I had just the opposite experience at the Beach location. Man instead of a woman. Relaxed instead of pushy. No sales pitch at all. In fact, he was just happy to let me  wander, so taking advantage of his gentle approach I  rolled around on all the beds until I found something I wanted to curl up on, and only when I was curled up in the fetal position did he come over and ask if I had any questions.

We talked for a while (I was the only customer), and he offered a lot of information that helped me make a simple decision. Hopefully it was also the right decision, because my mattress is being delivered today.

Besides the good price, another selling point was the fact that the company will take away the old mattress for a ten dollar fee. More importantly, their advertised policy is that all mattresses in good condition are cleaned, and donated to shelters. I hope this is true.

If everything turns out I'll be singing the annoying 'Sleep Country' jingle. Fingers crossed till then.

I went into Sleep Country's Beaches location hoping to buy a mattress in a place close to the new apartment I was moving into. The sales lady was friendly at first, but then really started laying on the pressure to buy right then.

The information she gave me was the complete opposite of information I received at other mattress stores there after, the opposite of even the Sleep Country location downtown on Yonge Street where I ended up making my purchase.

I told her I was mainly a stomach and side sleeper and asked her to recommend a mattress for me. I mentioned that I knew very little about mattresses and that I had heard firm mattresses were better for your back. She spun me a yarn about how for stomach sleepers a firm mattress is the very best, and she had one right there in the store, and she would be able to give me the sale price but only on that particular day pressuring me to order right then. Something about the who conversation felt a little forced. I took her card but walked out.

I afterwards went to Sears, Down Under, The Bay, and the Sleep Country on Yonge street. The sales reps I spoke to at each of these stores all recommended a softer mattress for my sleep position and were very surprised I had been recommended a firm mattress.

I am very happy with my Sleep Country mattress but I do not recommend purchasing from the Beaches location due to the sales pressure & poor advising.
