Delicious sliders, good beer, good service, and live EPL matches. What else could you want from a pub?!

Hole in the wall looking pub, with a distinctly British flair. Warm and friendly with groups gathering after work to grab a pint with a generous 4-8 happy hour. Plenty of draft beers that aren't readily available in the US, made for a fun and new experience for me. The lamb burger was definitely worth every penny. I will visit the next time I am in town for sure!

We used a Groupon for lunch here, otherwise would probably never have come in as it's a little tucked away and a little grotty looking. But wow! What an excellent lunch it was! The service was superlative -- a rare thing in Ye Olde Victoria Towne. We had the most interesting grilled cheese (with deluxe sauteed onions on it), scrumptious borscht replete with fresh dill (where does one find a fresh herb in pub food?), steak and fries. All were perfect and we left happy and sure we'll be back again soon. Such a treat to find a pub with good brews along with food that didn't come out of a manufacturer's freezer/back of a truck. Congrats, Smiths! You've raised the 'bar' (har, har) for Victorian eateries.

I popped in here before a show with a couple friends on the weekend while visiting from out of town. So this is just based on their beer and service, not food.
The wait staff and hostess were really nice and very friendly! So, full points for service.
The beer menu was good and had a nice range of choices. I was impressed that they had the chocolate porter on the menu. Not something I would expect a pub to keep on hand and tapped. I was not in the mood for porter and opted for a Driftwood amber ale instead. It was tasty.
The atmosphere is dark, but fairly comfortable. Lots of wood with long bench seats against the wall with table adjacent with a couple chairs. The bathroom left something to be desired, however. But despite that, it's a good place, and I will have to come back next time I am in town. -

I was quite disappointed with this pub. My favourite beer (Blue Buck) was pretty flat, and my second choice (Piper's Pale Ale) wasn't much better. I had the roast chicken club sandwich; it was advertised as coming on a 'Portuguese bun' which turned out to be a COLD sesame seed kaiser.
The service was good and the decor is interesting. Smiths is conveniently located downtown Victoria. -

I was here on a Monday and it was pretty fun. They have free dart boards, pool tables and foosball. They have a few beers on tap and the service was great! It is a small bar and had a dive bar feel.

Smiths is owned by the same people as the Morrissey in Vancouver. Suffice it to say, they have a proclivity toward the band and the man who put the "M" in Manchester.
Smiths does everything well. Good drink selection and specials, good pub food with some healthy choices thrown in and good local DJs spinning sweet jams.
Everything that I've tried on the menu was tasty. The food that I've seen friends eat looked good too. On most of my trips to Smiths I drink a delicious Phillips Chocolate Porter. -

The food is kind of expensive, though delicious... but the main highlight is the excellent service from the floor staff. The wait-staff is always on top of things and quick to service tables.
The atmosphere is great, though the bar service can be slow late at night. This gets worse when it gets busy.
Inside the pub is fantastic... however the location does leave something to be desired - it's a bit out of the way from most other establishments and up the street from the Wicket, so it's a bit awkwardly placed. I have a feeling they would do better if they were placed somewhere else a bit more accessible on a regular basis... that said, it's nice that it doesn't attract the usual crowds of bar hoppers...
Overall, great place to grab a pink and pub grub.... -

Named after one of the greatest bands in the UK or anywhere. Mondays the special is .45 chicken wings . That's all we ate at Smiths but they were pretty good. Good selection of uncommon beer as well. If you like it quiet, we had the place almost to ourselves around 3:30pm. If you like it noisier, it does pick up around dinner time and thereafter. Great Old English pub atmosphere inside and if you're a fan of th band The Smiths, and great 80's alternative music, you'll enjoy it. In fact I am a big fan and it's the best music I've heard in a restaurant, probably ever. We'll be going back to try out some of their other deals soon.

Smith's Pub is a gem, and one of my most frequented bars in the city. There is a great selection of beers on tap, including Driftwood and Phillips, my favorite local brewers... Located adjacent to the Quality Inn, Smith's can have the quirkiest mix of customers - like a little old couple from the hotel sitting next to punk-rocker kids. This is what I love in a pub - where everyone is welcomed. The staff are both kind and competent. I have never had a problem with my order, with the quality of the beer, or with the service. Additionally, the food menu is very well executed, including a very solid poutine and a delicious lamb burger.
