Review from Shannon M.
North Vancouver, BC
4 stars for the location and view, 2 stars for the wine and marketing.
We came to this winery on our tour because we knew that we would be able to bring our own picnic lunch to enjoy on their patio with a view if we purchased a bottle of wine to enjoy with it.
This did not disappoint. The location and view are absolutely spectacular and the patio is large and lovely. We most definitely enjoyed our homemade sandwiches while taking in everything the Naramata Bench has to offer.
The winery's marketing left a little to be desired, on the other hand. When we stood at the counter for our tasting and looked over the list of wines none of them had any sort of description at all. Neither did the bottle that we ended up purchasing (so I have to assume that none of them have this). I found this to be a little off-putting as I very much enjoy reading about the wine and knowing what to expect, especially when the descriptions are well-written. To me this just seemed kind of lazy.
I wasn't really a fan of any of their wines aside from the Rose that we ended up purchasing to drink on the patio, but that's just personal taste (side note: the Rose does NOT pair well with oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, but is quite nice with Sweet Chili Bits & Bites. Huh!). I likely won't be back considering there are so many others in the region that we didn't have time to get to this trip.
It was really very pretty there, though.
