Review from Angela L.
About a third of the way through our gigantic bowls of pasta, we realized that no appetite (of ours) would have ever been big enough for this job. The bowls at Spageddy Eddy's are bigger than your head! Don't let that scare you away though, after having had the leftovers for lunch the next day now, I'll attest to the fact that it's just as good when reheated.
Our litre of red wine arrived almost immediately in its original bottled glory once the three of us were sat in a cozy little nook. Despite knowing how impossible it was going to be to finish our mains (from having seen our neighbouring table's mammoth dishes), we still couldn't resist sharing an order of the delightfully stringy cheesy garlic bread. No regrets there!
My "maza maza spageddy", a spaghetti dish topped with a rose sauce made of half alfredo and half chunky veggies in tomato-base is perfect for those of us who have equal love for the creamy and the tangy. My dinner dates' carbonaras (one with fettucini and the other substituted with spageddy by special request) were both decadently rich and beautifully accented with chunks of bacon and mushrooms.
To be completely truthful, the pasta was a little beyond al dente and I could definitely make the same food (or better) at home, but Spageddy Eddy's is about the fun and boy, do they deliver! Each menu is laminated in a different record cover, the bar is covered in license plates and strings of lights, you're greeted by a giant Zeddy, the bread baskets dangle from the ceiling - There are enough tchotchkes in the little basement to keep your eyes darting for hours.
The kind and attentive service from our British-accented server (the lone server for the entire restaurant for the night, it seemed) let us pretend for the evening that we were actually in the London across the pond. Regardless of where we actually were though, the kitschy decor was well worth the trip down the alley way to experience. -

The portions are really huge. You will not leave this restaurant hungry.
The pasta dishes are satisfying and the food is not bad. Do not expect haute cusine because this is a budget eatery and one of the better ones.
I did like the taste of the food and I would recommend this place to go to if you are downtown London, Ontario. -

Two words can sum up what you would get from Spageddy Eddy's: Value and Ambiance. The portions are so huge that three meals could come out of one bowl of pasta. However, as a delicious pasta dish.. they aren't anything to write home about. (But i guess enough to write on Yelp...lol) The tomato sauce is nothing too special. It tastes like something that comes out of a jar, but the alfredo/carbonara sauce is not too bad. I would recommend those dishes. The starter salads are (in keeping with the portion size theme) enough to feed two people.
The ambiance is old school quirky...with a touch of antique store thrown in. There's just a little bit too much dinginess to make me feel a little uncomfortable. It was cool to go there to see the place and see how much stuff one can stick on a wall, however I wouldn't go there looking for anything beyond mediocre in terms of food. -

Just a cozy place for lots of good food when you're in the mood for pasta. Love the staff and the atmosphere. Well worth a trip downtown.

Been here countless times. Food is always great, flavour is awesome, portions are enormous!

Nestled in an alley in the middle of downtown London is spageddy eddy's. I first found out about this place in first year university. Little has changed about this place. Still on the walls are their knick-knacky old trinkets and randomness, including their bread basket from the sky.
The portion sizes here are BIG. The lasagna is 1/4 of a lasagna pan (I actually think the first time I was here it was 1/3 of one). The spageddy is the size of your head.
All in all I don't think the quality of the food is amazing or out of this world, but I would come just for the experience and the quantity you get.
One of london's top 10 for sure! -

First off, dont be afraid to go down the dark alley for the restaurant entrance. It is worth it. The place has some nostalgic elements all throughout. Pretty good food too. Ordered the spageddy with mushrooms. Huge serving. Spaghetti is like spaghetti factory but faster service. And seems to be family run which is a cool thing. People seemed to care. I'd like to come back for sure.

I have been to spageddy Eddys only once and it was only an ok restaurant. The place is somewhat hidden and I only went because it was close to where we were at the time. The service was actually very slow and the wait time to get a table was rather long for a late night meal. When we got a table at a corner, the waitress didn't come by our table as often. We had the house salad and the famous spaghetti. The food came very fast. The salad was decent (its a salad after all), but the spaghetti was soggy and tasteless. Since the food got here so fast, it felt like the spaghetti was already sitting in a bowl for hours soaking up the tomato sauce...
Overall, I think I can make better spaghetti than what we had. I wouldn't go back again. -

Oh spageddy eddy's I love you so, from your kitchy nick nacks everywhere, to your bread basket from the sky! Your ancient furniture, all the way down to your sketchy ally location. There's nothing like a nice big plate of spaghetti, or in spageddy eddy's case a huge heaping bowl so big that mini me could go swimming in it! lol.
For an appitizer we had some garlic bread with meat sauce and cheese, which was amazingly good! Nice fresh baked loaf of bread and some great meat sauce to top it all of! I had the fettuccini carbonara which has bacon, mushrooms, and onions all in a creamy Alfredo sauce. My dish was amazingly good but the spageddy that I tried tasted even better! That sauce is sooo good it reminds me of when my nonna cooks, and that's a good thing cause she's the best chef ever, lol. But apart from that the food was great!
So amazingly good that I can't wait to come back to spageddy eddy's again! Oh and the service was excellent as well! Great little place tucked away downtown in an ally, check it out if your in the mood for some amazingly good pasta in london! You won't be dissapinted. -

If I ever return to London, Ontario, I will make it a point to stop in at my old favourite - Spageddy Eddy's. Granted the last time I was here was about 10+ years ago, but I loved their location, the decor, the breadbasket that was suspended by a pulley, and the planters of pasta. Simple, but I always had a great time. I've been around the world, but I still have a soft spot for this place.
