the table for the real deal. Amazing facility, love going here, and my stylist Lainey is as good as they come. She gives a great hair cut and is a great conversation. I had such a fun conversation with her today I forgot I was getting my haircut.
There is no validation for parking in the garage but its only $3. -

So I'm a newbie to San Francisco. I've been out here for about 4 months now, a transfer from Texas. Love the place out here, but my only problem ....no where to get a hair cut. I went to Spargo, at the advice of yelp, and man was it great.
Cool place, good people. Jessie cut my hair. She was awesome, had a fun time talking with her. So if you're up for a cool place, and don't mind paying 45 for a hair cut, check out Spargo. Its worth it, if you're not a supercuts kid. If you are, well 45 and the atmosphere will be a little too much for you. -

I do love going here. So much so that I don't mind making it down on a Saturday. I'd recommend Samara or Morgan for a hair cut, they're both really professional and great to talk to. I've had a few mani/pedi combos there as well, but if you're in a rush they'll do a mani while you get your hair cut. Fantastic concept, and you can feel very comfortable there walking around in just a robe. The staff really makes you feel at home and I am now and will forever be a regular patron. -

I've been going to Spargo now for the past 3 months and cannot complain. As you walk in the door, you are faced with flat screen tv's, leather chairs and a welcoming receptionist. In each of my experiences, they have always offered me a drink and a place to hang my coat.
For $45, which is not unreasonable by any means, you get a shampoo and wash, a tailored cut, another wash with a hot towel for your face and a styling. If you are looking for a great cut, make a visit to Spargo, you won't regret it! -

Let me start this by mentioning that I had never, ever dropped more than $18 on a haircut in my life. So I gotta know something's gonna be really good to triple my spending.
I've been going to Spargo religiously for about a year, since I started working in the FiDi again. Priscilla is my girl, and she does great work. I've been more than happy with the results every time, and the consistency, if anything, is worth the extra spend.
But the rest of the experience is worthwhile, too. You get a shampoo, a little scalp massage, and a hot towel on the face. You even get a locker and a robe, so your shirt won't get shaggy. I did the manicure once, too, and I didn't regret it.
The whole thing takes 45 minutes, so you can easily get shorn during your lunch hour, or whenever you can sneak away from work.
Yes, they have ESPN on the TV. But who cares? It's about the work, and they do it spectacularly.
I'm sure lots of the stylists perform well, but ask for Priscilla. She knows what she's doing. -

I've struggled since moving here to find a quality, reliable place to get a haircut in the financial district.
Spargo has proven to be an oasis among a veritable wasteland of barbers shopts and haircut salons where you typically walk in not knowing what you are going to get.
I don't worry here about suddenly losing my sideburns or getting my hair whacked off down to the skull. They have a good sense of style, they listen and they make sure you are happy.
My only wish is that I had found it sooner. -

I've been going here for the last 2 years. I needed to get spruced up for my fiancee's work party and I was in the city that evening. My stylist is Lucia, who is extremely sweet and knows my hair. Plus, the times she's cut my hair, my fiancee has loved it, so if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
What I like:
-very relaxed atmosphere; yes, it's a hair salon, but still a guy's atmosphere with CNN & ESPN on the tube.
-was offered bottled water or wine and a robe to wear
-I got the haircut(clippers on back, scissors everywhere else), shampoo, style, rinse, gel; loved the hot towel on the face; very reminiscent of the pre-boarding I experience at Singapore Airlines!
-for the extra fru-fru, they offer manicures, massages, even waxing!
Why no fifth star:
-can be pricey, $45-50 for a haircut. Price to pay for good hair, but I can understand if others think it's too much
-parking is a pain!!! plain and simple, walk or take BART, just off of the Embarcadero station.
-kinda like Taylor B's review, if you're expecting a harem of women to cater to your every sensual fantasy/desire while you're in the chair, this ain't the place.
There's been that eternal question of what's the best "guy's haircut" place that's not a barbershop. Spargo ranks up there. You can get a great cut and meet your date or girl that nite in the city. If you need a great cut or do and are in the city, try this place out!Comment from Cynthia B. of Spargo - A Place For Men 1/8/2010

Nearly three years after my first review of Spargo, I still recommend this place as the place for someone to get a haircut in SF. I've been to three different stylists since I started coming here (one regularly (Samara, who is an excellent stylist) and others when she isn't there (Priscilla, most recently, also great)). Everyone's superfriendly, the atmosphere is great (good music and ESPN on the TV) and most importantly, I have ALWAYS received a great haircut.
My only criticism is that I wish they could validate Embarcadero Center parking.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I used Spargo for about a year and left for MR when my stylist left. After my time at MR. I returned to Spargo, and I am very glad that I did. My stylist is always on-time, which is a key factor when you are trying to jam a haircut into the middle of a work day.
They give you robes to change into, which helps keep the loose hairs from finding their way onto your shirt. This really helps you avoid getting itchy when you have to go back to work. The complimentary wine or bottled water is a nice touch and appreciated. One of the best places to get a haircut. -

Are men supposed to pampered like this?
Because this experience was awesome. I've had my share of bad haircuts from some franchise places so I wanted to get a great cut in the city for a wedding I was going to. This was my first time I ever been to what I call, a "Man Salon", and this place blew my mind. What I mean by "Man Salon" they not only do haircuts but they do manicures, pedicures, massages, facials, Brazilian waxing, etc (go to their website for more info). So let me break this down by category.
The Place:
Spargo is located in One Embarcadero Center and is pretty easy to find. From the street level you just go up one floor from the escalator. The establishment is pretty clean. In the waiting area they have nice comfy leather chairs for you to sit and lounge in before you get your services. If I can recall they also have a flat screen T.V. that you can watch while waiting. Walking into the areas of service through a short hallway, you can find the haircut chairs to the left, hair washing sinks and pedicure stations to your right, and massage/waxing rooms straight ahead. You think with all that stuff and being in San Francisco it would be cramp but it's pretty spacious. I could literally break dance on the floor since it was that spacious. Almost forgot, there was a flat screen in here too, we love our sports. All in all, the vibe was very nice and relaxing coming in.
The Customer Service:
My God, their customer service was TOP KNOTCH. I came in and was welcomed by a friendly receptionist. She took my blazer and my bag and hung it in the closet while I waited for my appointment. She then came back and asked if I wanted a glass of wine, never missing a chance for alcohol, I agreed. Just by that experience alone you feel at home and with them serving you that wine..boy...I felt like a million bucks. I didn't wait very long and I met my very friendly hairstylist (I'm really bad with names sorry). She was a petit lady with glasses and great smile. She gave a nice introduction to the place and gave me a tour of the salon.
Overall Excellent Customer Service!!!
The Cut:
The cut was awesome. Before hand she consulted with me and asked about my lifestyle and what i generally do to fix up my hair. She told me she had cut hair for more than 20 years so I felt I was in good hands. We agreed on a haircut and she started cutting. The hairstylist was very nice and had a warm personality. Since it was my first time getting a haircut from them, I got a free manicure. Never had one in my life but since it was free why not. The lady doing my nails was pretty cute too so I definitely didn't object. If your reading this fellas, get a manicure at least once in your lifetime. Man, after she cut and shaped my nails, she massages your hands. Pretty relaxing. The haircut was finished and I couldn't be any more happier.
Conclusion:
Pretty pricey for what guys usually pay for but it's worth it. If you want a place were you can just chill and relax then come to Spargo.

Spargo is pretty decent. I've been going for over a year and finally have a stylist that "knows" my hair. Lila is great and not pretentous, can't say enough good things about her.
The salon is a comfortable place for guys without being over the top macho. Everyone is friendly and the place is uber clean. They always offer you water (cold or room temp) and offer to hang your coat. For me, the little courtesies offer more value tthan the grandiose impersonal fake perks. -

Spargo is a solid place for a haircut. When they cut your hair they pay attention to the details. You can take off your shirt for a robe, so you don't get hair or water on it. Although, they never use the clippers, which I found strange, since I had been getting solid cuts and picking up chicks when I lived in Philly with clipper cuts. Regardless this classy, they offer you water or wine when you walk in and service is always prompt.
It is definitely on the pricey side of the cut, but overall if you are willing to drop a Jackson on a haircut then it is definitely worth checking out.
