If you love Southern-style Bar-B-Que, then you owe it to yourself to try Guelph's newest restaurant, Smokin' Tony's Bar-B-Que.
The restaurant just opened in late April 2011 and from the people I saw there, the place is already getting lots of attention.
The Pulled Pork sandwich is delicious and at $5.99 is a total steal of a deal! Also excellent is the 2-meat platter which I had with the tasty ribs and beef brisket, which are served with corn bread and 2 sides for only $16.99.
Service at the restaurant is friendly and the visit was very enjoyable... I hope to come again soon, it was certainly worth the drive from Kitchener-Waterloo. -

Pulled pork and brisket sandwiches - first time lunch visit was yummo!
However, we went back for the ribs last night and came away disappointed - they were pricey and while the sauce was good, the meat was TOUGH and pink at the bone. We spent over $70 for four people and I felt ripped off.
Sides that I've tried and liked are mashed potato, baked beans, coleslaw. -

We ate at Smokin Tony's while up from Ottawa visiting my daughter who attends OVC. We all love real southern BBQ, so figured we'd try this place. The food was good to very good, and we all agreed it was a solid 3.5/5. (I'd give this 3.5 if I could, but can't so a 3 will have to do.) We had the "Family 3" meal combo, which had pulled pork, brisket, ribs and wings with 4 sides. There was tons of food and overall it was pretty decent BBQ, but unfortunately, everything was served luke warm at best. That one issue caused us to downgrade our overall impression from a 4 or possibly 5 to a 3. That said, everything had a real nice smoke ring, was tender, the sides were tasty, and the BBQ sauce was very good.

Luke warm meats. Over salted fries. Good ribs. Good gravy and mash. Good corn bread. Over priced fare.
