I heart the girls and the shoes of Spank Shoes on the Drive.
Although the selection is small, the shoes are always stylish with a range that covers affordable thru to dreamy. But it's the customer service at Spank that puts them out ahead of many, many other stores in Vancouver.
Especially Miss Victoria. Knowing how much I coveted the black knee high boots, she called the Kits store to see if they had my size (without a request from me) and then called me within 10mins of walking out of the store to let me know:
a) Kits had my size
b) did I want her to have them sent over?
The final decision to buy the boots was cinched when she told me they offered Layaway - i *heart* layaway.
Thanks Victoria and Thank You Spank Shoes, you've yet again helped keep my boot fetish alive and financially in-check. -

This has got to be one of the best shoe stores in the city. The selection is great, and the designs are inspired. I can't count how many pairs of shoes I've picked up in this store saying, "oh I LOVE these." I bought a pair of Victorian-inspired boots here a few years ago, and I still have strangers on the street stop me to compliment me on my shoes.
As far as prices go, it's not cheap, but it's not bad either. Think John Fluevog style, but much more affordable. -

This place has really unique shoes (for ladies only) and a great staff that isn't pushy! The shoes that are not on sale are in the $100 - $300 ish range.
I couldn't believe how comfortable all the shoes were. I was told they specifically choose designers who are comfortable and different. I don't mind spending a fair amount of money on a pair of shoes if they fit well and I feel like I'm not being forced to fit some one's triangle toed idea of a woman's foot.
That said, the selection is great, all funky and some retro shoes. -

Newly opened on Commercial (there's another location on 4th, in Kitsilano), Spank Shoes carries an original and funky selection of shoes and boots that range from groovy to adorable. It's hard not to go in and realize just how many pairs of shoes you'd like or maybe even need to have. Some of their selection is a bit pricey, but they do tend to carry lines that are more artistic than the average shoe: lots of cool details decorate the shoes and boots in this shop, think unusually shaped heels, buckles and buttons. And the staff is friendly, too.
