I adore this dry cleaner business. With hundreds, maybe even thousands of dry cleaner options in the downtown alone you have to offer more than an average price, convenient hours and a decent price. Soletta does just that.
The adorable husband and wife team at Soletta keep me coming back for their excellent customer service but beyond that, their hemming/alteration skills!!! I believe in tailoring and wish I could afford to alter all my clothes - if I could, I'd bring them here! Alas, I mostly just get pants hemmed and linings fixed. Which they do beautifully.
I always feel welcome there, I think they're starting to remember me despite my infrequent visits. I've never had a bad experience - they're honest with you about what you can and can't expect to get from a stain removal or in hoping to save those pair of jeans with the whole in the...er...inner thigh...with a patch - no go, get a new pair she says! She's right.
I think in the dry cleaning business the way to retain customers is customer service - Soletta has that in spades. I wouldn't say they are the cheapest in town - but neither are my clothes!! And I trust them to do it right. -

I could easily say this was probably my worst encounter with a dry cleaning company. Not only did they manage to ruin my favourite article in my closet, (discoloured in the front and stained on the back) both husband and wife were extremely rude.
The wife yelled at me in person, and the husband spoke rudely over the phone, claimed that I don't speak English well and hung up.
The whole experience was very unfair and unprofessional. I do not recommend this place to anyone. -

Soletta is nestled around the corner from Starbucks on Richmond at Spadina. With it's unassuming little black awning it could be easily missed and the only reason I found out about it is because my coworkers have been going there for years.
Soletta uses a "green friendly" dry cleaning system according to their signage in the store. I'm not entirely sure what that means because there is no literature to explain what the process is or how it works but hey, it's green so it has to be good?
More often than not I'm here for their hemming prowess. I wish I could do this myself since it's such a simple procedure but I have a bit of an issue with needle and thread. Most of my stitching attempts end up looking like Confederate war surgery gone wrong so I leave it to the experts.
I have heard that Soletta are expensive compared to other places but hemming has only ever cost me around ten dollars unless you need something fancy done or taken in and dry cleaning cost me around eight to ten for a shirt and twenty for a jacket. Maybe I'm wrong but that seems to be pretty much in keeping with what I've paid or seen advertised in most other places.
A few people have told me that the best time to go is in the afternoon because the place is run by a husband and wife. The husband works during the day and has been known to be gruff but his wife is a peach.
