I purchased two vouchers, which was 4 appointments for hot stone massage. Something about the place always made me feel uneasy when I was there. Once I was able to relax, the massages were good.

On my first appointment, I was frustrated that during the apt, I was asked if I wanted my head/scalp massaged. I said 'sure'. I figured she asked, cause sometimes people don't want their hair messed up, etc. But when I went to check out, they tried to charge me another $18 on top of the coupon?!?

I did get upset and speak to the manager, pointing out that she did not tell me there was an extra charge (nor was it printed on the coupon that it wasn't included), and had she of, I would have passed on the scalp massage. She did say okay, and then just charged me the gst

.... BUT in the confusion of it all, when I paid the gst I didn't realize until after I left and surrendered my voucher, that they charged my gst on the $170-something value, not on the $35 that I paid. Whatever, I let it go, making a note to be sure when I redeemed the second voucher to pay closer attention that they only charged the gst on the amount paid, as that is the correct process, and what dealfind advises the gst is based on for all vouchers.

The second and third visits were fine. I was able to book appointments a few weeks apart, at times convenient to me.

On my last visit when I gave them my second voucher, they again tried to charge me gst on the full price value, not on the $ value that the voucher was sold for. I paid it and then immediately went outside and called dealfind to clarify. DF advised that I had been overcharged on taxes, and that I would have to speak direct to the merchant for a refund.

So I went back in and told them of my call with DF. The owner was called out by the desk clerk. At first they weren't going to refund me, but when I insisted, and pointed out that DF said it was illegal for them to charge gst on the value, as opposed to the amount paid, the person in charge said, 'fine give her $5 back'. This meant that the balance I had paid was still about twice what it should have been, but I wasn't going to argue about another $1-something. So I took my $5 'refund' and left ... disappointed, as at the beginning of my appointment I had picked up a business card from the front desk, and was going to look into their full price rates and decide if I wanted to continue to book appointments there at full price.

The massages were a good de-stresser, but unfortunately I can't return to a business that I feel was being shady about the charges owing on the voucher.

***** THIS REVIEW IS ALSO UNDER " B'S BEAUTY CLINIK " BECAUSE THE OWNER HAS TWO BUSINESS NAMES LOCATED AT THE SAME PLACE, AS WELL AS TWO ADDRESSES, TWO PHONE NUMBERS... ETC ******

    A MUST READ!!!

    WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!
I had arrived at B's Beauty Clinik, which is also called The Smile Clinic or Sparkling Teeth, somethingorother.
LONG STORY SHORT, I had purchased a Groupon for two full sets of Eyelash Extensions.
I walk into the front door, and the younger girl is asleep in the lay down chair in the next room.
Not to mention her shirt said " I'm bored ". ( No joke people, SUPER professional )
I sat there until she woke up, asked me what I wanted. Then sat me down.
I ask her how long she has been doing this... she says 3 months. I ask her how long they usually take. She says about an hour and a half, tops.

She began the procedure, I then had to hear about every drink she drank the night before. Hear about her religion, which is usually taboo when dealing with the general public. Also hear that she " just wants to pass out "

    THEN THE FUN BEGAN...

She would put one eyelash on, then realize she would need to remove it and place it in a different place. This was done by a tweezer, thus taking my natural lashes with the extension. Technically PLUCKING my eyelashes. I ask her if it should hurt that much, she said she has removal serum, but it burns the eyes so she doesn't like using it.
An hour and a half goes by, and she is done ONE eye. I start to get frustrated, because I have now been through 1.5 hours of someone plucking my eyelashes out. I get to look at the one finished eye, and asked her " If this is soooo difficult, I would like you to take this one off, and I will be wanting my money back. This SHOULDNT hurt like it does " She then ensures me it will be alright. At this point I am begging her to use the serum. She agrees.

By the end of the second eye, I had grew a HUGE headache. My eyes felt bruised, and by the serum, I could barely see due to the burning sensation. This is where I got extremely angry.

Additional to this Groupon, I have to pay the tax or any gratuities... which came to about $12.00.
I go to my car, look at them. Some barely hanging on, Some GLOBBED with glue.
This is now about 6:28 pm. They closed that day at 6:30.

    I go back...

I ask them to remove them, they say no. The owner ( I assume ) then calls me stupid. Says " SHE JUST SPENT 2.5 HOURS ON YOU, AND WE CLOSE IN ONE MINUTE "... " OH the humanity of people. Why can't they just be happy with what they receive "

I grow angrier, and plop myself in the lay down chair, the technician * which was the owners daughter.... then put MORE glue on my eye and said to come back in a day or so.
I asked her what she used for removal serum, I grab the bottle.
And on the back it clearly says " Do not use on or near eyes. If contact should occur, please rinse for 15 minutes thoroughly ". I did not have that luxury.

I now, between two eyefuls of lashes, have about one quarter what I had before the appointment.

I have made a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and unfortunately I see on line that that specific Groupon was bought 240 times. ( This review is for those people )

I have also let Groupon know about this location... and they are investigating taking away their Groupon " license ".

    This happened May 22nd @ 4pm.

Please everyone, TREAD CAREFULLY for this location.
All over Groupon are deals for teeth whitening, laser hair removal etc.. from the same location... I can't IMAGINE how the carry out their other services.
While I was in the chair, all I had to listen to was the owner turning down people for a whitening because they were lost and missed their appointment and were from out of town. She was mostly concerned about it taking her past 6:30. ( it is located in a business park, next to a metal shop. That's exactly where I would place my day spa too! ( sarcasm ))

I'm in customer service, and RULE OF THUMB, never say no to your clients.
As well as belittle them, unless you want to be out of business.

    Common sense, don't you think?
