Torrance, Los Angeles, CA
My family and I have been eating at Snax since I moved to the South Torrance area when I was about two years old, and I truly hope it will always be there. At 17, I still make it a point to stop in and grab my old dependable, the Superburger w/cheese, at least once a weekend. The customer service has always been excellent, derived from the most friendly and reliable staff you can find. I have tried everything from the teryaki chicken (which I'm pretty sure they don't have any more), to the carne asana burrito and all of their burgers, and have truly never been disappointed. Their breakfast is also killer. Snax not only has excellent food and staff, but also memories that I will always cherish. From when I was a little kid running straight to the pinball machine with a quarter in my hand only to be yelled at to sit down and tell Linda what I wanted to eat, to a break with my dad from studying on a Saturday, Snax is home. I will always love this little place, and everyone needs to at least try it.
So what should you get?
Well, my usual is this:
First, the chips and salsa are INCREDIBLE. So make sure you get those. The best thing on the menu is their claim to fame: the Superburger. Get it, you won't be disappointed.
Their breakfast menu is superb. I recommend any of it, all of it. The Mexican menu is also exceptional, I just haven't experimented too much with it. My father and I really like the Chili Size, too. Breakfast is served all day, and sometimes, at 3:00 in the afternoon, diced ham & eggs from Snax is just what I need. It's all wonderful, so try it! And don't forget to tip well! :) -
Review from Lisa S.
My excitement to try this place, mixed with the long line emanating from the front door, may have set my expectations a little too high. We were too early for the chips and salsa, which sucked. We left after the time period when they started, but we still didn't get any. :(
I tried the New Mexico omelet. I've never had a tortilla INSIDE an omelet before, so that was definitely interesting. I still haven't decided how I feel about that. It definitely leant a novel texture to the dish, so I guess I view it positively overall. The home fries were terrible, however. They were mushy and kind of gross. I would avoid those at all cost.
I did love the blueberry muffin. It was more like a blueberry muffin cake. I could eat a lot of those.
The meal was large, and it felt heavily caloric -- definitely a good choice for a hangover. I wasn't hung over, though, so I wasn't so impressed.
Maybe I'll try one of their Mexican dinner specials. -

OMG it's a dive, but the food is
Awesome! All 5 of us (3kids 2 parents) were happy and full. This just doesn't happen very often. Everyone is right about the new Mexico omelet. YUM! Steak fries, YUM! Interior reminiscent of an abandoned roadside gift shop, less than yummy. Husband was wondering if I had lost my mind in choosing to eat here. I think half of it used to be a Mexican restaurant with dark carved wood booths, and then the unit next door became vacant so they rented it out and stuck a bunch of tables in there and said done. It's carpeted, ick. Chipped Formica tables and vinyl chairs and booths, ick. Ah but the food... Just close your eyes and think of England. Or something... -

Was looking for their squaw bread when i went in last Sunday. Housemate got the breakfast burrito (steak), and i got the omlette (it felt like it had everything in it). All was decent. Service was very attentive. Food portion was huge!!
My omlette tasted good, and also enjoyed their salsa & chips! Not sure if i'd be back for the breakfast, may come back and test out their claim on their burgers. -
Review from Drew B.
Been hearing good things about this place so stopped by while on the Torrance side of town. I've been doing a lot of "research" on Burgers so this place had to be examined. I had a double bacon cheese burger . It was $5.25 so off to a good start. Meat was fine Bacon was crisp. A pretty reasonable run of the mill burger. Steak fries were hot and almost crispy.
It has Mexican food too which is a bizarre dual theme, but they served chips and salsa both were tasy and free so that's nice. I would definetly go back (only if I was in the area) and read some Yelp reviews to get more dialed in on what they do really well. Service was friendly. -

Went here for a burger, since the sign stood out as I was driving; it looked like a supermarket type of sign. I did not find anything special for me to come back here again. Perhaps I should have tried the breakfast like a few people have said.

This review is a little tough--Snax has been one of my favorite places to get a burger for years, but I have never tried the breakfasts. On my last visit I did, and it was fine (breakfast burrito) nothing wrong with, it, but I think $7.95 is a bit high for a medium sized burrito. Add a drink, it's over $10. I just can't give them less than 4 stars though, because of the great service, and their superburger is one of my favorites.
Nest time maybe I'll try some pancakes etc. Probably a better portion for the price.
Still recommended. (But I think I'll probably stick to the burgers). -

Contrary to what you might think, it should NOT be called "Home of the original superburger," it SHOULD be called, "Snax: Where breakfast is better than dinner!"
I've been to Snax many times and only up until recently I got a burger every single time I went there. My family thinks their fries are delicious and I think they are just okay. Yeah, they're fresh, but they really don't have a taste worth coming back for. Same with the burger. It's a pretty decent size and the meat/condiments also seem fresh, which is a good sign. However, I've had many other fantastic burgers around and time and time again, they just don't cut it. They're pretty tasteless, even with bacon and cheese which I add every time.
Then I tried a burrito during a visit here... it was also extremely bland. I asked for extra salsa which I applied to the burrito (lol) and it still didn't do much. Something was missing but I can't quite point anything out other than it's general taste. It's almost comparable to the burger when it comes to magnitude of taste.
However (saving the best for last here), the breakfast is a-mazing! They have an awesome breakfast burrito. I especially love it with the salsa. Great taste, fresh ingredients... damn good! I think I've found my "go-to" food for this place... I will no longer be coming to Snax to eat burgers or sandwiches, but a great and cheap breakfast!Listed in: The Cheeseburger Chronicles

Everyone is loving the breakfasts here, but I havent tried that part of the menu (yet). Snax is a small joint with a Large TV and a few classic coin-op games. I tried their SuperBurger and Onion Rings.
The SuperBurger is a 1/2 lb. burger w/ no frills - just two patties done medium, medium well, lettuce, tomato, and a pickle on the side. The onion rings were fresh and hot. Price was all for $8. If you're craving a burger or a filling meal for under $10, Snax is good in my book.
Next time I'll give their breakfast a shot. -

Best service of my life! The waitress brought my drinks right away, brought ranch and ketchup to us, without even asking!! I ordered the sampler and a double bacon cheeseburger and shared it with my boyfriend. She brought the sampler as soon as it was ready along with another ranch saucer dish! She also had our burger cut in half and put on separate plates along with our own side of onion rings, without asking again! I love this waitress! Best service ever along with the great happy hour deals! Can't get better than this!

I love this place. It's a great place for a down-to-earth family dinner. You probably won't appreciate this place if you walk around with your nose in the air. The mexican food here is great. The patty melt is awesome. The pancakes are even great. Great service. You can watch the game and even play lotto. There's another location on Artesia Blvd, but this one is by far my favorite.

It's not much for decore and if you really look around before you give this place a try.... you might turn around and walk out. But if you don't..... You will be in for a treat.
At first, you are thinking... that you need to order your food at a counter but you actually sit down and a server will take your order and serve it to you and are good at it... keeping your drinks refilled, etc.
The food is really good diner type food.
I got a cheeseburger that was stacked high with a thick slice of tomato, onion... fresh lettuce and a thousand island dressing. The onion rings were good, I was so full, I could not eat it all... and when everyone else suggested to go to Marie Calendars for pie... I actually refused dessert.
My hubby had the chili burger which came highly recommended and he ate it all. My friend ordered the patty melt and her hubby ordered the Chicken fried steack which he said he was so glad he did! After our so so breakfast I was glad we ended our visit on a better note. -

SNAX!!!!! I LOVE going here for breakfast! This is the only place literally that I'll eat breakfast! I hate breakfast food usually..but this place is an exception. I usually get a number 4 which is an omelette with 4 cheeses..bacon and guacamole on top..mmm :) and they made me LOVE their gravy with biscuits!
Must go back now!! -

OM NOM NOM!!
that's pretty much all you need to know about the tasty, satisfying, food you can find at SNAX!! I worked here years ago when I was wee teenager and I am happy to share what a clean operation they have behind the counter and the amazing home-made recipes they make for some of the menu!
The business recently came under new ownership from the original family owners, but the greatness of SNAX remains with the original cooks and original recipes! The menu has also been improved with the addition of Mexican food on the menu to join all our classic American favorites. My favorite change is the fact that THEY SERVE BREAKFAST ALL DAY!!!
I have been eating SNAX for my entire life, and although I have left the city of Torrance, I still enjoy a great breakfast here whenever I return to the city!
I recommend the New Mexico Omelette! -

For a cheap but tasty meal, you can't beat snax. They got breakfast all day with a tasty chicken fried steak and eggs. The burgers are good with a great deal with the triplex special. (3 cheeseburgers and 1 fries for 10 bucks). The Mexican menu is great and they always give us chips with salsa (salsa is to die for)

Love this neighborhood sports bar like joint. The name itself is a misnomer as I pictured some tiny take out place, but it's actually a roomy place with rustic booths. We tried the burgers, breakfast and the authentic Mexican. All pretty good and the service is friendly.
The Eggs benedict was huge with a lot of Hollaindaise which next time, I'll ask for it on the side or go easy, but overall, delish.
Their wait staff was friendly to my son and the kids menu is decent enough for an adult serving.
Finally, most of all, this is one of the few places that makes great steak cut fries, one of my biggest weaknesses.
I have to add that the chips and salsa were awesome. The salsa had a kick to it which is uncommon. Most places, it tastes like ketchup.
Anyway, I would highly recommend this place as a casual family choice. Reliable and a good value. -

I've been going to Snax since I was a middle schooler on a bike, saving my lunch money to eat at the burger heaven.
Although they snazzed up the signage, the decor remains nearly the same. (Minus the new wooden counter and non sticky vinyl table covers)
The gum snapping, 80's hair/makeup lady no longer works here; change of ownership?
Snax's burgers are pretty good. I think I like them so much because I have such great memories there as a kiddo. It could also be that they give you a thick slice of whole onion. I love stanky food. -

Snax makes me happy. Comfort food, easy going people and a full menu make this place a great stop for breakfast lunch or dinner. I've been there I don't know a hundred times now and every time I go no matter what I get it's fresh, delicious and fast. It's my favorite place to go for lunch or Sunday breakfast.
Seems like a place that will never go out of business because it's so simple and easy. I hate the crowding on the weekends but it's worth the wait. -

Another hidden treasure in Torrance!
I love family owned restaurants and this place is awesome!
I get their pork chop dish with O'Douls. Their burger combos are also great. Great service and can't complain, it's like Norms but smaller and cozier version of family owned restaurant. Go there! -

Classic local burger joint that serves great breakfast as well. Nice char-grilled burger with a generous slice of onion and tomato, pickles, and fresh crisp lettuce. Bun was fresh too! Steak fries are a great addition. No ambiance but who cares! It's a burger joint! Good cheap beer for happy hour too! This will be a regular burger stop for me.

I am so lucky to live within walking distance to Snax. My girlfriend and I go there all the time. The food is great and the service is even better! Very casual and I can always try to win some money (but usually lose a few bucks) playing Hot Spot while I wait. I love the friendly staff there.

this place is a dive, but it's clean, the service is always great and they have THE BEST breakfast burrito. i get it with just eggs and cheese and the hash browns inside the burrito, and make sure to get extra salsa--it's so good!!! i'm also a big fan of the breakfast special--and if you go on a weekday morning it's less than $4!
my boyfriend and i discovered this place a couple years ago when we were starving, driving around running errands and trying to figure out what to eat. i noticed Snax and said, "that place has been there ever since i can remember--it must be good!" we tried it out and were pleasantly surprised. now Snax is our spot whenever we are having a hangover day. that breakfast burrito and a fountain soda will cure what ails ya! -

Food is not bad at all. what we like the most was their service. They are really friendly and nice. All food is super cheap too. We did not find anything negative about the place. Also, they provide coupon in weekly free coupon book so we only had to pay $9.99 for two dinner. It was a great deal!!!

The only reason why I gave this place 2 stars is because their food is decent. I really like their breakfast. It's very filling. I really wanted to give this place 1 star because the service is HORRIBLE!!! Every time I've been there, I've been really upset at how crappy their service is. I'm a waitress and understand that when it's busy, it's hard to give the best service, but I've been here several times where I've been 1 of 2 or 3 tables and service sucked. My drinks stay empty for 15 minutes. I have to literally waive the waitress down or waive my empty cup in the air for them to STOP GOSSIPING TO EACH OTHER IN THE FRONT and come provide service. They don't check on you to see if you need anything EVER. I just don't understand. It wasn't like this before the owners changed.... Don't go here if you want decent or even acceptable service.
