Dare I say it? Yes, I do dare! I think Spank Shoes is an even greater store (and shopping experience) than its sister in crime, Spank Clothing!
Located across the street and down the block (toward Burrard) from Spank Clothing, this funky little shoe shop carries some seriously stylish treads for your tootsies.
The first thing you'll likely notice about this booties boutique is the window display, which currently features this awesome old-school bicycle/art piece, mannequins dolled up in Spank clothing, and, of course, beautiful, beautiful boots (for sale!).
Walk through the door and all you shoe lovers will fall hopelessly in love with one or more pairs of sizzling sandals, funky flip flops, sexy stilettos, and, my fave for this season, bodacious boots. -

Based on the great finds I've had at Spank Clothing over the seasons, I keep going into this store thinking that I'll eventually find shoes that I'll like just as much. This has not happened.
I find that they are really into the labels that favour the chunky, heavy look that make my size 8 feet look even larger. I do not appreciate this.
I realize that not everyone has my issue and may look cute in some of the shoes. Plus, their jewelry and accessories are fun to look at and are reasonably priced. Finally, the staff remain sweet even if I don't end up buying anything after trying on a bunch of shoes. So, the three stars for Spank Shoes -

This store is legit. I haven't been to their commercial location, but compared to their granville location 4th has much better selection as they have a dedicated shoe store separate from the clothing one.
Their selection is pretty good and includes a lot of brands that aren't readily available elsewhere in Vancouver. Plus, their prices are generally affordable.
Their service is also pretty commendable in my experience. And they carry a wide selection of Matt and Nat bags :) -

They got the newest matt and natt stuff there. Me and my sis walked in looking at shoes and bags when the lady came up to us as we were picking up a matt and natt bag and she showed us different ways to use the bag. She was so helpful, we wanted the bag in another color, so she sent another lady to go pick it up from the other store across the street for us (usually people would get us to get it ourselves).
I love the bag!!! -

Why oh why do I bother checking other shoe stores? I should know by now to just go straight to Spank. I always find exactly what I am looking for - style for days, vibrant colors, comfort, and value. The three pairs that I have bought there all were in turn my favorite shoes. I have distinct tan lines from the gladiator sandals that I bought there at the beginning of summer and have rarely removed.
