I dined at Spag & Tini 3 times in the past. The experience was pleasant. I loved walking down to the restaurant from the hotel. Checking out all the stores, art shops, etc. Walking along the narrow alleys lined with stores and restaurants. Finally arriving at the river, there is a very restaurant that looks lively and vibrant. We just had to go. The patio is very Europe-esque.

I don't remember much about foods, but at least I didn't say to myself I will never come back. Remember this is an Italian restaurant. If you are expecting some French flare and twist in those dishes, don't bother. The construction and flavor are no different from what you will find in Italian restaurants in Toronto.

At least the foods didn't insult. But they weren't mind-blowing either. They were edible. I travel to Quebec city quite often. And if you ask me, I know I am going back for the hack of it.

Ate in here for lunch while on a day tour/trip to Quebec City. It was literally the first place we arrived at when we got to Quebec and our bus driver was adamant about everyone taking lunch here. Since I didn't want to waste time looking for a place to eat later instead of walking around this beautiful city, I decided to eat in this nice quaint little pasta place. I ordered a simple penne with meat sauce with some minestrone. It was quite good and the service was decent. I'd come back when I return to Quebec City.

It is sad to say, but this was the best meal we had in Quebec City (we did not go outside the old city - I did not want to drive anywhere).

Why is it that in a city that claims to be French is it that 80% of the restaurants are Italian? I think I have already said this, but the only thing French about Quebec is the language IMO.

Yes there are a few French restaurants, but they are (like everything in Quebec city) way overpriced. I decided to try to find reasonably priced foods since the expensive stuff had been so disappointing.

Anyway after much searching we walked by this place and they had some reasonable all inclusive meals.
So $21 for salad or Soup, your meal and a piece of cake.

We were sat immediately and water was brought over by a very friendly waiter. We ordered our drinks. This is where it got a little odd.

I asked for a Molsen Canadian and was told "We only serve good beer here, not that stuff." Hmmm. He then tells me they have Molsen Export. WTF - Oh it is Quebec. They don't like anything Canadian.
(BTW: Later that evening I was watching a street performer and he took out a Canadian flag and several people booed. He then took out a Quebec flag to everyone cheering.)

So back to the food. we ordered a Pepperoni Pizza to start.
It was very good. Crispy with a lot of pepperoni.

I had the minestrone soup and it was obviously fresh made, lots of flavour and fresh veggies in it.

For my meal I had the spaghetti and sausage with cheese baked on top. It was very good, but I was not thrilled with the pasta. I would have preferred linguini to spaghetti and it was little overdone for me, not bad though. The sausage was very good and had a little spice to it.

My wife had the Asian chicken salad. It was a very large and tasty salad with lots of chicken. Make sure you ask for extra dressing on the side. It is a large salad and they give you very little dressing.

For dessert you get a piece of white sugar cake and it was also tasty.

As far as food goes in Quebec city this was pretty good.

We had out last dinner here at QC before leaving for home, we thought it would be memorable as the place was packed and we had to wait almost 40 minutes to get a table.

Finally we decided to take a table inside the restaurant in the basement. Firstly the F^%$N moron's had a Fire place going in the height of summer when the temprature outside was 85%.

The whole ordeal took well over 2.5 hrs to finish and I had to step out multiple times to feed the parking meter before we finished dinner.

It is a mega restaurant with seating for a lot of people, what is surising is that they claim they ran out of ICE on a swealtering hot day, the manager saw me sweating and said, hold on I will try to get you some ice from the bar ( this was nice gesture).

My choice for something vegetarian was pasta that tasted like boiled vegetables ( they could have used Ragu marinara it would have tasted better), we just wanted to finish and run..... more and more large groups decended and our waited was so busy serving the large group we were almost left lost for an hour..... finally he called another waiter and said can you see what they want.

I did not wnat desert on anythign more, I simply paid the 100+ $ tab for 4 people and ran for cover ---- such a tourist trap!.
