Love, love, love this place. It's my new go-to hair salon, thanks to the combination of reasonable prices, excellent service, and a pretty darn good job with my hard-to-handle hair.
My BFF and I booked a double appointment to have our hair done at the same time after picking up a Dealfind coupon for this place. We enjoyed: "a haircut, wash, blow dry and style, plus a deep conditioning, scalp massage, [and] up to 10 accent highlights or root re-touching".
This is the first time I've gotten highlights, and I think I'm hooked. The stylist who saw me did a great job explaining which colours would look best and giving me options, and overall just kicked ass. My friend was just as happy with her service, and we had an awesome time. We're definitely going back in a couple months for more.
Since then, I've gone again for waxing to tame my hairy Pict eyebrows. (Silly ancestors.) The esthetician did a great job shaping them, though it wasn't the most soothing post-wax treatment I've had -- some places give you aloe vera cooling gel or lotion to help ease the stinging. It's also a little pricier than other salons, as are most of the esthetic services here, I think; the salon hair services are moderate. Still, I sure can't complain!
I'd come here for full-priced services, and indeed, I will. See you soon, Solo. -

This salon offers services other than haircuts - such as waxing, manicures, pedicures, eyelash applications and make-up applications. Alyssa is great at cutting hair and will make you look fabulous. The salon uses Eufora shampoo and conditioner which is aloe vera based and makes your hair feel clean and washes away residue build up. Alyssa is also the manager and easy to talk to. They offer a discount for students - I think 10 percent. Haircuts start at $45. The front desk staff are friendly and will hang up your coat for you and will give you a beverage if you would like one, which is a nice touch.
Kim is friendly and the brazilian was ok, but did not live up to other brazilians I have had. A true brazilian takes off everything front and back (TMI I know!) but they do not do a true brazilian here. For $55, I would expect the real thing. Also, the second time I went there, she did the waxing with me sitting half up and feet hanging off the table -quite awkward. I would give the salon 4.5 stars and the waxing 3.5 stars. -

I bought a teambuy deal recently for a haircut, wash, highlights, style and express manicures. Today I redeemed the hair portion and had a great experience.
The salon is nice and open with lots of room and they have coffee, tea or water to drink during your appointment. There are tons of people in and out because of the tanning salon downstairs, so if you need a tan afterwards, it is certainly convieniently located. The only downside is the street parking, but its downtown Halifax so what can you expect.
I upgraded to more foils for $30, which was definitely worth it, since it would have cost 85$ just for the extra foils on a regular visit. The hairstylist, Erin, definitely knew what she was doing and the end result was great. I enjoy the new color and cut, although the wind from walking around downtown halifax ruined the style, but I can recreate it since she showed me how. I will return on another visit for the manicure and will most likely come back next time I need my hair done. I do believe the regular prices for a haircut with the works is a bit steep, but they certainly take care of you here.
Overall, I recommend this salon to anyone looking for a higher quality styling experience and a relaxing appointment...and afterward you can have lunch or dinner at any of the many restaurants in the area.
