I've been dying to try Souleio's ever since they opened last year. Finally I got around to it and I'm so glad I did!

As soon as I walked in I was so impressed with the design of the place. Everything, from the menu to the old fashioned barrels of maple syrup have been well thought out and nothing is out of place.

The idea behind Souleio's is local, (I hate the overuse of this word...but it's really necessary here...) sustainable, good food. The message I got is that local doesn't mean less! The panins and salads are superb and the prices are on par with other non-local restaurants.

With the Saskatchewan bounty they sell in their grocery section I found some produce I didn't even know we produced in Saskatchewan!

The baking is incredible - artisan breads, I can't remember what else...oh and handmade chocolate truffles that looked excellent. I believe there were cheesecakes etc in the back too.

I'm not a big wino but they do carry wines and have wine tasting nights (the info is on the website) which my mom said was great!

I can't wait to come home and have another lunch here! I love that the menu changes with season so it will be something completely different than before!

It can be difficult to find quality food in smaller centres in Canada. Souleio Foods makes it easy.
This is a must-visit lunch spot if you're a fan of interesting home made soups and paninis. And if you like an open setting in a stylishly refurbished heritage building, then you need to check out Souleio. There's even a small patio out front that always seems to be sunny. Maybe that's why the name came from...
