3 Words... Manhattan Clam Chowder
Bursting with flavour and seafood meat! You can tell that the flavour came from the ingredients and not some powdered mix.
Their staff is always happy as well. So on a rainy, stressful day at work, if you're in the Lonsdale Area, this is the place to go :-D -

Just got back from a Bike Ride to North Vancouver where we stopped at Lonsdale Quay for a rest break. Since I was hungry from riding and fighting Today's Windy conditions,
I decided to have some of the Soup Meister great Seafood Chowder for lunch, Its a Tomato Based soup with lots of chucks of salmon and white fish with flavor that comes putting in the right mix of ingredients together and cooking it for the right amount of time. A large bowl with a bun makes for a good lunch at about six bucks. Another biker in the group had the Chicken Mushroom which I have had before and he told me he really enjoyed his also. Yes I be back again.
Lonsdale Quay has several good bicycle racks to use for bicycle parking -

Campbells is better.
I wasn't hungry but sampled my gf's new england clam chowder (small was $5.10+tax incl bread and butter). Overly thick and lacking in flavour, Campbell's chunky would win easily. It was edible though.
All the staff chopping away were young'ins. That may be the root cause. Sorry kids. -

So I discovered today that I may have unintentionally lied in my previous review. Sorry...so so sorry....
In my defense, it's reaaally more of a half-lie if anything. Basically, the whole under $5 meal only applies if you order a small soup & NO bun (which is all I ever order these days, and hence the slip up).
Small Soup WITH a bun is $5.10+tax.
It's still a fair priced meal and, even though I'm avoiding carbs these days due to my ever expanding waistline, the airy chewy buns are well worth the extra coupla quarters.Listed in: Yelp 30 Day Challenge 2011

big hearty bowls of soup made from only the freshest ingredients and no preservatives. I tried the seafood chowder and it was delicious with generous amounts of seafood. the buns that come with each bowl are perfect...soft and cloudy on the inside, slightly crunchy on the outside, ideal for dipping!
If you're a soup fan, this is definitely worth checking out the next time you're at Lonsdale Quay. In fact, I'd even say it's a reason to visit the Quay! -

For a great bowl of soup on a rainy day try the Soup Meister at Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver. All soups are made fresh onsite - and they also sell refrigerated soup for take home.
The three best soups to try:
1) Seafood Chowder - made every Saturday - tomato based with lots of fish, clams, potatoes - it is "the BEST" Jerry! The Best!
2) New England Clam Chowder - made on Sundays - a close runner up.
3) Kate's Tomato Chowder.
The only soup I didn't enjoy is the Chicken Mulligatawny !! Contains Mango Chutney - skip this puppy!!!
Sit back - enjoy a soup and a fresh dinner roll - and you are set for the day!! -

I have been here a handful of times and the soup is always good. They always have a vegetarian option. It comes with a nice piece of foccaccia bread. They serve their soup in bowls too.. real ones! Way to be progressive.

It's not just just a great place to eat, it's a great place to shop, too. When I'm late getting home, I like to stop in to get dinner handled for the whole gang at home. Even on special occasions you can find a creative and delicious first course for your guests.
While you may think of it as a place for soup, you can get gravy and demi glace here, too. This place is a gem! -

I've been a patron of this establishment for about 6 years now. Never have i had soup that was enough to stuff my hunger until Soup Meister. Every day is different which is why you never get bored of it. I do find the prices a bit high for soup but if you watch the effort put into the soup you would understand why. There are at least half a dozen employees here who chop and prepare the daily soups. Bills need to be paid, and they deserve what they get in return. Excellent soup, awesome bun, great variety.

I love homemade soups, but sometimes the prospect of all that chopping and simmering can be a little much. When you want instant gratification, go to Soup Meister. They make over 100 different kinds of soups (but not all at once), as well as stocks, sauces, dips, dressings, gravies and butters. There are lots of vegetarian options available. I especially like the tomato basil mushroom soup. You can either pick something up from the refrigerator or pull up a seat and enjoy one of the three soups of the day at the counter. Delicious!
